  1. We have succeeded again. But for me, it is a bitter victory. I taught the Vagabond a lesson, and I danced with my lady tonight, but it changes little. Still she hounds after the rustblood, and still I am left to my own devices.

  3. My lady was vicious in battle this evening. Her arrows lanced through the armor of many a troll, I saw how many she felled. My wing-guns could not have competed with her tenacity tonight.

  5. She pities him. He is an unkempt, untrustworthy cur, and yet she pities him. It maddens me! I cannot comprehend their relationship. Perhaps I do not have to, perhaps it is not my place. Yet my thoughts return to them again and again; I cannot even exposit upon my lady's achievements without being interrupted with their flushed feelings. It may be best if I slept for now.
