00:11     In this video, we will be looking at how to set up your website. I will be taking you through the process of buying your domain, and editing your site. It's relatively simple, and every business should have a website or a landing page. This allows the customer to see more information about you. About what you do, and it often shows how professional you are.

Let's get started.

00:39     So, I am going to be taking you through this process with Namecheap.com. You can use any provider, but I find Namecheap to be the easiest and fastest. The domains are cheap, and we are looking at spending around $25 for a year in total. This includes the hosting for the website.

01:00     Okay, let's start by buying our domain. You first need to have a domain name in mind. Likely it will be your business name.  I will search for the domain name. Blockchain Development Services. We want a .com domain as it is the most professional. Scroll down and look for the .com. As you can see here, the .com address is already taken.

01:28     We can change our domain name search or edit it to just Dev. Now you can see we have the .com domain listed. And it is only $8.88 per year. This is the standard cost for most domains that are not in use. To choose the domain, just add to cart. Then you will be given some options. Ignore all of them except for the web hosting. This means that namecheap will provide the server. And we will also have C Panel access. This saves a lot of messing about.

02:06     We can basically make a website, and have it online very quickly. We also get an SSL certificate installed on the site. This is the lock icon that users see. It shows that your website is trusted.

02:21     Okay, so click on web hosting and you will see some options. I always choose the basic Stellar option.It is cheap and allows you 3 websites. Click to add that to the cart. Now we can click on view cart.

02:43     We can either choose to confirm order. Or we can edit our buy.The cost so far is just $11.94. That is for 1 year of our domain name. I would suggest to change the monthly payments to yearly. It will save you money in the long run. And stop you having to think about the payment each month. Our total price for 1 year domain name and website hosting is just $26.34. Once you have paid this, you no longer need to think about payments for your site for a year. Okay, click on confirm order. I will not be buying this domain. But I will show you what happens next, using my current domain.

03:35     In your dashboard, you will see your new domain. It will show the stellar icon. You can then hover over the icon and click on, go to C Panel. It will then redirect you to the C Panel.  In the top options box. Click on Website Builder. Then choose the domain name you want to make a website for.

03:56     Here we will look at my website landing page. The difference between a landing page and a website. Is that a website provides a lot more details. And users can navigate from page to page. A landing page is specific to what you what the user to see. You don't want the user to get lost with too many options. So a landing page focuses on getting the user to click on a link or provide details only.

04:28     Okay, so now the editor is open. You can choose to install a template. And then edit that template to suit your needs. I just took a simple website template and deleted 99%. Just leaving the essentials. That way most of the hard stuff was done already. You may wish to spend more time on yours. Make it informative, stylish and reflect your business brand image.

04:55     So, it's down to you to edit your website, but this is very basic. You can add your favicon icon here. You have options to add blocks, images, videos etc.

05:12     When you are ready to publish, click on publish. When you want to see the changes made, just click on preview. It's really quite simple and easy to do.
