Prom night.
The highpoint of any high school seniors school-life.
Unless, ofcourse, you're a dork, nerd, wimp, etc. etc.
He was one of them.
One of those outcasts no one wanted to interact with unless they were shoving him in a locker or throwing him in a dumpster. So he wouldn't go to prom. He'd known that for years. What would he do there? He'd just end up getting dunked in a toilet or someone would "accidentally" spill their punch on him.
He wasn't going to prom.
But she was.
Cordelia Johnson. They had spanish together. He'd talked to her once, when she asked him when the assignment was due. She was so perfect. If he had gone to prom he wished it would have been with her.
So he waited. With a boquet of roses. He knew she didn't have a date since her boyfriend had cheated on her with one of the cheerleaders. So he thought he could at least talk to her, tell him he was sorry she'd dated a jerk and then go back home.
But she'd laughed and called him a nerd.
And he'd realized how ugly she was.
He'd understood it all. She wasn't beautiful or perfect at all. But she could be.

Three days later the news reported that the missing girl Cordelia Johnson had been found, only three blocks away from her home. Her entire torso cut open, entrails torn out of her to accomodate a boquet of beautiful, red roses...
