On 7th July, the third stage of the Tour de France will start from Parker’s piece, before continuing to cause disruption elsewhere in Cambridgeshire. To make it as difficult as possible for people to either see the race or to go about their legitimate business, many roads around Cambridge will be closed and public transport  curtailed. Even pedestrian access to the CCDC building may be challenging.

So, while the rest of the world works, I’m once again delighted to reduce the number of working days here and thrilled that we will all be able to take the opportunity to enjoy the bulging, lycra-clad thighs of the participants as they pedal by in a drug-induced haze or to enjoy the day instead.
