  1. “What the hell’re you?” The man asked, brandishing a knife at the towering goliath that stood ahead of them.
  2. It’s body was the shade of bark, and parts of it seemed to be comprised of exactly that, his fingers that tapered to a pointed edge were encased in a thick bark, along with the area where its ribs where. Six ridges pointed out around its belly and chest area, giving it an emaciated and starved look.
  3. “I said, what the HELL are you?!” The man asked again, his voice drenched in concern and fear. He took a step back, still pointing his knife in the direction of the beast, despite his hands trembling. The beast took a step towards him, standing out of the shade and revealing even more of his intimidating visage. Its head was like a skull, sunken in around the eyes and nose, but it had no clear mouth, only vertical slits under its ‘nose’, which was just a small hole in its face. It walked past the two that the man had chased into the wood, completely ignoring them and continuing on its way towards the would-be murderer, who began to walk backwards, but refused to take his eyes off the beast.
  4. It flicked its hand up, causing a small root to bump up behind the man and tripping him. The man gasped as he fell, and grunted as he hit the ground, dropping his knife to the side, which the beast crushed with another root. The man gulped, and began to crawl away.
  5. “W-what are you?” He asked once again, tears of fear welling in his eyes.
  6. The goliath rumbled. “Stay out of my forest.” It demanded, throwing its hand in front of it, which caused dozens of vines to grab the man, and then threw its arm up, making them throw him into the air, and out of the wooded area.
  7. The two that were chased into the woods looked at the beast, both of them trembling. “Please don’t hurt us…” One of them begged, hiding behind the taller of the two and grabbing their companion’s arm. The goliath chortled.
  8. It reeked terribly of rotting fruit and flowers, giving it a natural scent, comparable to an orchard in fall, just when the unsold fruit is tossed away. The smell wasn’t intimidation, but was a bit off-putting.
  9. “Leave my forest little ones.” It ordered, pointing towards a clear path, devoid of any plants and animals. “Keep this area a secret, leave and tell no one.” It ordered. “I am the Forest God, and these are my lands. Now leave.”
