  1. At a quieter time, once the majority of the booths have closed down for the night, and you’re in the process of packing up to leave, you’re called out to by someone. You don’t realize who it is that said something at first, but realize that it’s Cairo walking toward you, only staring down at their phone and not actually looking in your direction, until they’re much closer.
  2.
  3. “I have something to ask both of you about. So, you probably heard about the match earlier being shuffled to be the first episode of the show I’m doing, and it’s kinda given everyone a weird time sorting things out. We’re planning on having merch ready for whenever the first season airs here in the city, but episode by episode, uh…”
  4.
  5. They make an effort not to look directly at London, realizing what they’re about to ask of another semi-public figure who’s probably had to deal with this as well before. “I kinda wanted to have t-shirts and posters of you guys made to go with the series launch. I dunno what you’re used to for this kinda thing, but just in case it doesn’t sound like a good deal, I managed to get- one second~!” They turn to show you their phone screen as they open it again, very quickly closing one set of text messages they didn’t mean to pull up and opening another set to display a screenshot of several different projected figures and percentages.
  6.
  7. “Managed to work the numbers to get you two, like, essentially a fifteen percent royalty on the sales.” Cairo lowers their pitch slightly, remembering that in no way has anyone actually agreed to this, and continues. “Well, potentially. We still need to get designs done, but… what do you think?”
  8.
  9. ---------------------------------------------------------------------
  10. A. Agree to the merch deal.
  11. B. Turn down the merch deal.
  12. C. Try to negotiate a better rate.
  13. D. Other (Please provide detail on this one if you choose it. You’re also welcome to do the same with the first options, of course.)
  14.
  15. It only took a few seconds for Zebra to reach an answer, a sly grin appeared across his face
  16. "In addition to the payment I have one more request, I don't know if you know this but I run my own little delivery service. Sadly, since I got stuck in this city business hasn't exactly been booming."
  17.
  18. He reaches into his bag and pulls out a business card, one he clearly designed himself.
  19.
  20. "Just help spread this info around a little and you can plaster my face on anything, well, anything I would be fine with my parents seeing."
  21.
  22. >A with a little of C
  23.
  24. In sharp contrast to Zebra's enthusiasm, Cairo's inquiry as to the use of their likenesses seemed to actually dampen the more positive mood that the whole state of affairs had put London in. He had done this song and dance before, and he was barely interested in doing it again, especially in a venue he had so little stake in. Seeing how excited his partner in crime was stopped him from declining immediately.
  25.
  26. "I'll take the deal myself with a few more conditions," he began, holding up a hand to count them off with his fingers. "If you really want to use my face on merch, put Zebra's at the forefront of it all, for the sake of him n' his business. If the 15% is split between the two of us, make it clear to anyone who'll listen that I'm giving most of my half to charity. I'll only ever need enough to be comfortable, and I'm fine with that."
  27.
  28. As London's last finger went up, he looked directly to Cairo, a sharper look in his eyes. "I'm sure I'm safe to assume you've got a lot of connections to other Stand Users high and low. If you help me connect with them too, you've more than got my OK on the deal. We can hash out the details right now or at your earliest convenience, though I'd like the former."
  29.
  30. >A with a lot of C
  31. ---------------------------------------------------------------------
  32.
  33. They were quick to agree with Zebra's proposal, assuring him that spare ad space in the Los Fortuna release of the show would be easy to allocate to his business, as well as a few direct recommendations of his service before that. With a handshake, that part of the deal was sealed.
  34.
  35. When it came to London, Cairo once again seemed to try and avoid looking directly at him most of the time as he spoke. When he finished, they offered up a loose plan for the stand user aspect. "I've got sights on a lot of interesting figures, absolutely. If it works out easy, I can just point them out to you, and if anything like this happens again with someone I think you'd want to meet, I'll call you in."
  36.
  37. They turned to walk away, almost intimidated by London's presence, before stopping to say something to him again, just glancing at him from over their shoulder as they did. "Lovett, I used to watch your fights on tv. All the time, honestly, it was all incredible to me. Obviously that wasn't an inspiration to what I do now, but icons like you are what I've wanted to match up to. In a way, you're why I started my career, why I ended up a stand user, and why we're here and talking now. It's a dream to know we're invested in the same concepts- meeting interesting characters and leaving something good for people behind our actions. Zebra, I know this must've been a little more exciting of an opportunity for you, but thank both of you for bearing with this today."
  38.
  39. As they continued walking away, it took a long time for them to be completely out of view, even in the 'dark.' A partial manifestation of [Peach Pit] had them softly glowing the whole way, and the sight didn't just fade out slowly as they walked further and further. Eventually, they turned a corner, and the last sight of that light was just as bright as it began.
