- [14:50] <DM> So, continuing from when Juli pressed start on her server and they're both eating breakfast!
- [14:51] <DM> Juli, you see a few things. A-- Well, I'll let Strat explain his apartment.
- [14:54] <DM> Straaaaaaat
- [14:54] <Rovale_Althum> A barren, rather cramped affair with no lights and a single SPARKLINGLY pristine laptop sitting on a table with a bowl of cereal next to it. The cereal is being eaten by a young troll in a fine velvet suit, while three identical copies of himself loiter around the single room.
- [14:55] <DM> Yeah, that. You also get three options: Revise, Move, and Deploy. And you get a cursor.
- [14:55] <Rovale_Althum> Other features include cement flooring, holes in the walls, a recuperacoon, and a wooden bench the first troll is sitting on.
- [14:57] <Juli_Siucra> Fancy stuff. Juli messes around with the camera as best she can on her phone, making it spin around and do all sorts of sick ass stunts. It's unreal the amount of 180 turnarounds this kid is pulling off. Boring of this, she clicks through the options from right to left, starting with Deploy.
- [14:59] <DM> Deploy! You get the option to deploy four free items: a prepunched card, a cruxtruder, an alchemeter, and a totem lathe and -- OH! What was that??? Rovale hears a huge crash and his building shakes. Dust falls from the ceiling. Better go investigate.
- [14:59] * Rovale_Althum jumps. Oh no...
- [14:59] * Rovale_Althum abandons his cereal to investigate
- [15:01] <DM> You open your door and discover holes in the hallway ceiling. You can see daylight... But you're in a middle floor...
- [15:03] * Rovale_Althum drags his bench over to stand on it and look up through one of the holes
- [15:03] * Juli_Siucra in the meanwhile, deems it appropriate to open up the esperchum log again and tell her friend about the weird mobile game the album has turned into.
- [15:05] <DM> You definitely see the darkening sky of dusk... the Alternian sun in below the horizon and it's light has lessened, and the moon also beams. The rainbow sky of a setting sun is strange, considering this is not where the top of the building should be. You also see assorted rubble and furniture.
- [15:07] <Rovale_Althum> That's... not good at all. He looks around for any other inhabitants of the building who may have heard the commotion.
- [15:08] <DM> They're all eerily gone...
- [15:09] <Rovale_Althum> Then he should be too. If this building has been slated for demolition and he never got informed...
- [15:09] * Rovale_Althum captchalogues his bench, then dashes back into his room to gather up the rest of his meager possessions.
- [15:10] <DM> You get your computer, bench and the rest of it.
- [15:10] * Rovale_Althum absconds.
- [15:11] <DM> To?
- [15:11] <Juli_Siucra> DD: the album thingy is a mobile game thingy!!!
- [15:11] <Rovale_Althum> Outside. Anywhere.
- [15:12] <Rovale_Althum> By moving the table and laptop, they both lose their respective illusions and are reduced to a cardboard box and a dented old piece of junk, but at least they're his.
- [15:16] <DM> You go upstairs! Haha! foolish letting me decide. But yeah, you ascend the stairs and discover the rubble of the floor. And all the floors above it. It looks like something wiped the upper floors clean off the building. Juli's camera follows this. And, it also isn't dusk, lie you guessed. The sky isn't illuminated by a set sun, no, there's somethin
- [15:16] <DM> g else: meteors. Balls of rock and fire dot the sky. It looks like one crushed the upper layers of the building. You are on the roof now, crumbled walls all around. You spot a few musical instruments up here. The tenant above you must have been a musician
- [12:45] <DM> Roll Perception too
- [12:45] <Rovale_Althum> "Oh no, this is, not good, at all."
- [12:46] <Rovale_Althum> !Roll 1d20+1
- [12:46] <Kaiserbot[Dice]> rolled 1d20+1 --> [ 1d20=8 ] | {9}
- [12:47] <DM> You're able to spot a figure twitching on the floor. It certainly isn't a troll.
- [12:47] * Rovale_Althum and his doppelgangers hurry to the body.
- [12:47] <Rovale_Althum> "Hello, are you, alright, kind sir?"
- [12:47] * Rovale_Althum takes a closer look
- [12:48] <DM> You discover it's a Lusus! Crocodillian in nature.
- [12:49] <Rovale_Althum> Is... is there a troll it could belong to?
- [12:50] <DM> No, you're guessing they must have been taken off the side of the building.
- [12:51] <Rovale_Althum> That somehow makes this so much worse.
- [12:51] * Rovale_Althum absconds back downstairs and to an actual way to go outside.
- [12:51] <DM> You see the elevator.
- [12:52] <Rovale_Althum> This seems incredibly unsafe in an emergency, but fine. He still isn't feeling on top of the world, especially after all this running.
- [12:52] * Rovale_Althum takes the elevator
- [12:53] <DM> There is a long wait, then the door opens revealing... an empty shaft.
- [12:53] <Rovale_Althum> "No no, no no, this is, not good..."
- [12:54] * Rovale_Althum dashes for the stairs then
- [12:54] <DM> You feel another tremor. You have a feeling more meteors are coming down. Juli you have a feeling you should be helping.
- [12:55] * Juli_Siucra is not sure exactly how this mobile game works, but for the sake of helping, and because she's bored of watching the little units run around on screen, attempts to drop the totem lathe from the deploy menu.
- [12:56] <DM> You manage to drop it... right in front of the door to the stairs.
- [12:57] * Rovale_Althum jumps in fright, followed by taking a nervous look around to make sure nobody saw him do that
- [12:57] <DM> This is not going well for you two. Rovale, you see the lathe, it looks like a big box with a tube on top. A little wheel rests on the side of the tube.
- [12:57] * Juli_Siucra shrugs nonchalantly. They're just characters in the game, right? Though it is pretty cute how they animated the guy jumping in fright.
- [12:58] * Rovale_Althum frantically tries to push it out of the way of the door.
- [12:58] <Rovale_Althum> !Roll 1d20-1 Str
- [12:58] <Kaiserbot[Dice]> rolled 1d20-1 --> [ 1d20=12 ] | {11}
- [12:59] <DM> My bad, it's the lathe so it looks like a lathe
- [13:00] <DM> And, well. It's... heavy machinery so an 11 isn't gonna pull it my dude
- [13:01] * Rovale_Althum runs off in search of another way down
- [13:02] <DM> You could jump down the elevator shaft... but that's a long way down
- [13:02] * Juli_Siucra figures the game might have something to do with the characters using these machines? She drops the Cruxtuder therefore, though she makes sure to do so a little further away from the little guy, so as not to crush him.
- [13:02] <Rovale_Althum> A way he can survive please
- [13:03] <DM> You can't think of a way in your haste. The cruxtruder drops to the left of the elevator. It *actually* looks like a big box with a tube on top. A little wheel rests on the side of the tube.
- [13:04] <Rovale_Althum> Why does the guy from the floor above even have all these?!
- [13:04] * Rovale_Althum tries to figure out what this even IS
- [13:05] <DM> It... has a hatch on top? it looks like the object keeping the hatch down is connected to the wheel.
- [13:05] <DM> Very steampunk
- [13:05] <Rovale_Althum> Well, it's something
- [13:05] * Rovale_Althum spins the wheel
- [13:05] <Rovale_Althum> !Roll 1d20-1 again
- [13:05] <Kaiserbot[Dice]> rolled 1d20-1 --> [ 1d20=5 ] | {4}
- [13:05] <DM> You move it a fraction before your malnourished arms give our
- [13:05] <DM> out
- [13:06] * Rovale_Althum abandons it in favour of continuing to look for a way to survive
- [13:06] * Juli_Siucra figures it's a resource thingy that you gotta click on or spin around, like any other mobile game. She tries to spin the wheel with her finger.
- [13:07] <DM> Roll DEX
- [13:07] <Rovale_Althum> One of his clones makes a futile attempt to spin it as well, which fails because the clones have no physical form
- [13:07] <Juli_Siucra> !roll 1d20+3
- [13:07] <Kaiserbot[Dice]> rolled 1d20+3 --> [ 1d20=7 ] | {10}
- [13:08] <DM> Juli is able to turn it about halfway before her cursor slips off the wheel.
- [13:09] <DM> Rovale, you figure you're able to climb the Cruxtruder to get onto the top floor
- [13:09] <Rovale_Althum> Being on the top floor doesn't help him get down!
- [13:09] <DM> WELL IT'S SOMETHING
- [13:09] <Rovale_Althum> THIS IS TRUE
- [13:10] * Rovale_Althum tries to climb the cruxtruder to get back up
- [13:10] * Juli_Siucra pokes through the menus before realising: maybe the wheel can't be turned until she deploys everything else? She tries to deploy the Alchemiter, in the starting room if possible.
- [13:12] <DM> You notice the Crocodile squirming a bit. And there's some various horns and such on the ground, nothing too helpful. A smattering of gold blood rests on the ground.
- [13:12] <DM> And the Alchemeter is deployed in Rovale's apartment.
- [13:13] <Rovale_Althum> Oh no...
- [13:13] * Juli_Siucra drags the final free item in the deploy menu, the pre-punched card, over with the rest of the machines near the elevator.
- [13:13] * Rovale_Althum searches for any way down
- [13:14] <DM> There's a hole to your apartment where you could safely drop down, and the same hole to the hallway.
- [13:15] <Rovale_Althum> But there's nothing on that floor either...
- [13:15] * Rovale_Althum has absolutely no idea what to do
- [13:16] <DM> Well maybe you should mess with these machines
- [13:16] <DM> The card is dropped successfully
- [13:17] * Rovale_Althum guesses if there wasn't a body left up here, then his upstairs neighbour must have known SOMETHING he doesn't
- [13:17] * Rovale_Althum hops back down into his room to check out the latest one
- [13:17] * Juli_Siucra returns to the Cruxtuder on her screen, and tries to turn the wheel again, now that she's deployed everything.
- [13:18] <DM> http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/mspaintadventures/images/a/a1/RealAlchemiter.png/revision/latest?cb=20110112043213 Looks like this
- [13:18] <DM> Juli roll dex
- [13:18] <Juli_Siucra> !Roll 1d20+3
- [13:18] <Kaiserbot[Dice]> rolled 1d20+3 --> [ 1d20=2 ] | {5}
- [13:18] * Rovale_Althum tries to take the weird arm thing on it and see if he can activate what looks like a laser on the end of it
- [13:19] <DM> You turn it a smidge before your hand shakes and you're thrown off.
- [13:19] <DM> And the arm refuses to be moved. It moved on it's own accord thank you very much
- [13:20] <DM> It sassily refuses
- [13:20] * Juli_Siucra feeling frustrated and impatient, she tries tapping the stupid thing fervently.
- [13:20] * Rovale_Althum abandons it in favour of the next machine back at the stairs
- [13:20] <DM> Rovale hears the Cruxtruder bounce up and down in the other room
- [13:21] * Rovale_Althum gives the machine a nervous look, but still tries to use it once more
- [13:21] <Rovale_Althum> !Roll 1d20-1
- [13:21] <Kaiserbot[Dice]> rolled 1d20-1 --> [ 1d20=11 ] | {10}
- [13:22] <DM> You manage, with much strain, to turn the thing. Suddenly! A red orb pops out to greet you, accompanied by some static. And a cylinder, too! More friends. Unfortunately, a timer starts. It does not look good, giving you only 3:33 minutes and seconds to figure this out.
- [13:23] * Rovale_Althum stumbles back, afraid
- [13:23] <DM> It tries to communicate in garbled static.
- [13:24] <Rovale_Althum> But it's also a chance! He grabs at both the cylinder and the orb.
- [13:24] <DM> The orb hisses naughtily. No touchie. The cylinder, however, does not. You hear a thud in your apartment.
- [13:25] * Juli_Siucra disregards the timer, a stable of any mobile game that even faintly attempts to grab doubloons from your purse. Besides, three minutes isn't even that long to wait. Instead, she munches on another spoonful of sugary cereal, and taps on the orb experimentally.
- [13:25] * Rovale_Althum looks back and runs over to the machine-containing room that used to be his apartment
- [13:27] <DM> The orb also refuses Juli's touch. No touchie. Rovale, after stepping on the pre-punched card, runs into his room and discovers the Crocodile Lusus, fallen down the hole in the ceiling, and angry.
- [13:27] <DM> BEGIN STRIFE!
- [13:27] <DM> Roll initiative pls

- [13:31] == AndroUser2 has changed nick to Juli_Siucra
- [13:31] * Rovale_Althum slams the door shut and uses an illusion to replace that door with a wall

- [13:33] <Rovale_Althum> Worth a try! Rovale continues to run away, in favour of that other machine - the lathe
- [13:33] <DM> Oh. Are you on the other side of the slammed door?
- [13:33] <Rovale_Althum> Yes
- [13:34] <DM> Ohhhhhhh. Alright. You notice the lathe has a spot for both a captchalogue card and the cylinder you're holding.
- [13:34] * Juli_Siucra tries to help out the troll unit by clicking repeatedly on the savage croc. Maybe it's one of those clicker games?
- [13:34] <Rovale_Althum> That works!
- [13:35] * Rovale_Althum puts the dowel in along with a random captchalogue card from his sylladex
- [13:35] <DM> Nothing happens to Rovale, but Juli manages to pick up the gold croc
- [13:36] <Rovale_Althum> "Come on, come on, just work!"
- [13:36] <DM> You take a peek over at the timer: 2:23 left
- [13:36] * Juli_Siucra shakes it around, perhaps in the direction of the orb? Orb thing does look like a delete button thingy.
- [13:37] <DM> The orb is in the other room, so roll dex to get it through both ceiling holes and into the orb: DC 12

- [13:39] <DM> You manage to get it through both ceiling holes, but the orb avoids it. Meaning it's in the same room as Rovale. Rovale notices the angry croc which was just dropped, and also notices where he landed, on top of the PrePrunched Card
- [13:39] <Rovale_Althum> "Come on, are you, joking?"
- [13:40] * Rovale_Althum makes a new illusion and directs the two existing ones to scatter.

- [13:43] <DM> You manage to avoid the croc and it runs into the wall. It is now prone. You also snatched the card
- [13:43] * Juli_Siucra tries to drag the croc into the orb thing again. Orb thing is portal thing?
- [13:44] <DM> Orb is good. Roll DEX
- [13:44] <Juli_Siucra> !Roll 1d20+3
- [13:44] <Kaiserbot[Dice]> rolled 1d20+3 --> [ 1d20=19 ] | {22}
- [13:45] <DM> You manage to throw the Croc into the KernelSprite and the orb does some insanely bright flashes before a shilloutte of the croc shows up in the circle
- [13:45] <DM> And Rovale still has the card
- [13:45] * Rovale_Althum puts the card into the lathe
- [13:46] <DM> The lathe carves the dowel!
- [13:46] <DM> it is now a ~groovy~ cylinder
- [13:47] * Rovale_Althum looks around for what to do now. Wait, the third machine is free now that the crocodile smashed into the wall and went... somewhere. He brings it to the alchemiter
- [13:48] <DM> The Alchemeter has a spot for your dowel!
- [13:48] * Juli_Siucra watches the eager little unit go. She doesn't really totally understand what just happened, but the game is doing stuff so.. It's pretty cool.
- [13:48] * Rovale_Althum puts the dowel on, and also makes another new clone
- [13:50] <DM> The Alchemiter scans the dowel and recognizes it. Suddenly, a full salon scene is made out of thing air. It looks like it's comprised of the same material the dowel was made out of. You have a pair of scissors sitting in front of a mirror, and then a chair with a faceless figure with what looks to be a wig on top
- [13:51] * Rovale_Althum stares for precious seconds.
- [13:51] * Rovale_Althum ... cuts the hair?
- [13:53] <DM> In those precious seconds, a small shard of meteor comes through the ceiling! It creates a fairly big hole, and hits the mannequin straight in the head, sending the weave flying! Snatched!!! The wig flies over to the other room, through the door, and it rests on the edge of the elevator shaft. As you hold your breath for one second, it falls into t
- [13:53] <DM> he shaft. You also catch a glance through the ceiling hole, it looks like a fairly large meteor is seconds away from impact, and things are heating up.
- [13:56] * Rovale_Althum absconds. A way down is a way down.
- [13:56] * Rovale_Althum jumps down the elevator shaft after the wig
- [13:57] <DM> You take a look at the timer. 0:05. You pass the kernel sprite. You descend into the elevator and notice the wig below you.
- [14:01] <Rovale_Althum> As he descends into the darkness, Rovale decaptchalogues his bench and takes hold of the legs on one end, holding the rest of it below. He then attempts to catch the wig on one of the far legs
- [14:02] <DM> The weave is snatched!
- [14:02] * Rovale_Althum yanks it up!
- [14:02] <DM> You're holding it now... uh... Do something!
- [14:03] * Rovale_Althum CUTS THE HAIR!
- [14:04] <DM> As you cut the hair, the wig lights up, and the light fills the elevator shaft. You feel your stomach flutter for a bit. End Entry
