  1. [20:48] Kirai Kurokaiyo says, "Hmmm.. Ser Radiant Atrosus lux Vandigan, if I'm not mistaken."
  2. [20:48] Jack Richards whispers something.
  3. [20:48] Kirai Kurokaiyo says, "Though, the hammer is a bit of a give-away."
  4. [20:48] Jack Richards whispers something.
  5. [20:49] Jack Richards whispers something.
  6. [20:49] Atrosus internally screams.
  7. (Atrosus lux Vandigan)
  8. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  9.
  10. [20:50] Atrosus lux Vandigan says, "Yes, I'm a bit busy, can I help you."
  11. [20:50] Kirai Kurokaiyo says, "Kirai Kurokaiyo, the the Kageken Dojo in the mountains. As I understand... You've been asking after me."
  12. [20:50] Khaine seems like someone beat him to make a report. Oh well at least it wasn't on him interrupting the Radiant.
  13. (Khaine Vanador)
  14. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  15.
  16. [20:50] Atrosus lux Vandigan says, "I have, yes. Hold one moment."
  17. [20:50] Kirai Kurokaiyo says, "Certainly. I've kept you waiting long enough, I don't mind giving you the same courtesy."
  18. [20:50] Atrosus lux Vandigan whispers something.
  19. [20:52] So saying, Kirai walks over to stare into the water, arms crossed behind his back. He seemed completely relaxed, the kind hearted smile that masked his true nature stretched across his beautiful features as it so often was.
  20.
  21. He could hardly contain himself, anticipating what might come from this meeting.
  22. (Kirai Kurokaiyo)
  23. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  24.
  25. [20:52] Atrosus returns shortly later with a package to hand to ANderson.
  26. (Atrosus lux Vandigan)
  27. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  28.
  29. [20:52] Jack is visibly anxious, his chest is bleeding and so is his mouth.
  30.
  31. He'd keep himself paying attention to Kirai for a moment, before the radiant arrived.
  32.
  33. "Thank you, sir."
  34. (Jack Richards)
  35. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  36.
  37. [20:55] The Radiant would frown, glaring at Kirai as Anderson left. "I did, in fact, want to discuss a few things. Starting with the latest maiming I heard of." He spoke in a careful, even line, even as he approached from behind, hands tucked within the star-emblazoned cloak.
  38.
  39. "It's quite annoying, really, to suddenly hear of someone having their legs burned away and nothing being done about it." Atrosus growled, golden gaze set on Kirai's back.
  40. (Atrosus lux Vandigan)
  41. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  42.
  43. [20:59] Glancing over his shoulder to Atrosus, Kirai would raise a brow at the words chosen. The latest? Was he alleged to have caused more than one such incidents?
  44.
  45. That was the first he'd heard of it, if so...
  46.
  47. Yet, despite the Radiant's aggressive tone and visceral growl, Kirai remained calm and composed, the picture of grace. Turning back to look at the water, he'd opt not to reply initially.
  48.
  49. Instead, he'd say. "Isn't the city beautiful at this time of day? I don't often get the time to enjoy the way the crystals refract the light into the water..." He'd say, letting his voice trail off before sighing contentedly.
  50.
  51. Then, slowly turning to look at Atrosus he'd lean against the rails of the canal. "Well, it seems you know that Caesar's legs were burned at my behest, at least. And surely, you've had time enough to gather information from eye witnesses. Perhaps with the assistance of Dame Jeanne? I'm told she's been gathering testimony..."
  52.
  53. "...So, what would you like to discuss, exactly?"
  54. (Kirai Kurokaiyo)
  55. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  56.
  57. [21:08] The Radiant scowled at the man, folding his arms instead of replying. "Don't act so dismissive, if you would." Eyeing the dojo master up and down, the Radiant found the arrogance an annoyance.
  58.
  59. Perhaps hypocritically, but an annoyance nonetheless.
  60.
  61. "Perhaps why you did it for starters? Why I shouldn't care you off to a cell for assault on a teen and maiming him?" It seemed quite obvious what the Radiant would want to discuss.
  62.
  63. "Are you so dense as to not understand?"
  64. (Atrosus lux Vandigan)
  65. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  66.
  67. [21:15] Kirai's manner remained completely unphased as he allowed Atrosus to bluster at him, listening with that same pleasant smile plastered across his face as always.
  68.
  69. "Well, if we're going to start with the why? It was an act of justice, you see... Two members of the city watch stood by idly watching as the 'teen' who is quite a bit more mature than that, if you'd meet him, an adult by all rights... Vaporized one of my son's legs." He'd answer with an even tone, careful not to let the memory trigger his own murderous rage. Not here... not yet.
  70.
  71. "Certainly, I share some of the blame for allowing this to happen, as I was watching and had even encouraged the fighting that led up to this... But as I would hope you'll agree, maiming a young boy of no more than thirteen as a grown man, perhaps nearing his twenties, certainly warrants a punishment in kind."
  72.
  73. This last statement is made with a pointed tone, Kirai's gaze unwavering as he stared down the Radiant, as if daring him to argue the point. Caesar was an adult, and Akira was a young teen barely coming into his own as a Magi, only trying to redeem his clan's honor after seeing his cousin Himari beaten. "You'll note that this happened after Caesar beat down my two daughters, Asuka and Aki, my son Shinji, and my niece Himari... All the while insulting them, mere children, for being so weak."
  74.
  75. Kirai's tone remained even, though it was clear from his body language growing less and less relaxed, that he was disgusted by the memory. It was all that he could do to hide the true depths of his fury. "So, that is the why of it..."
  76.
  77. "...Are you so dense as to no understand?" He'd ask, turning the Radiant's own words on him.
  78. (Kirai Kurokaiyo)
  79. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  80.
  81. [21:16] Felton Vassemeur asks, "Ser Vandigan, is everything alright over here?"
  82. [21:19] He raised a brow, before meeting the words with an even, dead gaze. "Ah, yes, he fought through your family - a family he challenged after you took them to Sudbury in the first place seeking a fight."
  83.
  84. A glance was given to Felton. "It is, yes."
  85.
  86. Back towards Kirai he looked, a distant anger in his sandy gaze. "So if I have it right, again. You took your family to their home. You incited violence. You were met with it.
  87.
  88. And then you chose to punish him afterwards for idiocy you started in the first place."
  89. (Atrosus lux Vandigan)
  90. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  91.
  92. [21:22] Hearing the Radiant's response was enough, whatever was going on could obviously be handled by one of the Order's strongest knights, Felton would continue to on his patrol.
  93. (Felton Vassemeur)
  94. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  95.
  96. [21:30] Raising a hand, Kirai wags his finger. "Ah-Ah-Ah, you've proven yourself misinformed again. Tsk tsk, Ser Vandigan. No.. I didn't take them to Sudbury. My fool of a daughter Asuka lead the fools there, thinking to test themselves against locals their age. Something I thoroughly disapproved of... But seeing a chance to teach the children why such actions were wrong, I did encourage Caesar and the rest of the slums to beat them and teach them some humility..."
  97.
  98. Pausing, he'd tilt his head, "But not to use a high-level form of fire magic to destroy one of my boys' legs." He'd say again, making a point to clarify that it was the slum dweller who escalated the situation, Kirai's eyes narrowing slightly.
  99.
  100. "I punished the hot-blooded young man for his arrogance. I punished each of the children myself for the actions they took once I took them home. I've spoken to Exarch Soleis and Exarch Sparda on the matter, and come to an agreement to pay 4000 wood chopped by the youths themselves, which I have ready to deliver, as a toll for the unrest they caused. A sum I chose, compared to the 400 Exarch Sparda named."
  101.
  102. Now, pushing off from the rails, Kirai stares at Atrosus with his facade cracking a bit. That smile remained, but it no longer touched his eyes, and his body language made it clear he was running short of patience. "Now, Ser Radiant, would you like to make any further false allegations? I do have witnesses, afterall. Ser Soma vey Duran, for one... A knight that rose in the defense of poor Caesar, in fact. Who I paid five hundred coin in compensation for the trouble I put him through, and who is more than willing to testify on my behalf."
  103.
  104. "Though I'm not sure that matters much to you, seeing as the most investigation you seem to have done is to listen to whatever rumor might grace your brilliantly glowing ear, Ser. Would you like to accuse me of being an Assassin and a Witch while we're at it?" He'd ask, raising a brow again.
  105.
  106. It was clear Kirai did not take the Radiant's words lightly, defamatory as they were.
  107. (Kirai Kurokaiyo)
  108. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  109.
  110. [21:41] He frowned as he listened, scowl growing deeper. A sharp intake of breath was given. It seemed he was out of the loop on the matter, and was very evidently not pleased.
  111.
  112. "If your fine is paid, then you're free to go. Do keep yourself available though, I intend to speak to the Exarchs about it." He turned away, towards the north.
  113.
  114. "Perhaps something new will come up. Farewell."
  115. (Atrosus)
  116. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  117.
  118. [21:46] Kirai watched as the Radiant's frown deepened, turning into a scowl. It made his heart ache with joy at the sight of the high and might Atrosus lux Vandigan in such a state.
  119.
  120. "I can pass the fine to you, now, if you'd like Ser Radiant. I've even spoken to a young lady knight, by the name of Reina I believe, and asked her to contact you about arranging a formal meeting between yourself and the other Exarchs so that this matter can be settled once and for all." So saying, he'd pull out a note detailing the location of the 4000 wood to be picked up.
  121.
  122. "I'm sure nothing else undue will arise, Ser Radiant. I'm not some violent hooligan out to cause chaos, like the Syndicate... In fact, I'm in business with the Vey Pelleaux. I've agreed to serve as little lord Claude's bodyguard, should he wish it." Kirai said, his kind-hearted smile growing sincere... sincerely smug.
  123. (Kirai Kurokaiyo)
