- In higher level runs, you'll see the usage of the "eraser", and the "TST" (double eraser).
- In this guide, you'll learn how to do the techniques that were just mentioned.
- But first, you need to know a few things about the game.
- 1. The game has a wall penalty system. When colliding with a wall (even a light tap), your acceleration is compromised, but it will return to normal after some time (depending on how hard you hit the wall).
- 3. Each car has different gear shift points, for example, the AE86 Trueno has different shift points from the Levin. The link below has the shift points for all cars in-game.

- 2. Follow the racing line. The racing line consists of entering the corner from the outside (entry), turning in, getting as close as you can to the inside (commonly referred to as the apex) in the middle of the corner (mid-corner), and exiting while trying to get as close as you can to the wall on the outside (exit), again. Though, there are exceptions, such as multiple corners in a row, or multi-apex corners; where, in both cases, you will need to compromise your line, in order to keep your speed high.
- With this information, you will be able to set good, fast laptimes, but if you want to go even faster, you will need to make use of the techniques that were previously mentioned, and speaking of such, they will be explained in the following section.
- Eraser:
- The eraser is a simple technique, and works in almost every corner.
- To do it, you have to downshift, and upshift quickly, trying to lose as little speed as possible, while turning into the corner. It works by making your car be capable of turning even more in the direction you are doing the eraser to, but you will sacrifice the ability to turn to the other side, for as long as the eraser's effect lasts. Side note: it is usually a good idea to do the eraser early, not when you're already in the corner, or mid-corner. Side note²: it may also be useful, but extremely difficult to do in sections such as Akina CP2's Turn 3 to Turn 5 complex, due to the necessity to change directions so quickly.
- TST:
- TST (Short for Tsat Seung Tsat, apparently Cantonese for "double eraser") is a more complex version of the eraser, normally reserved for hairpins. It is done by being around the middle of the road, doing an eraser (sometimes 2) toward the corner, counter-steering, doing another eraser + braking (if needed), then turning into the corner. It is moderately difficult to start doing, but extremely difficult to master, but it allows a lot more turning than just a simple eraser. It is recommended you learn/practice this at Usui, due to the large amount of space available.
- By learning all of this, you will become a lot better at the game, and you can now play Time Attack (and by extension, you'll be better at Legend of The Streets/Bunta Challenge too!) And my last tip is: Play this game, a lot, you will get progressively better at this game, the more you play it.
