>Daisy, the self-titled "human expert" points out that apparently it's Thanksgiving back on Earth.
>You had lost track with all the different timescales and terms used locally so you weren't aware.
>Wave Runner decided to hold a group meal in a park of a neutral city after Daisy talked to her about it.
>Daisy insists that you ride on her back to get there because mechs are ‘too militarized and destructive to drive around here.’
>Yeah, right, you WISH your mech was as destructive as she was just walking down a street.
>Once you got there, Squad Leader Wave Runner rolled her eyes and gave an order.
>One of the squad members presents you your own universal translator for when you’re away from your mech.
>Plug the earpiece in just in time to hear Daisy bragging.
>"I told you I'd get him on top of me some day."
>One of the squadmates notices that you have your own translator now.
>"Uh, Daisy..."
>She isn't listening.
>"I have tamed the fearsome human, top predator of the terror planet, Earth. Look upon my works ye mighty, and despair!"
>You notice Wave sigh in the middle of her conversation alongside a few other squad members.
"I heard that."
>Daisy turns her head around in a flash.
>You haven't seen the expression of horror on her face as she looks at you, still standing on her back, since training.
>That's right, be afraid, be very afraid; you don't need to have your mech around in order to understand her anymore.
>She starts insisting that you climb down so you can enjoy the time forming bonds with your squadmates while she goes and gets drinks.
>Riiight.
 >Eventually everyone huddles together and a little table was made available for you.
>According to Hoofstep, this wasn't actual turkey but some kind of look alike local fauna.
>It tasted like ham.
>Wave Runner cleared her throat and began.
>"So, this holiday is called for the purpose of reflection and giving thanks. What are you thankful for?"
>You glanced up uncertainly, craning your neck to see Daisy's face as you noticed she and Wave Runner were looking right at you.
"Well-"
>Suddenly drowned out by a torrent of responses from everyone else.
>"For victory!"
>"For music!"
>"For Earth flowers!"
>"For being huge and having huge guns!"
>Kind of expected that from someone with the callsign "Big Bounty."
>Finally everyone wait expectantly for your piece.
"I'm... I'm thankful for you guys."
>A collection of d'aws, come from the rest of the squad.
"Traveling the stars, meeting allies, doing all this stuff, like, making friends with giant colorful mares from space, it was all impossible only months ago."
>Daisy looks like she's going to cry.
>Wave Runner nods in approval.
>"I, am thankful for a few things; my place in our great military, the squad that I have, and the best meat-eating auxiliary unit around, our human!"
>You beam proudly until you see Daisy lift a forehoof up.
>Immediately, you remember how giant alien horses applaud.
>Nonononono!
>She starts stomping her hooves, soon followed by the rest.
>The ground quakes hard enough to send your table flopping over.
>They can't hear you over the booming and cheering.
>No choice but to ride it out until they stop.
>Daisy owes you a new space turkey now.
