  1. Frost pages: Met Muir the other day. He introduced himself by saying he might try to force himself on me because he is Rokea. I've never met a Rokea before.
  2. Journey looks to Alecto, and smiles, nodding, "Of course, Alecto, anytime, you know that." He gestures her over, nodding to her approach and looks to Frost, pointing to Alecto, "Tell her." He takes a step back, and rubs his head, looking thoughtful but not blurting out anything, just.. Philodox is here to weigh what he just learned.

  18. <OOC> Journey is an expert Sushi chef. This will come in handy.
  19. <OOC> Frost laughs!
  20. <OOC> Catherine is very afraid :)
  21. Alecto nods to Furio. "True. You are not a Garou. Even with all your powers. We cannot choose our breeding anymore than we can choose whether or not we are born Garou or kin or mage." She smiles at Frost, but then that smile fades. She goes from moderately pleasant to looking like she MIGHT rip someone's face off, REAL quick. She is just as quick to turn that look FROM Frost and toward Journey. "Where will I find it?" she asks through gritted teeth. One success on rage it might have been, but that doesn't stop her from wanting to make shark fin soup.
  22. Catherinepauses by Furio. "Just tired," she says, patting his arm. "Thanks for asking. Might be tme to go out in the desert for a bit." Alecto's reaction to the news, whatever the news is, doesn't go unnoticed It'd be hard to miss for one. "Just tired. Lots of walking today and dealing with dramas." she pats Furio's arm again and heads for her car.
  23. <OOC> Catherine runs off for sleep. Thanks for the rp folks! Y'all have fun:)
  24. <OOC> Journey waves
  25. Catherine has voted for you.
  26. Catherine has voted for you.
  27. Catherine goes home.
  28. Catherine has left.
  29. You have voted for Catherine
  30. You have voted for Catherine
  31. You paged Frost with 'OOCly, do you have a log of that scene?'
  32. Journey looks at Alecto, and closes his eyes, turning westward, and sighs, opening his eyes and looking back to Alecto, "I believe he is back at sea at the moment, it's where they return to when they're not making forays on land. He's been more active in the area recently though. I had never expected this of him, but I could see him saying it. He's that kind of thick."
  33. From afar, Frost doesn't unfortunately.
  34. Long distance to Frost: Alecto nods. Okay. When did it happen?
  35. Fury watches Catherine go, then looks back to Alecto just in time to see her expression. "Jesus, what'd I do -now-?" he asks, his hand straying towards his shirt pocket. But... she's not upset with him. He doesn't think. He looks between everyone gathered and just shuts up. That's probably the safest course.
  36. Frost pages: Last week, inside the Kin house. And OOCly yes, he wasn't being menacing it was just...nearly literally, "Hi, I'm Muir, I might try and force myself on you, but I have good self control so that shouldn't happen. Just let me know if I get creepy." Which...for a young kin was like WHUUUU?
  37. Frost swallows as she watches Alecto, wincing a little bit as her hands move again. It seems they're a little more, though she is certainly hesitant to relay it at the moment. There's a pause as her hands move, then stop, then pick up once more. She looks at Catherine as she departs, giving her a slightly tense smile before looking back.
  38. Frost pages: (IC) It was...unsettling, but he didn't seem mean. I don't know. I don't know Rokea.
  39. Alecto takes a deep breath and looks up at the sky, her eyes slippping closed for a long moment and then her head snaps around to Furio. "Excuse me? Unless you are a Rokea in a kinmage skin, this has nothing to do with you." She manages to focus back on Frost, taking at least a little of that murderous look out of her face and she nods, just once, tersely. "If he comes near you again, let me know immediately and I will twist his head right off his body and feed it back to his fucking precious Sea." Oooh, lupus maaaaad.
  40. Branton has arrived.
  41. (re for Branton, because you can't miss THAT)
  42. Journey lifts a hand, palm out in Furios direction, and just shakes his head once. Don't go there fellow male, there be She Dragons there. He looks back to Alecto and sighs, "There are certainly options that can be considered." He nods, yep. Holding himself steady in the face of the Rage of a Black Fury.
  43. Writing reality out to disk. Please wait...
  44. Reality saved. Thank you for your patience.
  45. Fury frowns a bit at that. "I -can- be," he says to Alecto. "Do you -need- me to be? 'cause I -can- be. Big fish is easy." He pauses. "Well... not really -easy-, but I can -do- it." He glances between the two, crossing his arms across his chest. Now he's starting to get that surly look he's so well known for. But the gesture from Journey has him heaving a sigh. He moves a good ways away from the Black Fury and her Kin, diggins his smarphone out of his pocket and studying the screen briefly.
  46. Branton comes walking out of the woods for once, instead of driving up in his truck. He isn't real good at reading people but he knows Alecto personally well enough to stop wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy back from the porch.
  47. You paged Branton with 'Probably mauled by wolf pups out there'
  48. Frost nods meekly to what Alecto says, in no shape or form going to disagree with that one. She does reach up and tuck her hair behind her ear before the motions of a sigh before she gestures to the house then signs something else. Up on the porch her little screech owl has finished his snacks on the railing and has scooted to the far end; his eyes focusing on Alecto as well, scrunching down slightly.
  49. Frost pages: He seems to come here a lot with lobster gifts. I have my ring now though, so I can go back to the dorm.
  50. Branton pages: legit
  51. Branton has voted for you.
  52. Branton has voted for you.
  53. Frost has voted for you.
  54. Frost has voted for you.
  55. Furio has voted for you.
  56. Furio has voted for you.
  57. Alecto is in total control of herself. That doesn't change the fact that she's angry. She manages to reach out and GENTLY take Frost's hand, examining the ring. She gives her a little smile. TIght though it is, it's QUITE sincere. "You may go back to the dorm if you promise to check in daily with myself or Branton, please. And you must promise to never take that ring off unless you are among family. I will.. speak.. to this fish and make sure he is no threat to you or any other kin." Then once she's managed to pull herself back in, she turns her gaze to Furio. Calmly, she says, "Why would I want you to take the form of a fish? And why are you crossing your arms and acting like a very large child? And why did you just assume that I was angry at you? Do you expect this of people? Do you WANT people to be upset with you? Just now, you said two very stupid things and I don't believe that you are a stupid man. You are a powerful mage who has talent and skill beyond any that the Garou will ever be able to possess, but you act like a child. Stop it. Immediately. Or else air your grievances for all to hear and know that I will hear them out without consequence to you."
  58. <OOC> Alecto says, "Sorry. That one got long"
  59. Alecto also makes a gesture toward Frost
  60. Long distance to Frost: Alecto signs, "I am not angry with you."
  61. <OOC> Alecto says, "Quick afk"
  62. Branton offers Frost a small wave when he hears his name mentioned but otherwise keeps his distance and his head on a swivel.
  63. Journey stands off to the side, looking at Alecto anf Frost and Furio in turn, just observing at the moment.
  64. Fury's expression grows darker and darker, tapping his foot as he listens to Alecto. "Yeah, see. Here's the problem with that. Every time I -do- try an' air my grievances, I'm bein' the uppity, disrespectful Kinfolk who don't know what he's talkin' 'bout," he says. "So I keep gettin' all these mixed signals. An' while I -could- just read everyone's minds an' figure out what I should be doin', that -is- disrespectful. An' unethical." He grunts. "So. Yeah. I'ma just stand here, okay? Anything I say's just gonna piss someone off, an I -really- don't feel like workin' Code t'night."
  65. Frost nods quickly to what Alecto says, and gives her an apologetic smile to what she signs. She lets her take as much of a look at the ring as she likes before she signs again. Looking to Branton as he waves her expression brightens at the new face, waving back at him.
  66. Frost pages: Thank you Elder. I just don't like causing distress.
  67. Halle has arrived.
  68. Alecto gives Frost a little pat and shake of her head before she gestures and then gives her a very light push in Branton's direction. Turning back to Furio, she opens her arms. "I am the Truthcatcher of this sept. I am an Elder. I have given you permission to air your grievances. Right now, what I see, with the petulant look that you are giving me is an uppity, disrespectful kinfolk. But surely there is a reason for this. Speak if you wish. I cannot help you if you don't. Saying things like 'I could just read everyone's minds' that sounds like a reason for us to WORRY about you, rather than embrace you. You may speak, or you may hold your tongue as you wish, but if you do NOT speak, then you should IMMEDIATELY wipe that sullen expression off your face and behave. And also, threatening to use your code against a Garou for ANY reason makes me want to slap the shit out of you." She is calm. Perfectly calm. Not that scary calm that Garou get when they're too angry to shake. She's just being very matter of fact.
  69. You paged Frost with 'Go stand by Branton, please.'
  70. Halle emerges from around the back of the Kinfolk House. She's wearing normal attire, jeans and a gauzy top, though is going barefoot at the moment. She has a few bags that look like they came from a farm market, full of fruit and vegetables. Halle glances up, apparently having heard the last bit of conversation, and slows her approach while she listens to find out better what is happening.
  71. <OOC> Alecto says, "I guess I SHOULD ask if anyone else here knows ASL"
  72. <OOC> Branton says, "newp"
  73. Branton beckons Frost over to join him off the porch "Hey there. I'm Branton, Sorcerer-kin and Artificer of the Black Fury tribe."
  74. Journey stands there, looking between Furio and Alecto, giving Branton a nod of acknowledgement when he speaks, and tururn his attention back to the conversation.
  75. <OOC> Halle would understand it.
  76. Fury straightens his spine. Shoots Journey a look, then back to Alecto. She told him he could. So he does. "Okay. Fine." He starts ticking off on his fingers. "I've personally developed, implemented an' funded high-level security encryption for every smart device in our Nation. Stuff that would have the CIA creamin' their shorts to get ahold of if they knew it existed. Made it available to everyone, free of charge. An' I was happy to do it." Tick. "I faced down a Black Spiral Dancer an' six fomori, with only one other Kinmagi backin' me up. Got tore the fuck up doin' it, but I -wasted- his ass. An' I was happy to do that too." Tick. "I've given vision, support, an' assistance to this sept for goin' on three years now. Every single time, -happy- to do it." Tick. "I donate my time, my skills, my powers, an' my resources to contribute to the security an' defense of our territory. All things I could be doin' to further my own development. But I'm happy to do it." He sets his hands on his hips. "So when someone snaps at me--Elder or not, don't matter--all because I express some concern over a fellow Kinfolk's situation... then yeah. I take issue with that. I think I deserve better." He fixes Alecto with his gaze--or rather her chin. Even now, he doesn't issue the challenge of eye contact. "It's true what you said. I -am- powerful. An' those powers I offer freely to the Sept of Endurin' Spirit. For my family an' friends, an' for our Blessed Mother." He pauses. "An' I wasn't talkin' about workin' Code on -you's- guys. I was -talkin'- about defendin' -myself-. An' hearin' you make that kinda snap judgement makes me wanna slap the shit outta -you-." Well. At least he's honest. He grunts. "Well. You told me to air my grievances. There. I aired 'em." His hand tightens around his smartphone on instinct.
  77. Halle pages: Think so anyway... Universal Tongue, can speak with and understand any living creature. I'm guessing if a wolf's posture and expression can be understood, ASL would work similarly? Never considered it before.
  78. Frost nods to Alecto, turning and going towards Branton at a nicely paced stride. She looks over her shoulder, clucking her tongue at the little owl cowering on the porch, holding her hand up so the leather cuff is available to land on. He gets to her about the time she gets to Branton, and the two of them park by the other kin's side. She digs into her back pocket, pulling out a little rumpled notepad that she scribbles in then shows to him.
  79. You paged Halle with 'Yeah, that works. She just told Frost to go stand by Branton'
  80. Brooke has arrived.
  81. Halle has voted for you.
  82. Halle has voted for you.
  83. Heidi has arrived.
  84. <OOC> Heidi waves.
  85. <OOC> Journey waves
  86. <OOC> Halle says, "Hey there"
  87. <OOC> Heidi says, "Hey ;)"
  88. :bows back at Frost and grins at the owl when they reach his position out on the lawn, near the fire pit as it happens. He reads what she wrote and grins "Hi Evie, Bubo. Pleased to meet you both." Apparently addressing the owl like its a person, because as far as he knows it might be. Furio, Alecto and Journey are having a talk up on the porch.
  89. <OOC> Branton says, "erp"
  90. Branton bows back at Frost and grins at the owl when they reach his position out on the lawn, near the fire pit as it happens. He reads what she wrote and grins "Hi Evie, Bubo. Pleased to meet you both." Apparently addressing the owl like its a person, because as far as he knows it might be. Furio, Alecto and Journey are having a talk up on the porch.
  91. Alecto listens to Furio, her fingers laced together in front of her body just listening. "That's fair," she says of the last. "However, I did not say ON us. I said AGAINST us. No one is going to attack you, Furio. Now. Continue with your words. You say thta you've done all this. And I'm sure that we are grateful. So why are you angry?"
  92. Halle walks over to join those on the porch, though keeping an eye and ear on the conversation between Alecto and Furio. "Evening," she says with a friendly smile. "Anyone want a piece of fruit?" she asks, holding up one of the bags from the farmer's market that has a bunch of fruit accessible at the top. "There are some mangos in there, and some kiwi, which I'm told it's ok to eat the skin of though it looks like fur to me," she offers with a grin.
  93. Brooke arrives to come hang out for the evening, and is surprised quite so many are here. She gives a wave to those that see her, but remains quiet as she sees Elders are talking with Furio, and she keeps her distance and spies the fruit from Halle. "That sounds lovely."
  94.
  95. It happens that Heidi has been staying at the kinfolk house lately - because it's terribly convenient place to crash, and there are so few perks that kinfolk can truly take advantage of! The first evidence of her approach will be the rumbling of the black truck that she's driving, whose driver's side door is emblazoned with the emblem of the Get owned, Black Eagle PMC. She pulls up into the driveway, parking just outside the garage, and then kills the engine, clambering out and giving a tiny stretch. Her amber blonde hair is a bit messy, drawn back in a ponytail and hidden beneath a baseball cap - the brim of which shades her eyes as they widen with a hint of interest at seeing all the wolves afoot.
  96. Heidi just looked at you.
  97. <OOC> Branton says, "Halle, Alecto and Journey and Furio are the ones on the Porch. Frost and Branton are by the fire pit."
  98. <OOC> Heidi says, "Noted!"
  99. Journey keeps quiet as Alecto and Furio speak, he's standing nearby listening with clear interest even if he remains silent.
  100. <OOC> Halle says, "Ah, thanks, Halle to the fire pit then."
  101. Frost relaxes a little more now that she's got a bit of distance between her and the conversation going on by the porch. She smiles at Branton, writing in her little notepad before showing him again. The owl on her shoulder seems to want none of what's going on over there, hop-flapping his way up her shoulder to burrow in her hair; bright yellow eyes peeping out.
  102. Fury draws a deep breath. His grip on his phone relaxing a bit. "I'm angry because, no matter what I do, no matter how hard I try, anyone with a rank has carte blanche to treat me like I'm nothin'. Because the greenest Cliath can threaten my life without reprisal, heap whatever kinda abuse they want on me, an' everyone else is -perfectly okay with this-." He draws another slow breath. Keeping himself calm and collected. "I know I'll never hold rank. I'll never be equal in the Nation's eyes. I know that. I accept it. But that don't mean I don't deserve a -little- respect." He shakes his head. "I coulda walked away from the Nation when I Awakened. Left it all behind, an' joined up with the Council. I've had the Virtual Adepts -beggin'- me to take command o' the Kerensky orbital facility for years. Somewhere where -I'd- be the one callin' the shots. But I will never, ever do that. Because the Nation is my home. My family. My -blood-. An' I'll always be proud to be part of it." He spreads his hands, an expression of quietly angry sorrow on his face. "I've fought, I've suffered, I've -bled- for our Nation. I just want you's guys to be proud o' -me-."
  103. Alecto nods slowly, still listening, even maybe looking a little sympathetic. "How many Garou have threatened you, Furio? Seriously threatened you? Not 'I'm going to slap the shit out of you' like I just did. I did not mean that literally. I mean, how many times have you believed, through direct action of another Garou that you were HONESTLY in danger?" The other stuff, she dismisses. What COULD be is irrelevant. It's what IS
  104. Writing reality out to disk. Please wait...
  105. Reality saved. Thank you for your patience.
  106. Halle pulls out a kiwi and tosses it over to Brooke. "Here you go," Halle tells her. "Hope you're doing well tonight?" Halle glances over to the owl that is sitting on Frost's shoulder. "And did I hear right that your name is Bubo? You have one here whose tribe holds Owl in very high regard," Halle says to the owl, and motioning with her head towards where Journey stands. "Hello Evie," Halle says, giving Frost a smile then. "Would you like a piece of fruit?" Halle glances towards the vehicle as it arrives, flashing a smile of greeting towards Heidi before looking back to Frost.
  107.
  108. Heidi inclines her head just the slightest fraction, seeming to have arrived at the porch just in time to overhear the really interesting stuff! It always thrills her to see a kinfolk standing up to the wolves, especially when neither of them are her tribe or extended family and she can take a certain safe, vicarious interest in it. She also can't help but empathize, because her own company, the Black Eagle, was basically formed by a bunch've old kinfolk veterans, who were at least a little bitter about the whole guns vs claws for defending Gaia debate!
  109. She leans her slender shoulder up against one of the porch posts, briefly glancing in the direction of the firepit, and then back towards Furio and Alecto. She waits for a beat in the conversation, and then she confides to him with quiet sincerity, "...What's an orbital facility?"
  110. Branton shrugs off his backpack and digs out a pouch of trailmix. Pouring some in his hand (a mix of nuts, seeds, bits of jerky, and dried fruit), offering it to Bubo "Might be something in here you'd like. Or some of Halle's fruit, not sure what eating habits go with which type of owl."
  111. Sending WHO request.
  112. <OOC> Alecto says, "One more quick AFK"
  113. Journey keeps his position, watching the conversation, just taking in what's being said, interested.
  114. Brooke catches the kiwi. "Thanks!" She smiles and adds, "I'm doing great. Thank you." She joins the others by the fire pit.
  115.
  116. Frost smiles, reaching up to extract her owl from under her hair, careful of his sharp pointy talons as she holds him towards Branton's offering. The poor thing looks torn between keeping an eye on what's going on and eating, but stomach wins out and he starts helping himself to the offering. He warbles between bites, but seems to be relaxing as he stuffs his face. Smiling Evie shakes her head at the offer of fruit, using her other hand to sign as she mouths 'thank you' but declines.
  117. <OOC> Alecto says, "back"
  118. <OOC> Frost unfortunately needs to eat dinner, so will fade into the background.
  119. <OOC> Alecto nodsnods. If you're still going to stick around ICly, feel free to idle or whatever. Alecto will want to talk to you
  120. <OOC> Frost says, "Ok. :)"
  121. Fury opens his mouth to respond to Alecto, but then there's Heidi. He looks over at her, then grunts. "It's a space station. In the Umbra. They do a lotta R&D up there," he says. He looks back to Alecto. "Dragomir," he says firmly. "He come at me Crinosed up, lookin' ready to tear me a new one. I got no doubt if Billy hadn't been there to talk 'im down, he woulda tried. All over a miscommunication." He grunts. "Brooke's threatened my life to my face. As if murderin' someone they don't like was okay. Well, it -ain't- okay. I ain't the enemy. I never -have- been. I never been nothin' but loyal to this sept. An' I shouldn't have to walk on eggshells around my family."
  122. Alecto holds up a finger. "I cannot attest to what Brooke did or did not say, but it is my understanding that you completely misread Dragomir's growling in Crinos moments after a battle. Have you begun your lessons on learning the Garou langauge with Billy yet?" That finger DOES pivot around in Brooke's direction, as if to hold her off for the moment, though she never takes her eye off Furio.
  123. Brooke is eating from the sweet kiwi, when she hears her name. Her eyes look up toward it, and sees the finger held up from Alecto. She just stops. Not moving, just suprised.
  124.
  125. Journey gives this the full 'Tennis Match' treatment, looking from Furio to Alecto and back, a look to Brooke then back to Alecto and then Furio.
  126. Halle sets down the bags and gets herself one of the kiwis as well. She nibbles at it uncertainly as if not knowing if she's going to like it or not. After the first little bite though she seems to enjoy it enough to take another. As she eats in tiny bites, she keeps an eye on the other conversation.
  127. You paged Journey with 'Did you want to chat before you go nini?'
  128.
  129. Heidi's quiet curiosity transitions into a heady mix of faint disbelief and exquisite bafflement. A space station. In the Umbra!? She blinks her slate gray eyes a couple times, remaining silent as she processes this, while Furio and Alecto continue their exchange. She's distracted by the pointing of a finger towards the kiwi-eating Brooke, who becomes that much more intriguing for having apparently been threatening to kill people, while totally not looking like the type!
  130. She waits until Alecto is asking Brooke a question, and then she murmurs to Furio, "You could command a magic space station, and you'd rather be here?" She shrugs her slim shoulders, "I mean. S'fine place and all..." She'd command the magic space station.
  131. <OOC> Alecto says, "Not pointing at. Held up to. Like 'wait a moment, please'"
  132. Branton nods at Frost and grins at Bubo "Timitheíte se sas paidí tis Athinás." Then to Frost he adds "Is this your familiar? Or are you theirs?" Branton has a bit of attention for the conversation on the porch but he's focusing on Frost for the moment.
  133. <OOC> Heidi says, "Gesturing of a finger in the general direction of, is what I intended, of course ;)"
  134. <OOC> Alecto nodsnods. Just clarifying
