  1. Crayle the Rogue (Arcane Trickster)
  2.
  3. Crayle is a 22 year old Rogue with medium length silver hair (about down to his shoulders) it's a little bit on the messy side, kinda like he just doesn't care too much. The hair parts down the middle fully exposing his forehead.
  4. Green eyes and having an average skin tone doesn't make him stand out much. Pretty average looking. You wouldn't think much of him if you just saw him walking down the road. Maybe a glance or two like any other stranger.
  5. He doesn't look very masculine, but you can definitely tell he's male when you look at him for a minute.
  6.
  7. Crayle isn't very fond of reading and especially isn't amazingly interested in magic, but he understands the opportunities and abilities it would add to his lifestyle.
  8. Given the opportunity and mood, however, he is capable of reading albeit, at a pretty average, or even below average pace. He tends to be unable to resist snagging a book he thinks contains any material that might be useful to him.. though he may never read it.
  9. It's often a battle between being too lazy to read, yet the desire to learn. Being lazy predominately takes over, but maybe down the road he'll learn some form of magic and use it to enhance his abilities.
  10. He first encountered magic
  11.
  12. Crayle refuses to drink and quite honestly hates taverns and normally avoids them. This is mostly due to him loathing extensive interaction, mind you, he doesn't hate talking to people, he just enjoys being left to himself.
  13. No real reason to avoid the drinking other than he doesn't like it. He also doesn't enjoy the company of those often intoxicated, opting to leave the room or forget about their existence for the time being.
  14.
  15. Crayle isn't a very needy or a picky person, sleeping where he can manage for the night, eating what he can, stealing what catches his eye.. As it currently stands he's mostly living his life out without any real clear goal.
  16. He tries to stay true to himself and keep his personality and check, but being alone consistently often makes him doubt not only his abilities, but what he's currently doing with his life at the moment.
  17. Thankfully, Mer Thorim might be the change of pace he is looking for from his mundane existence. Maybe finally meeting some people he can call a his friends in his life. Justifying this journey also by the map he's found and kept on his person for some time now.
  18.
  19. Crayle was brought up in a pretty average environment. Nothing really out of the ordinary, when he was younger he enjoyed talking to people and had many friends. As he got older he eventually started going out and communicating less and less.
  20. Eventually leaving a year or two ago to be by himself and figure out where he is going as a person. Travling has been rough, he's had to sleep where he can manage as well as eat. Because of this he's had to start opening back up to other people.
  21. Scamming when he *needs* to and using his words to get some temporary help.
  22.
  23.
  24.
  25.
  26.
  27.
  28. Mer Thorim interests Crayle for a couple reasons as it stands, he could very well gain more along his travels:
  29. 1) A change of pace. Crayle is in a boring patch of his life and is struggling to find what to do with himself. Mer Thorim could very well be the change of pace he is looking for.
  30. 2) His indecipherable map. Crayle found this map along his travels by himself. Unable to make it out, nor find anyone else to do it he keeps on wondering just what it's for. Perhaps this legend is where it leads, maybe it isn't.
  31.
  32.
  33. Personality Trait: Crayle isn't the strongest person and it's reflected in his sneaky (often considered unfair) approach to fighting. He typically refuses to be a leader in any circumstance and his own well-being is normally the number one
  34. priority because of this. He's not selfish, he just cares for himself. Jumping into a fight without a plan or advantage on the enemy is the last thing he would want, and more than likely would catch him off guard.
  35. Because of this low strength, Crayle often feels inferior to other people (slight inferiority complex). Feeling he isn't in the right place to challenge others. He is aware of his shortcomings and isn't afraid to admit that someone is stronger than him.
  36.
  37. Ideals: Being a weak person himself, Crayle finds empathy in others that are like him. Alone and not knowing what to do with themselves. He helps who he can, when it is convenient for him so it doesn't rub on his conscience in the future.
  38. Crayle is kind when it benefits him (not rubbing his conscience) but hardly unreasonable or evil. If he's scamming someone there is a good reason for it, normally one that benefits him, but a good reason nonetheless.
  39.
  40. Bonds:
  41.
  42. Flaws: Along with the personality trait he has, is also one of his flaws. If the situation looks unfavorable or there is a chance to do it in a better and safer way, Crayle will more often than not take that safer option.
  43. Since he normally sits back and observes people, Crayle feels like he understands people more than he really does, normally to his detriment, which also leads to running away. He'll get misguided by his own "instincts" and if he feels like he understands a persons intentions he is likely to not second guess them.
  44. During scams he's not the most confident sounding person, sometimes stuttering or stumbling over his words. Probably not the best approach to scamming someone, but it's how he is.
  45.
  46.
  47. Background Charlatan:
  48. Skill Proficiencies: Deception, Sleight of Hand
  49. Tool Proficiencies: Disguise kit, forgery kit
  50. Equipment: A set of fine clothes, a disguise kit, 5 corked bottles filled with different colored liquid, and a belt pouch containing 15gp
  51. Scam: Deception, making things appear worth more, or better than what they really are.
