background: Growing up in a very small town in Australia, there were obviously little things to do. She didn't have many friends as a child because she insisted that they were 'not strong enough to handle all of her personality'. While living in Australia, her aunt and uncle raised her as their own child because her mother had ditched her when she was little and her father had died in the military a few months before she was even born. Her aunt and uncle decided that they would move back to their hometown, Seoul, bringing her and their two children along with them. That's when she began to look into the idea of performing. She uploaded videos of her singing as a teenager and one of her videos must have gotten back to YG himself. He immediately wanted to recruit her. He got in contact with her through one of his assistants and with some convincing that they were really from YG and weren't scammers, she finally agreed to meet up with him at the YG building. She went there and after a few signatures, she was officially a trainee at YG Entertainment!
