Privacy Policy for Tester-Reporter-AI

Tester-Reporter-AI ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our Chrome Extension collects, uses, stores, and protects your data. By using Tester-Reporter-AI, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect
Tester-Reporter-AI is a manual QA testing assistant. When you explicitly initiate a recording session, the extension collects the following data strictly from the active tab being recorded:
- User Activity: Clicks, keyboard input, and scroll events.
- Website Content: Pruned DOM (HTML) snapshots, console error logs, and network failure responses (HTTP 4xx/5xx).
- Media: Video and audio streams of the recorded tab.

We do NOT collect data from tabs or websites that are not actively being recorded, nor do we track your general web browsing history.

2. How We Use Your Information
The collected data is used exclusively for the extension's Single Purpose: to provide you with synchronized QA video recordings, generate automated Playwright (.spec.ts) scripts, and create structured AI bug reports.

3. Data Storage (100% Local)
All recorded session data—including videos, action traces, and DOM snapshots—is stored locally on your device within your browser's IndexedDB. We do not own, operate, or maintain any central servers that store your recordings or testing data.

4. Data Redaction & Transmission
Your data remains locally on your device and never leaves your browser until you explicitly click the button to "Generate AI Report".
- Auto-Redaction Gate: Before any data is transmitted, the extension automatically scrubs and masks sensitive information (such as passwords, bearer tokens, API keys, credit card numbers, and personal identifiers) from the payload.
- AI Processing: The redacted evidence bundle is sent securely via our Cloudflare Worker Proxy to Google's Gemini API strictly for generating the bug report. The Cloudflare proxy does not log, store, or train on your payload. Once the report is generated, the data is discarded by the API.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We respect your privacy and adhere to the following strict rules:
- We DO NOT sell your data to third parties.
- We DO NOT use or transfer your data for advertising, marketing, or tracking purposes.
- We DO NOT use or transfer your data for determining creditworthiness or for lending purposes.

6. User Control and Deletion
You have full control over your data. You can delete any individual QA session, its associated video, and all related artifacts directly from the extension's interface. Once deleted, the data is permanently removed from your local storage.

7. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. The updated policy will be made available with a revised "Effective Date".
