Mac Knee'd

Mac shot in for a light poke. Just a jab to the face and he was back out again. As he made to leave, however, Leaf grabbed him by the shirt again. He was yanked off his feet and right into her knee. Wind and spit and rainwater flew from his mouth. His eyes felt like they were going to pop out of his skull.

Before he could even recover, Leaf slammed her head into his. For a moment, the only thing Mac saw was stars. His back splatted down in the muck.

He propped himself up with his elbows. And he didn’t get an inch off the ground before Leaf’s boot pressed into his chest.

She stood over him, face as blank as ever. But Mac’s attention was drawn elsewhere, behind her. More figures made their way through the rain. Converging in on him. Crowding around him.

Encircling and entrapping him.

It was not until this moment that Mac questioned his ability to win this fight.
