Covet: Cadence was sitting with Remy in the waiting room, anticipating being called back for her appointment. Her stomach was in knots and was trying to crawl up her throat at this point. She had the dark circles under her eyes, because she hadn't slept much last night, and was looking pretty miserable. She kept wringing her hands together, taking deep breaths trying to keep the nauseous feeling at bay.
Tsaaq: Remy was watching Cadence closely. He scratched his beard a few times nervously then lowered his hand to hers and squeezed it a little. "Stop worrying please. I'm sure it's nothing." He said to her quietly.
Covet: "I'm trying..." She told him as she took his hand, holding it tightly. // The nursing assistant came out with a clipboard and spoke out, "Cadence Berkoff?" // Cadence looked up but didn't stand immediately or say anything, then after a long moment she realized she needed to move. "That's me..." She didn't let go of Remy's hand as the Nurse directed them to one of the exam rooms.
Tsaaq: "You're driving yourself crazy. I hate seeing you like this." Remy said. He went to walk with her towards the exam rooms. "Thank you ma'am." He said with a lazy wave once they reached their destination.
Covet: She mumbled back to him, "Babe, I was crazy before I started driving." // The nurse pointed to the table/bed, "Have a seat, I just need to do some vitals real quick. How have you been feeling?" // Cadence climbed up on the bed and took a deep breath. "Nauseous still, but not throwing up as much, at least two or three times a day though. It happens if I stand up too quick, or turn around fast. I've been doing my best to keep at least water down when I can." She looked over at Remy biting her lip while the nurse got her BP and her temp. // "Blood pressure is a little high, as is your temperature, but not alarmingly so." The nurse said writing a few things down, "I need you to take your shoes off so I can weigh you then I'll get the doctor, she should be in shortly."
Tsaaq: He hurriedly took a seat and sighed. He really wanted to help he calm down but she was still all anxious and stuff. Remy's eyes widened as he looked between the nurse and Cadence while listening to the questions. "I'll help you take off your shoes." He said as he got up from his seat and immediately went into husband care mode.
Covet: Cadence lifted up her feet, one at a time as Remy helped her get her boots off. "Thank you." she told him with a soft smile then slid back off the bed so she could walk over to the scale. // The nurse moved the thingies then wrote down the number on her clipboard. "One twenty six." // Hearing the number she furrowed her brow, "Four pounds...in a week?" // The nurse looked at her, "I'm sure the doctor will know why. Take a seat and relax, Mrs. Berkoff." Cadence moved back over to table and slumped back down onto the bed as the nurse walked out.
Tsaaq: He put his hand on her back and kissed her temple before taking a seat once more. His eyebrows rose up his forhead once more. "Well. I mean." Remy said as he looked over over. "You can barely even tell." He shrugged and smiled at her, hoping it would calm her.
Covet: "That I lost four pounds?" She asked him then saw his smile, cracking a weak one of her own. "Best husband ever. It makes sense for as sick as I've been. Avoiding food so when I do get sick it's not so bad." Cadence mumbled. // The doctor came in shortly after with the same clipboard the nurse had as well as a file folder with Cadence's name on it. "Hello, I'm Doctor Briggs. You must be Cadence, and spouse?" She asked looking to Remy as she held out her hand for a shake after she shook Cadence's hand. // "Yes, my best half." Cadence said as she swallowed hared. "Please tell me this isn't bad..."
Tsaaq: "Yes I'm her husband. Remiel Berkoff, it's nice to meet you Doctor Briggs." He nodded as he shook her hand hand as well. "She's been worried sick. And it makes me worried so can you just tell her everything is fine?" He asked, half joking and half not.
Covet: "I would love to just tell you that, but we've got a few things to figure out first.  You've lost four pounds in a week, and I'm going to assume the vomitting and nausea has been the cause of this. Mrs. Berkoff, can you tell me when your last menstrual cycle was?" // Cadence raised an eyebrow, " I don't really have them, with my IUD, occasional spotting, but nothing abnormal. I'm supposed to be getting it out next week, because it's ready to be changed out." // "Oh, I see. Why didn't you have them take it out back in September?" Dr. Briggs asked her, making a note. // "Because it wasn't time?" She asked, confused. // Briggs looked down at Cadence's file, "You had it put in three years ago as of September, according to your file." // Cadence frowned, then looked at Remy, "I.. guess I forgot..." she said softly because it was just one more thing to add to the lost memory list. "But I'm still getting it taken out, so I'm okay right?"
Tsaaq: His eyes widened. "Wait, what?" He leaned forward with his eyebrows furrowed as he listened to Doctor Briggs. He was a man, he seldom understood uterus science. "Yeah I guess that works, right? She can get it taken out this weekend if anything?"
Covet: "It should be taken out as soon as possible, yes. It could be the cause of all of these symptoms if it's no longer giving you the hormones it should be. I would like to take an ultrasound of your liver and kidney's as well, make sure they're still functioning like normal. There was a couple of abnormalities on your blood work and chemical panel that made me a little concerned." // The look on Cadece's face was confused as she tried to process this, "Oh... okay. Abnormalities? Such as?" // "There are a couple of factors that are higher than they should be normally. I understand that could be part of a brain injury you sustained, and I'm taking that into consideration as well. " Briggs told her in a calm tone as she stood up. "Let me get the ultrasound machine, sit tight." She told the both of them walking out. // Cadence looked at Remy, feeling overwhelmed. "I forgot...I'm sorry babe."  She had tears  starting to form in her eyes.
Tsaaq: "Whoa whoa whoa, so what are you saying? It's making her sick?" He asked hurriedly before turning to Cadence. "Why are you sorry? I don't even know where my matching socks are." Remy said to her. "If I had to put some thing in my dick to stop girls from getting knocked up? I'd probably forget like the next day. Don't feel bad."
Covet: "I'm sorry because if I could remember I wouldn't be making you worry like this." She said choking back a sob. // Briggs came back in with the Ultrasound set up and noticed Cadence was upset. "Mrs. Berkoff, I want to assure you that we will figure this out for you and get you feeling better. If you could lay back and pull up your shirt please?" // Cadence swallowed hard and nodded, then laid back pulling her shirt up to expose her stomach. She looked at Remy, then closed her eyes, wiping the tears off her cheek. She felt the cold gel being squirted onto her skin, causing her tense up and wince. // "Sorry, little cool. Alright... so first... Liver..." Briggs said as she directed the probe to a spot on her stomach just below her ribs, moving it around as she watched the monitor deciphering the static looking image "Liver looks good."
Tsaaq: He got up from his seat. "Who cares if I'm worried? I'm the one worried cause I see how stressed out you are." He murmured. Remy got up and wiped her face cause no tears for Cay. "See, looks good so far." He said.
Covet: Cadence swallowed and reached for his hand squeezing it tight. She just looked up at the ceiling as she felt the doctor moving the probe around smearing the cold gel everywhere. // Briggs moved the probe down and across her stomach slowly towards her kidneys on the lower, opposite side of her stomach, but stopped and moved back when the machine made a noise. She was looking intently at the monitor while she adjusted her positioning on Cadence's stomach a few times, the machine making louder pulse noises. Looking at the two of them, she put a less intense look on her face, "I think I have a diagnosis, Mr. and Mrs. Berkoff...." Tsaaq: Remy smiled as he patted her head. "I told you. Everything is okay. See, I don't even see anything." He said reassuringly. Remy rose an eyebrow at the sounds. "What's that?" He asked as he went to turn his gaze to the screen of the ultrasound  machine. He squinted his eyes and pushed his glasses up his nose with his free hand as he stared at the screen. "Is it one peanut?" He asked before his eyes widened. "Oh. Ohhhhhhh." Remy trailed off in realization. He laughed. "Babe, look." He said gently to her. "Is that what I think it is?" He asked, just to make sure bro.
Covet: Cadence turned her head when Remy laughed and told her to look, her eyebrows raising up as she saw what was there and felt her breath hitch in her throat. Her head snapped over to Remy which immediately made her feel queesy, and she looked back at the doctor. "I second what he just asked...." // Briggs smiled bigger, "I would say that you're about six weeks along, judging by the heartbeat and general size. Congratulations." She told them. // Cadence didn't know if she should burst into tears or laugh, she kind of wanted to do both. "Six weeks? That was... " She sighed and gave a nervous laugh that just got louder, "Lingerie... Oh my fucking god..."
Tsaaq: He started to smirk as he looked over to Cadence. The smirk then grew into a wide grin. "Nice." He whispered with a very proud tone of voice. "Am I a good shot, or am I a good shot?" He asked Dr. Briggs as if she'd know. "Pound it." He extended his free hand for a fist bump which I assume she awkwardly reciprocated. "Well I mean." He shrugged. "I regret nothing. I love when you wear lingerie." Remy laughed. He exhaled and went to kiss her forehead then her lips. "Are you okay? You feel okay about this right?"
Covet: Dr. Briggs gave an awkward chuckle and gave him an awkward fist bump back, then looked at Cadence. // She watched them still processing all of it then closed her eyes as he kissed her head, kissing him back when he reached her lips. Hearing his question she looked at the doctor, " Am I going to be alright?" // Briggs nodded her head, "With how extreme your morning sickness has clearly been, and the weightloss, I do believe you are suffering from something called Hyperemesis Gravidarum. Essentially severe morning sickness. It happens in a small percentage of pregnancies, but it's something that can be monitored and should subside by your second trimester. We'll schedule an appointment for this weekend to get your IUD out, in case it's causing any other illness. After that you just need to maintain a healthy diet, and keep yourself as active as possible. Active pregnancies are healthy pregnancies for the baby.  I'm going to give you a prescription for pharmacy grade B6, which with the Phenegran should help keep your nausuea at bay. You should also pick up some prenatal vitamins and refrain from any alcohol consumption or drug use. I'll make sure you leave here with all the proper pamphlets and information to read over. // Cadence listened trying not to be overwhelmed then looked back at Remy, giving a nod, "I do...It's sooner than we had talked about, but I think we'll be okay." She told him with a smile, squeezing his hand again. "Can we take home a picture of the ultrasound?" She asked Briggs. // "Of course." She said then went about getting the selection so it could be printed out.
Tsaaq: "Thanks Dr. Briggs, you have no idea how much of a relief this is. I thought Cadence was dying or something." He laughed. "We gotta go home and show mom and dad." Remy went to pet her head as he watched Briggs print out the ultrasound picture. "I love both my babies so much." Remy said as he went to give Cadence hugs, obviously talking about the babu and Cadence.
Covet: "I love you too." She said feeling relieved. Nervous still, but in a happy good way. She took the paper towel from Dr. Briggs to wipe her stomach off and sat up to pull her shirt down, taking the ultrasound image from her then showed it to Remy. "This is going to make dinner on Sunday interesting..." She laughed leaning into him then stood up.// Briggs looked at them both. "I expect to see you back in two weeks for your first official baby appointment. Start educating yourselves kids, but don't stress and enjoy it. You've got nine months before things really turn upside down for you." She told them then headed out of the room holding the door open for them.
Tsaaq: He nodded his head slowly. "Oh fuck." He murmured and helped Cadence up so they could get ready to leave. "I'm ready to go home and fucking- WAIT! We should think of a hilarious way to announce you're pregnant." He suggested as he led her out to the car.
