  1. Medical and religious groups represent some of the staunchest opposition to physician-assisted suicide. These groups include but are not limited to: the American Medical Association, disability advocates, the Roman Catholic Church, Orthodox Jews, and protestants. There are many arguments against physician-assisted suicide from these various sources.
  2. *Theoretical ethical violation of the Hippocratic Oath physicians take.
  3. *Diminishing the value of human life.
  4. *Creation of a gateway to less critically ill patients to seek physician-assisted suicides.
  5. *Religious beliefs and concerns.
  6. *Failure to follow the full course of a treatment.
