  1. 1. During a round of Ninja, you are faxed by Station Command inquiring about an “inspector” who claims to have been sent by the company to evaluate each of the station's departments. How do you respond, and why?

  3. Hmmmm, I would likely respond with something along the lines of the intern route, a classic, "All the higher ups are off duty and I'm just an intern, I'll look for the paperwork on it but it'll probably take awhile. In the mean time, maybe just keep an eye on them?" Or something akin to that, if not going full intern, maybe claiming the paperwork is being difficult to track down but we'll get back to you. This way it leaves the Ninja open to do their gimmick while keeping command and security on their toes and having CC not take full responsibility for the Ninja, so if the Ninja acts up crew can respond accordingly and not have to worry about backlash from CC

  5. 2. During a round of Crossfire, you are faxed by Station Command about a team of mercenaries who have reported a band of pirates operating in the area. They wish to offer their services to the station as additional security. Command is asking you for your advice on the situation. How do you respond, and why?

  7. Depends on who is faxing. Captain? I tell them that the Captain has been entrusted with total command over the station for a reason, and is expected to act in the stations best interest as they deem fit. If they believe the group of mercenaries are trustworthy, and that their security team would struggle against the band of pirates, the station funds exist to be used at Command's discretion, but all acts taken will be under the scrutiny of CC at the end of the shift. This way, the Captain is vindicated in acting however they want and should be of the understanding that messing up will subject them to getting in trouble with CC, so it shouldnt be something taken lightly.

  9. If it's anyone other then the captain, it would likely be something along the lines of "Have a command meeting to discuss the situation, if you all believe that your security team and the station as a whole will struggle dealing with the pirates, you are permitted to utilize station funds to pay for the services of Mercenaries, but ensure they do not cause issue with crew and to keep a close eye on them." This way, command can let the mercenaries do their gimmick, or choose not to let them and either way would likely push the round forward in some kind of way, maybe angering the mercenaries and causing them to join with the pirates, and it'll remind command to not just let the mercs walk all over them if they do side with them

  11. 3. In your opinion, how much of a role should Central Command play in the affairs of the station? When is it appropriate for them to directly intervene, and how much should they attempt to shape the round when they do?
  12. HepaticaToday at 20:34
  13. Personally, I think Central Command should play almost entirely hands off for the most part and let in round crew, be it command or otherwise, be the main actors in the round due to the characters and the investment put into said characters as opposed to a CCIA agent or whatever they could cook up that would, at best, make an extremely rare appearance from time to time. However, I believe if things are so bad on the station that Command NEEDS guidance to continue, say if there's a "peaceful" up until now cult running rampant that just gibbed three people and the new HoP and RD are begging for help, remind them that they should likely call for a beacon and hide away in the bunker with whatever security force is still alive for safety until the team arrives, perhaps utilizing the robot in the bunker to meet face to face with the team that arrives and explain the situation to them, if possible. Should all else fail, call an emergency evacuation and inform them that Odin security will be on standby to deal with the issue, should it seem containable from the fax reports
  14. If CC being involved can further the round in a good RP manner, then I'm all for it, but I think only in rare situations should they be particularly hands on

  16. 4. In resolving an Incident Report, when should a character receive significant disciplinary action (such as a demotion), as opposed to a lighter response such as a warning or retraining? Under what circumstances would you consider terminating a character's employment?
  17. HepaticaToday at 20:42
  18. Obviously it depends on the severity of the of what the character has done. Let's say Urist McSecmain decided that he didn't quite like being demoted from Warden for carrying the entire armory with him where ever he went on code green, so decided to unload on the HoS and Captain demoting him. He's getting terminated, I think that's a no brainer. Or maybe Urist McMedicalmain decided to go against the CMO's orders which nearly resulted in the death of a crew member, they would end up with a demotion, imo, as not only did they go against their command staff, but they nearly killed someone in the process. It all depends on the severity of what they've done, if someone makes an IR because a character was racist or mean to their character icly, you're likely not going to demote or terminate that character, but instead hand them a warning or demand they icly go to several sensitivity classes. I would try to imagine how someone would be punished for x action in universe, while giving a bit of leeway as Nanotrasen likely wants to keep as much of their workforce as possible at all times, even a massive megacorp has limits to what they'd tolerate from their employees.
