  1. The Mark-Recapture Technique, was fairly accurate as it gave us an estimate
  2. of our population as we had 200 beans and the calculations in this trail all were
  3. extremely close to 200 with two of our trails resulting in the exact population. However, The Removal Method was
  4. inaccurate shown through the log R-values. The disadvantage of The Mark -Recapture
  5. Technique is that it depends exclusively on capturing large populations. This along with the possible changes that the animals can experience in the marking process. Advantages of The Mark Recapture Technique are that its accuracy does not depend on the evaluation of the amount of habitat. The Removal Method is most useful when you are unable or it is unpractical to count all the individuals in the population. The disadvantage of The Removal Method is that there has to be an area of containment to carry out the area of removal meaning there has to be a place for them to place and contain the captured animals away from the population to avoid recounting. There was evidence of systematic sampling bias in The Removal Method as there was an over or under estimation of the Sampling statistics. In The Mark-Recapture Technique, there was no evidence of a difference in the
  6. traceability of black and pinto beans. If I were in charge of estimating the population
  7. sizes of the North Atlantic Cod, I would make an estimate using The Mark Recapture Technique, as I couldn't capture the cod but it would be better to simply mark the cod so there's no worry of damaging the cod population. I believe that the possible sources ofsampling bias that may have occurred during fishery surveys if the Atlantic Cod stocks were grossly overestimated in the past would be to based on the location of which the sample was taken from.
