Resilient Session 14

	ResilientGM	IT IS THE 41ST MILLENNIUM
	ResilientGM	Dawn is just an hour away, and the Loyalist quarters get ready to change watch. It's been a warm night, and relatively few noises disturbed your sleep... something impossible even at HQ where the Aeronautica's activity and the roaring artillery make for a busy night.
	ResilientGM	(Animus): You are woken up, by a terrible sensation of heat deep in your chest. Your senses are assaulted by something unseen or unheard by anyone around you. It's as if you'd just been near a concussive blast.
	ResilientGM	(Animus): Around you, an overwhelming presence appears to surround your position. An incredibly powerful psychic presence... the warp powerfully channeled through this entity. You find it impossible to pinpoint its presence, for it overwhelms everything around you.
	Animus	jumps to his feet and yells an alarm
	Animus	'EVERYONE GET THE FUCK UP NOW."
	ResilientGM	Gilliam: "Emperor-blessed-fucking-witch!"
	Kogin_Hull	"01010111 01101000 01100001 01110100"
	Animus	"Our psyker friend might be around."
	Kass_Yonova	Kass eyes open as he shoots up from his resting spot. "The Feck!"
	ResilientGM	Koeln: "Sergeant...." he gets up, unholstering his pistol, "this may be it. Just give the word."
	Willus	starts awake, quickly fishing his rifle out from the tangled mess of gear beside his bedroll. "Enemies?
	Animus	"I'm being muted, can't use my powers."
	Kass_Yonova	"Muted?" Kass says as he grabs his lasgun and give it a look over.
	Mathias_Ferrus	sits up, hands holding on to his lasgun as his eyes open. "What's going on?" He asks, worried.
	ResilientGM	The sky above you, turns a bright red-orange, the wind picks up and it is dry...
	Willus	mutters out a string of unintelligble cursing as he straps his jaeger blade to his waist. "Zis fool is 'muted', whatever zat witch nonsense means."
	Animus	"There is a very large psykic presence in the area, I can't tell you much."
	Kass_Yonova	"Well can you at least tell us what to look out for?"
	Animus	grabs his staff and prepares for whatever is coming
	ResilientGM	Gilliam: "I... think he may be right" he says, looking out a window.
	Mathias_Ferrus	stands up and readies his lasgun. "Well, he better 'unmute' himself. Everyone else, get ready for whatever the Eye it is that is coming."
	ResilientGM	Static begins to fill the clouds around you.
	Willus	sticks a finger in his mouth, dries it out on his filthy mustache, and holds up in the air. His eyes dart around as he seems to mull over something. "This is not right....Emperor's teeth, something foul must be afoot."
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Right, are the transports good to go?"
	ResilientGM	Jowalis: "This is unnatural...."
	Kogin_Hull	[Techna-Lingua] "By the Omnissiah."
	ResilientGM	Jowalis: "Kaiser Unser Heilige werden dein Namen, dein Reich Kommen..." he prays to himself, prepping his gear.
	Willus	"I would avoid those zings, Herr sergeant. This evil brujaja would no doubt flense ze flesh from our bones. I think we should make like ze Kaninlaus."
	Kogin_Hull	readies his lasrifles and wields his Omnissian Axe.
	ResilientGM	Jowalis: "Ja, the Prithian animals know best. When danger comes from above, under the ground they go."
	Kass_Yonova	"Sounds like a plan to me." Kass squares away his gear and awaits the order to move out.
	Willus	tugs on his mustache. "Verstanden? We must burrow like ze noble six footed furry friend of all Game Wardens. Come, come brothers."
	ResilientGM	A roaring thunder echoes loudly above you. The atmosphere looks almost... alive.
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Well, I doubt a foxhole will do us much good. Get our Loyalist friends. We are getting out of here."
	Kogin_Hull	"The machine spirits cry in pain. Something is twisting them."
	Mathias_Ferrus	approaches one of the windows and takes a careful look at the transports. "Great... and one of them has an autocannon. Guess we'll avoid them. Any other sugestions on how to flee from here?"
	Willus	wrangles the rest of his gear. "Pray, Herr Sergeant. Only the Emperor can protect us from this witchery."
	Kogin_Hull	screams "HERESY" and leaps out the window using his Jump Pack.
	Kass_Yonova	"Is he prone to doing that?" Kass asks to no one in particular. "Feck."
	ResilientGM	Gilliam: "Yonova... come take a look at this."
	Animus	"Orders Sergeant?"
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Well, guess the Cogboy is forcing our hand. We'll follow. Fire at anything that looks even remotely hostile."
	Kass_Yonova	"Oh?" Kass walks to where Gilliam is.
	Willus	jumps and runs over to the window, looking for any remains of the machine man. He doesn't invesitage long. "We have to go, it is worse zan I thought. I know of ze place where we might find shelter."
	ResilientGM	Victrus' exposed skin appears to be slowly blistering, boils and redness appearing along his neck and arms.
	Kass_Yonova	"Emperor-Jumping-Throne." Kass kneels down and whips out his diagnostor.
	Willus	"Do not touch him! Those touched by ze daemon wind are beyond help!"
	ResilientGM	(Kass): They are burns... as if he were exposed to a nearby flame. They are only getting worse.
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Get a stretcher for Victrus, we ain't leaving him behind. And neither we are leaving our new cogboy. Willus, we'll follow you."
	Kass_Yonova	"Feck, feck, he's literally burning. This is foul sorcery, I can't do anything for him!" Kass throws his hands up in frustration.
	Animus	"Lets meet this psyker."
	Mathias_Ferrus	then speaks into his microbead. *"Hey, cogboy, if you are getting this, get back here, we are moving out."*
	Victrus_Macharius	wakes up.
	ResilientGM	Gilliam: "Shit... he's.... he's awake. Yonova!"
	Willus	nods and makes the his way towards the entrance, trying to think of the most efficient route to his destination.
	Victrus_Macharius	stands and walks towards Animus.
	ResilientGM	Gilliam: "Can you tell us what's wrong with him, Psyker?"
	Victrus_Macharius	put his hands on the Animus arms
	Kass_Yonova	"This goes against everything I know, he should be screaming in agony, not casually walking." Kass points his lasgun at Victrus.
	Mathias_Ferrus	aims his lasgun at Victrus. "Stop!"
	Animus	stares silently
	Victrus_Macharius	says to Animus, "YOU ARE FOOLISH TO COME HERE, YOUR MASTER HAS DOOMED YOU."
	Animus	"Face me then."
	Mathias_Ferrus	fires a single shot at Victrus' head, causing it to explode right in front of Animus.
	ResilientGM	Koeln, as if by knee-jerk reaction fires a further 5 rounds into the slumped body, his eyes wide open in surprise and fear.
	Animus	turns towards the door and exits the building
	Mathias_Ferrus	"That's it, we are moving out!"
	Victrus_Macharius	drops down to the ground dead
	ResilientGM	Gilliam: "Right... that's it, then."
	ResilientGM	Gilliam: "I'm with the Northern savages, on this one..."
	Kass_Yonova	"Feck..." he says simply before following the rest of the group.
	Willus	"Scheisse, we need to move now! Now, Emperor Dammit!"
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Then lead the way! We are right behind you!"
	ResilientGM	The body then, suddenly, burns.
	Mathias_Ferrus	follows Willus.
	Willus	bolts out the door, onwards to his destination. He occasionally looks behind him to see if his squad is keeping up, but is mostly interested in making a pell mell dash to safety.
	Kass_Yonova	Kass follows after, giving a quick prayer to the poor deceased Victrus.
	ResilientGM	Koeln: "This is fecked! Fecked! We're all fecked!" he says, running away from the burning body and the building behind.
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Focus!"
	ResilientGM	As you all advance towards the tunnels known to the Jaegers, you rush past the downed Valkyrie. It, you realize is engulfed by flame once more, like the first day you saw it.
	Kass_Yonova	"That's not a good sign."
	Animus	"Not putting that out again."
	Willus	"Down zere, mein gehossen. Saftey!"
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Right behind you!"
	ResilientGM	Soon, you arrive at a warehouse. Inside, an opening to underground tunnels is lit by a few red-glowing lights.
	ResilientGM	Around you, charred corpses of the former warehouse laborers.
	ResilientGM	The now-charged clouds of static energy begin to strike the ground with lightning bolts.
	ResilientGM	Powerful explosions as they strike all around you.
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Alright! Everyone head down!"
	Animus	crouches down
	Kass_Yonova	Kass heads down into the tunnels.
	Willus	shields his eyes, sprinting towards the tunnel entrance. "GOD-EMPEROR! SPARE ME!"
	Willus	dives into the entrance, landing flat on his belly and crawling the rest of the way down.
	Mathias_Ferrus	waits by the entrance, waiting for everyone to get in before following.
	Animus	enters the tunnel, crouching
	ResilientGM	Jowalis: "Keep moving!"
	Animus	mutters "coward."
	ResilientGM	A strong gust of wind begins to blow, its temperature getting hotter and hotter.
	Mathias_Ferrus	follows behind the rest
	Kass_Yonova	"Where's the cog-boy?"
	ResilientGM	You find yourselves in a series of tunnels, the Jaegers leading the way.
	ResilientGM	Jowalis: "Not far now, Kameraden."
	Kogin_Hull	retreats into the building and tries to find an exit.
	ResilientGM	A cool breeze hits your faces, as you near an exit. Normal sunlight enters the tunnels from there, no the corrupted infernal atmosphere you were running from.
	Willus	"Stay strong, brothers. Zis might be some kind of trick."
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Well, I told him to catch up with us. He seems resourceful. He'll be fine."
	Animus	seems frustrated
	ResilientGM	You hear a low hum vibrating at your feet.
	ResilientGM	You /feel/ it.
	Kass_Yonova	Kass looks down and then around. "Guys?"
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Keep moving!"
	Animus	"Be prepared."
	Willus	readies his long las. "Was ist das...?"
	ResilientGM	Soon, a quake distorts everything around you. Everything shaking violently.
	ResilientGM	Sonder: "We need to get out of here before w--" he can't finish his sentence, as he and a large portion of his men are crushed by a collapse in the tunnel.
	ResilientGM	The collapse traps you inside the tunnels. The exit that was so near is now obstructed by heavy debris.
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Throne damnit!"
	Animus	"Let me move it."
	Mathias_Ferrus	turns on his lamp pack. "Alright, how many explosives do we have?"
	Kass_Yonova	"Emperor's mercy on those men."
	Willus	"I fear it might take more zan explosives to remove all of...zis."
	Mathias_Ferrus	"I'm open to sugestions, Willus."
	Kass_Yonova	turns his lamp pack on as well, and snaps it to his vest.
	Animus	channels his power and tries to clear the debris
	Willus	waddles up to the debris and begins to shovel off some of the smaller bits. "We either start digging...or we ask ze witch." The final part of that statement was particularly caustic.
	ResilientGM	The debris shakes and shifts... and it finally moves. Unfortunately, it isn't enough, as it triggers a second collapse. The debris now firmly lodged against a collapsed pillar.
	Animus	curses under his breath
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Fuck, alright, everyone hand me your explosives."
	Kass_Yonova	"Can't see anything in all this dark and dust."
	Willus	"And ze Emperor punishes me for expecting a Witch to provide aid." Willus takes a large piece of debris and slams it into the ground. "I should strangle you, you hexe!"
	ResilientGM	(Kass): Your years of service have made you grow and live with and amongst all sorts of horrifying wounds. Often, the stench of blood stayed with you for days. That same metallic, musky smell now, fills your nostrils.
	ResilientGM	All around you, blood begins to fill the tunnels. In a matter of seconds, you are ankle-deep in this terrifying pool. The ceiling itself seems to weep with blood.
	Animus	"Run!"
	Kass_Yonova	Kass sniffs at the air for a moment, frowning at what he's smelling. Kass looks up then down. "SACRED-FECKING-THRONE!"
	ResilientGM	First blood.... then gore... the insides of a hundred mutilated guardsmen appear around you.
	[INFO]	There is nothing to tab-complete. Use F6 to cycle through the user list, input box and the chat output.
	Kass_Yonova	"THE FECK DID YOU DO, ANIMUS!?"
	Willus	looks completely overcome, silently staring at his feet as the thick gruel of gore slowly rises up to his ankles, his eyes turgid with fear.
	ResilientGM	(Kass): The horror of your surroundings is like nothing you've ever experienced... your stomach turns, and you feel nauseous, your body wanting to purge itself from anything that may be causing this horrible experience.
	ResilientGM	(Epic Failures): HATE THE WITCH! Nothing so terrifying has ever stricken you as so heretical. This is filth of the sort you've always known to be the work of Chaos. But have zeal in the Emperor.... and you know there is only one solution. Purge the witch, and cleanse that which is most foul and unclean.
	ResilientGM	The men of fireteam Altmann surround the Psyker, weapons drawn. Not surprisingly, Koeln has his own sidearm fixed on Animus.
	Kass_Yonova	Kass doubles over and loses his lunch with compelling force, despite doing his best to keep it down. Not even his extensive exposure to the wounded and the dead prepared him for this.
	Willus	raises his long las, training it on Animus.
	Mathias_Ferrus	is too busy freaking out to do much.
	Animus	"Can we all remember here that there is enemies on our tail, kill me later."
	Mathias_Ferrus	"We are drowning in fucking blood here!"
	ResilientGM	Gilliam downs a bottle of his choice refreshment.j
	Animus	"Then i suggest we leave."
	ResilientGM	Koeln: "Don't.... move..."
	Animus	slumps, looking defeated
	Willus	"'It is in ze Witch's nature to lie and misdirect those who art elect. Those who art truly faithful do not give his words any purchase, and will deny him and his works with utmost vehemence.'" Willus says in robotic montone, sloshing through the gore towrads Animus. "Suffer not hte witch to live."
	Animus	"Isn't the mission to protect the psyker?"
	Animus	chuckles
	ResilientGM	Jowalis: "Such have the Ancestors always warned..." he agrees with his comrade.
	Willus	presses the barrel of the long las against Animu's forehead. "Do you repent for you misdeeds, for ze filth of your existence?"
	Animus	"At least let me stay and try to defeat the enemy, to please my master."
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Wait, wait! Can't we use him to get out of here?!"
	ResilientGM	Jowalis now takes aim at the sergeant.
	ResilientGM	Jowalis: "Step back, Southerner..."
	Animus	"The tunnel is open you realize?"
	Willus	"One more time: Do. You. Repent?"
	Animus	"I Do, may the Emperor have mercy on me."
	Mathias_Ferrus	quickly unleashes a short burst of lasgun fire unto Jowalis.
	Willus	presses the long las against his body with greater force. "His mercy shall be granted then, witch. Ave Imperator." Willus' finger moves towards the trigger...
	ResilientGM	The Jaeger falls dead.
	Willus	The long las hisses and barks, discharging.

	Animus	breathes a sigh of relief
	ResilientGM	Gilliam checks on Victrus.
	Willus	's snores echo throughout the quarters, the air passes between his lips blowing his mustache around to and fro.
	ResilientGM	(Animus): There are only the remnants of the Pyromancer's powers... nothing new is apparent to you.
	Animus	stands and goes out for some air
	Kogin_Hull	is meditating in binary.
	Kass_Yonova	is relaxing under a broken stairway, reading one of his very used action novels.
	Mathias_Ferrus	is still sleeping peacefully, lasgun at his side.
	ResilientGM	Vorgen: "Sergeant..." he walks to his NCO, "Sergeant, we have a report coming in."
	ResilientGM	He taps Ferrus on the shoulder.
	Mathias_Ferrus	slowly sits up and looks at Vorgen. "What's the news? And any word on that Valk?"
	ResilientGM	"Sergeant, it's the Jaegers. They report having identified Captain Szieny."
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Alright. How far off?"
	ResilientGM	"Rallying grounds some 8 kilometers away. In one of the few still-populated centers of the city."
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Huh... that's gonna be tricky..."
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Alright, let's see if Sonder can help us out with this." He then stands up and goes searching for his loyalist counterpart.
	ResilientGM	You find Sonder in the supply room taking inventory with one of his men.
	Willus	slowly begins to awaken, organizing his things before relucantly leaving his bedroll. "Vat time is it?" He groans, still bleary eyed.
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Good morning, Sergeant. My men will be moving out soon but we'll need some help with the local terrain."
	Animus	avoids everyone
	ResilientGM	Sonder: "Good morning. Where are you headed, sergeant?"
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Apparently some rallying grounds 8 kloms out. Seems the place is still populated so I would like to know how close can we get before sneaking in by foot."
	Kass_Yonova	tears the wrapper off of one of his rations and starts to chow down while continuing to read.
	ResilientGM	Sonder: "I know the area... but what could spark your interest there? There are only few loyalist families, and even then they rather comply with the Legate's men."
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Frankly, I still don't have the full picture yet. I know command wants my squad there and that's that. Something about some HVT or another."
	ResilientGM	Jowalis: "I can't keep eating this filth... as soon as I'm able, I will be building traps..."
	Animus	attempts to eat, but doesn't have the stomach for it
	Willus	"I think you vill only catch rats and stray canids, Jowalis. Nothing hearty enough for you or me."
	ResilientGM	Sonder: "Could be another round of conscription... Major Wullt is the only HVT I can think of, however, involved in these roundups..."
	ResilientGM	Sonder: "... though, he frequently sends his lapdog, Szieny. Another monster... cleared out entire hubs of loyalists."
	Mathias_Ferrus	"What can you tell me about those two?"
	ResilientGM	(Animus): On a building across the road, you are able to see two stray felines of some sort.
	ResilientGM	Sonder: "Wullt is a cruel man... but an efficient administrator, Emperor damn him. He's effectively governed the city since the capital was relocated... one of Lucius' own men, if I'm not mistaken."
	Animus	orders the cats to approach Willus and has them roll on there backs
	Animus	walks over to Willus
	Animus	"Caught you something."
	ResilientGM	Jowalis instantly reaches for his Jaeger's blade.
	ResilientGM	Jowalis: "Sshhhh...."
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Well, sounds like that could be it..."
	ResilientGM	He grabs one, his hand completely engulfing his skull, and drives his blade into its chest.
	Willus	"...Felids?" Willus takes out his jaeger blade. "Get away from me, hexe. Release these poor creatres from your unholy puppeteering!"
	Animus	rolls his eyes and walks away
	ResilientGM	Jowalis: "Ach, wie schoen! Willus, relax, and enjoy this opportunity. Even here, the animals know who the supreme hunter is!"
	Willus	looks over at his comrade. "Jowalis! You don't accept food from ze sorceror! It might be tainted!"
	Animus	The cat also rolls it eyes
	Willus	shoots the cat a glare. "Shoo, beast, I might change my mind and have you for supper."
	ResilientGM	Sonder: "As for Szieny... he's a dog. But the separatists rally behind him like a priest of the Ministorum. He tells the lies of the /duke/ and eats out of his commander's hand" he spits on the floor.
	Animus	has the cat piss on him
	Kogin_Hull	gets up from his meditation and heads outside to patrol.
	ResilientGM	Sonder: "He'll likely be there... and the sooner you rid this planet of him, the better."
	Willus	"Ich werde diesen Mann zu töten...." Willus hisses, shooing the cat away with his boot before trying to wip away the urine. "Pissing me off vill be ze last thing this fool does."
	Animus	releases the cat
	ResilientGM	(Hull): A lasbolt hits you from inside a nearby building.
	Kogin_Hull	uses his jump pack to dive towards cover.
	Kogin_Hull	+We have company.+
	ResilientGM	The feline, instead of leaving, actually stays around. Choosing to remain by the Psyker.
	Animus	+Welcome them in then+
	Kass_Yonova	+Where are you?+ Kass responds while sitting up.
	Mathias_Ferrus	readies his lasgun as soon as he hears the discharge. +"Anyone saw where that shot came from?"+
	Kogin_Hull	+Southwest of HQ.+
	Kass_Yonova	"Sarge! Seems our Metal-head ran into some trouble Southwest of here."
	Willus	takes his long las and sprints towards the sound of the shot. ++On ze way, Metal man!++
	Kogin_Hull	activates his Ocular Sight and starts searching the area.
	Animus	starts heading in Kogin's direction
	ResilientGM	(Hull): You spot the recon team. One man holding the long-las, the other looking right at you with his magnoculars.
	Kogin_Hull	+Two targets: A spotter and A sniper."
	ResilientGM	They fire off again, missing their crimson target.
	Mathias_Ferrus	heads towards the southwestern portion of the holdout.
	ResilientGM	Sonder's men ready up, garrisons boarding up windows, and preparing their weapons.
	Kogin_Hull	advances toward, moving from cover to cover.
	Kass_Yonova	"Orders?"
	Animus	attempts to scratch the cats ear
	Mathias_Ferrus	+"Engage! Stick to cover."
	Mathias_Ferrus	+
	ResilientGM	The feline approaches the Psyker, and rubs up against his leg with the side of his thin body.
	Animus	"Stay here, gotta go kill people."
	Kass_Yonova	Kass readies his lasgun.
	ResilientGM	The enemy spotter gets hit, and slumps over in agony, with a gruesome hole between his neck and his shoulder.
	ResilientGM	A low rumbling in the distance betrays a familiar weapons system...
	ResilientGM	artillery has opened up.
	ResilientGM	(Hull): You notice, then that the spotter was laying beside a portable vox
	Kogin_Hull	fires at the sniper.
	ResilientGM	The sniper is killed, as the lasbolt passes through his sights and his skull through the eye-socket.
	Kogin_Hull	rushes towards the vox using jump pack.
	ResilientGM	All around you, heavy artillery rounds go off...
	Kass_Yonova	feels his blood run cold,
	Kass_Yonova	'not this shit again'
	Mathias_Ferrus	screams amongst the screams of falling and detonating shells. "MY LEG!"
	Willus	hits the floor, covering his head and neck, fearfully waiting out the barrage.
	Animus	jumps into the dirt to avoid the explosion
	Kass_Yonova	Dives into a deep crater on the side of the road, covering his head and curling into a ball as shells fall all around.
	Kogin_Hull	dives to avoid the blast.
	ResilientGM	The shells launch debris all around you, some of it catching your sergeant's left leg, arm, and torso, shredding through his uniform and cutting at his flesh.
	ResilientGM	As the smoke and dust clears, you spot Matthias's body under a layer of dirt.
	Willus	++Anybody hit?++ Asks Willus over the commbead, his voice still shaky.
	Kass_Yonova	"Sarge!" Kass jumps out of the crater and dashes towards his NCO, prepping his Narthecium. "Hold on, Sarge. Gilliam get over here!"
	Mathias_Ferrus	lets out a pained cough, the ground around him painted crimson.
	Kogin_Hull	+This unit is fine.+
	Mathias_Ferrus	tries to weakly looks at Kass. "How bad is it?"
	Kass_Yonova	"Don't worry about that Sarge, you're gonna be fine. Gilliam, stop drinking the fecking Isopropyl and help me."
	Willus	arrives and sees the sergeant. "Scheisse...I hope vill make it."
	Animus	"How can I help?
	Animus	"
	Mathias_Ferrus	laughs with some difficulty, still in pain. "Good thing I had a medicae assigned."
	Kass_Yonova	With Gilliam's help Kass works a miracle, as if the Emperor was guiding his own hands, he somehow staunches the bleeding, cleans the wounds perfectly, and finally wraps any and all affected areas. He gives him a healthy dose of painkiller until they can find time to rest.
	Kass_Yonova	"Half of your uniform is kaput, but at least you can still move, barely."
	Mathias_Ferrus	grins. "Not like my current protection did much besides protect my modesty."
	Kogin_Hull	investigates the Vox and looks for the frequency.
	ResilientGM	Gilliam: "Nearly thought I'd be out of a job..."
	Kogin_Hull	takes the Vox and regroups with the squad.
	ResilientGM	Sonder rushes to your position with a few of his men.
	ResilientGM	"Is everyone okay?!"
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Thanks to the talents of Kass and Gilliam, yes."
	ResilientGM	Sonder: "Shit... this is bad... they know where we are. We'll have to find a new safe-haven. You should rest, sergeant. Postpone your trip up North."
	Kass_Yonova	"Is HQ gonna be fine with that? Isn't this time sensitive stuff, Sarge?"
	Kogin_Hull	"I have their Vox."
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Well, I'll figure something out. Oh! What if we kept an ear on their transmissions? Cogboy and Vorguen should be able to work their magic. And that should keep us informed on when it would be best to strike."
	Willus	"What are we going to do? Let ze sarge tag along even though he looks like badly chewed blut-phasant? Lacherlich!"
	ResilientGM	Vorgen: "Let me see that, tech priest."
	Kogin_Hull	passes the Vox to Vorgen.
	ResilientGM	Vorgen listens in.
	ResilientGM	"They're still transmitting... asking for confirmation of their salvo."
	Mathias_Ferrus	"How long until they can shell once more?"
	ResilientGM	"They're asking for coordinates now, sergeant."
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Alright, everyone get into the transports."
	Willus	"Ja!" Willus says, snapping to attention. He gathers his things and makes his way towards the transports.
	Kogin_Hull	[Techna-Lingua] "Understood."
	Animus	calls for his cat
	Kass_Yonova	packs up his medical equipment and follows.
	ResilientGM	The feline follows his new pal.
	ResilientGM	Sonder: "You heard the sergeant! We need to abandon and relocate! Pack it up, and get ready to move!"
	Mathias_Ferrus	"When we are ready to move, ask for another volley."
	ResilientGM	Vorgen: "Sergeant... to which coordinates?"
	Kogin_Hull	commands the servitor to enter the transport chimera.
	Mathias_Ferrus	"The same. Might as well make them think we are dead."
	ResilientGM	Vorgen gives a cocky smirk. "As you command."
	Animus	picks up the cat
	Kogin_Hull	notices the Animus with his new toy.
	ResilientGM	The loyalists pack what they can, and place Victrus in one of the transports.
	ResilientGM	Sonder: "We can't all fit, in these, so we'll walk along beside the transports until we find a suitable building."
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Can't they ride ontop?"
	Kogin_Hull	volunteers to walk outside the vehicle.
	ResilientGM	"It'll be a tight fit..."
	Kass_Yonova	"I'll walk."
	Animus	"Can Snuggles fit inside?"
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Alright. But for now we need to get away. Have them ride ontop until we are out of the blast zone."
	Kogin_Hull	"What is a 'Snuggles'?"
	ResilientGM	Gilliam: "Keep the filthy thing outside."
	Mathias_Ferrus	then looks at Animus. "Snuggles?"
	Animus	"Do I judge you?"
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Who's Snuggles?"
	Animus	holds up the cat
	Kogin_Hull	"You named your livestock?"
	Mathias_Ferrus	pets the cat. "Ah... sure, he won't take much space. But do teach him to stay quiet and out of the way when we are in danger."
	Animus	continues the ignore Kogin
	Kass_Yonova	"Are you saying he's going to eat it, metal-head?"
	Willus	"Ze little thing would be handy to have around. We can eat it if things get grim."
	Animus	gets into a transport with the feline
	Kogin_Hull	"That's its purpose?"
	Animus	"Or we could eat you."
	Animus	glares at him
	Mathias_Ferrus	frowns slightly. "For now, let's avoid eating it. And well, the purpose is company."
	Willus	rolls his eyes and ignores the psyker.
	Mathias_Ferrus	pets the cat some more.
	Kogin_Hull	jump packs on top of the chimera and secures himself with his servo-arm.
	Mathias_Ferrus	looks at Animus. "Can I carry him?"
	Animus	"Sure." Animus passes him over
	Mathias_Ferrus	holds the cat and idly plays with it as they move out.
	Kass_Yonova	"Don't care for cat's, Da had plenty of trail hounds, though."
	Animus	"Did they have names?"
	ResilientGM	Koeln: "Disgraceful..."
	Animus	seems oddly interested
	Mathias_Ferrus	looks at Koeln with a slight frown. "What? Look how adorable it is."
	ResilientGM	Gilliam: "Sergeant Sonder, I give you the Prithian 79th Regiment of Foot... the mold to all future Prithian Infantry regiments."
	Animus	"You're just jealous."
	Kass_Yonova	"Gotta find a way to cope in this hell-hole, Gil."
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Hey, this little adorable thing might become the regimental mascot someday!"\
	Kogin_Hull	+Are we going to move? Or are we going to play with a potential food source?+
	ResilientGM	Sonder: "We're ready, Sergeant."
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Then let's move. Vorguen, get the arty boys have their fun."
	Kogin_Hull	[Techna-Lingua] "A waste of resources over vermin."
	ResilientGM	The transports are fired up, and you're on the move.
	ResilientGM	Vorgen begins to call it in: "...confirmed. Fire for effect."
	ResilientGM	Moments later, the distant roar of the guns is heard.
	ResilientGM	You pass the wreckage of the Valkyrie, and advance along the North-West road away from the former loyalist quarters.
	ResilientGM	Soon, the shells land on their target, collapsing a side of the building.
	ResilientGM	Vorgen: "Confirm target destroyed. Fire mission effective."
	Animus	"How are we gonna carry this little guy around?"
	ResilientGM	Gilliam: "Don't. Drop it."
	ResilientGM	Jowalis: "I wouldn't mind, in fact."
	Animus	"I could make some kind of sling to carry him."
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Yeah, that could work."
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Make sure it's a sturdy one, though."
	Animus	Maybe a backpack of sorts."
	ResilientGM	Jowalis: "Ja, I have one such bag."
	Kass_Yonova	looks to and fro while following along besides the vehicle, looking for any threats that might appear.
	Animus	"Could I see it?"
	ResilientGM	Jowalis: "Of course..." he hands you a bag. Inside, the skinned remains of the feline's former companion.
	Animus	pulls it out and tosses it, then begins to try and make it work
	ResilientGM	Jowalis: "I was going to eat that, you witch!"
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Then clean it up and eat it. 5 second rule!"
	Animus	picks it up and hands it to him
	Kogin_Hull	tries to search the area with his Ocular Sight.
	Kass_Yonova	"See anything up there, Metal-head?"
	ResilientGM	Jowalis leaps off and retrieves his prey, then jogs back to the transport.
	Kogin_Hull	"Nothing so far."
	Kogin_Hull	to Kass "Notice anything?"
	Willus	yawns, surveying his environment. "I don't see anything."
	ResilientGM	(Kass): You spot a family of civilians rummaging through discarded supplies in a warehouse. A woman, a young man, and a girl not a day over 10
	ResilientGM	When they hear you, they try to hide, but you can still see them.
	Kass_Yonova	"Civvies, at 9 to 11 o'clock."
	Kogin_Hull	"Are they armed?"
	Kass_Yonova	"Doesn't look it, they're surviving it looks like."
Kogin_Hull	[Techna-Lingua] "The sooner the heretic is dead, the sooner we can reclaim this planet."
ResilientGM	A trooper from fireteam Altmann jumps off of the transport, and approaches them, with a ration in hand.


Victrus POV:
ResilientGM It had been just over a month since you were officially named a Heavy Weapons team. You and Arthur were now placed in one of the PDF regiments until the highly-respected Colonel Schoenfeld raised his new regiment. They said it was a new model, that it would change the face of the Prithian Guard. Men talked all about it. About what an honor it would be to form part of this new model regiment. But for now, you did your duty and
 ResilientGM But for now, you did your duty and waited for the Colonel's call.
 Victrus_Macharius looks over at Arthur, "Well, I still can't believe it, but here we are, an official Heavy Weapons Team."
 Victrus_Macharius "Now we wait, I look forward to some combat soon. What about you Arthur?"
 ResilientGM "Well... I'm just happy we've gotten the training we have. I mean... Hegel. He's a legend. There's no doubt Colonel Schoenfeld will select us for the regiment."
 Victrus_Macharius "Your right about that, though I wonder how this new regiment model will be set up."
 ResilientGM "If the General Directorate approves it, they intend to make it part of a combined arms Division. The Line Infantry Regiment will be the core of the Division, and will be very well supplied."
 Victrus_Macharius "Well, I hope that mean we will get to fire some of the bigger guns one day."
 ResilientGM "I've heard they're preparing thousands of tonnes of steel just for the autocannons they will be given! It's all very exciting."
 Victrus_Macharius sits there thinking for a moment and then smirks, "Well then, I look forward to having an autocannon of our own soon."
 ResilientGM ++Unidentified aircraft violating military airspace. All heavy weapon's crews respond++
 Victrus_Macharius stands up, "Well thats us, lets get moving." He exits the room.
 ResilientGM The weapons batteries were placed far up along the mountain ranges of the West, overlooking military installations.
 Victrus_Macharius arrives at the weapons batteries.
 ResilientGM The alarm is sounded, and you and Arthur man the heavy anti-air battery.
 Victrus_Macharius check the AA battery the Arthur and he is on a prepares it.
 ResilientGM "Where are you.... where are you...." Arthur says to himself, scanning the horizon with his magnoculars.
 Victrus_Macharius finishes the check over of the AA.
 ResilientGM "Wait... wait, wait. I think I see it."
 Victrus_Macharius "Where at?"
 ResilientGM He appears to lock onto an item, his magnoculars fixed on a moving target too far for you to see....
 ResilientGM but you hear it.
 Victrus_Macharius readies the AA.
 Victrus_Macharius "How far out is it?"
 ResilientGM "It's.... here... coming up... there! There! 10 o'clock, low!" he leaps onto his seat next to yours and helps you stabilize the platform.
 ResilientGM You hear the engines now, and soon... coming up just above a mountain's peak, you see it.
 ResilientGM It's flying along the mountain range, and coming right at you.
 Victrus_Macharius aims the AA towards the incoming vehicle.
 ResilientGM "Hold... steady..."
 ResilientGM "He's adjusting his course... flying up."
 Victrus_Macharius keeps aim on the approaching aircraft.
 ResilientGM "In range... soon..."
 ResilientGM "and..."
 ResilientGM "Light him up, Victrus!" he puts his magnoculars down, and turns his attention to the ammunition feed.
 Victrus_Macharius opens fire.
 ResilientGM The first burst is fired, but misses the target.
 ResilientGM "A little further up... aim ahead."
 Victrus_Macharius re-aims and fires again
 ResilientGM The second burst of fire hits right on the mark, shredding the engine and ripping through its hull.
 Victrus_Macharius continues to fire
 ResilientGM The pilot struggles to avoid the burst, and is hit... directly in the cockpit. The vehicle loses control, and slams into the side of the mountain, in a ball of fire.
 ResilientGM "Ha! Target down!"
 ResilientGM "Stay here, in case there's more. I'm radioing it in.
 ResilientGM He climbs off the AA platform, and reaches for the vox.
 Victrus_Macharius "Got ya."
 Victrus_Macharius grabs the magnoculars and searches the sky.
 ResilientGM "Target is down. Gun-platform 22-F Mountain Unit. Confirmed kill."
 ResilientGM "Yes, sir. Thank you sir."
 ResilientGM "We've got the all-clear! Climb down!"
 ResilientGM He enters the small hub where you two have been living, just behind the weapons platform.
 Victrus_Macharius puts the magnoculars down and dismounts for the AA and follows Arthur into the hub.
Victrus_Macharius "Well then, that was excellent spotting skills," as he pats Arthur on the back.
 ResilientGM "Our first confirmed kill! Not bad at all."
 ResilientGM You and Arthur are stationed there for another month before being recalled back into the Academy.
 ResilientGM You are asked to report to an inquiry relating to the incident with the aircraft that was shot down.
 ResilientGM As it happens, it was a Prithian craft, that had suffered a malfunction in its comms systems. A short had fried its transponder and the vox, marking it as an unknown.
 ResilientGM You aren't directly responsible for downing the craft, as the orders came from the Mountain-Academy's security forces, but you are nonetheless asked to be part of the proceedings to investigate the matter.
 ResilientGM You are all eventually cleared of any wrong-doing, but a senior investigator intercepts you once you leave.
 ResilientGM "I reviewed your case..."
 ResilientGM "Don't think this is over. I know you didn't try to contact the aircraft. Violation of protocol."
 ResilientGM Arthur: "I think you'll find, /sir/, that we've been officially cleared of any charges."
 ResilientGM "And yet your negligence is apparent to anyone who reviews the case."
 Victrus_Macharius continues to looks at the senior investigator.
 ResilientGM "I will open up a new investigation on the matter... shame..." he mocks you, "so young, and a career ended so soon."
 Victrus_Macharius just stares at the investigator.
 ResilientGM Just then, along the halls, you hear the sound of a briskly-walking man. You and Arthur turn to see a tall, imposing figure, with the deep blue Great-coat worn by high-officers of the Guard.
 ResilientGM You soon realize, the man in question is Colonel Schoenfeld himself, just returning from his recent campaign against the Orks on the planet of Ruthina.
 Victrus_Macharius salutes to the Colonel.
 ResilientGM He's just arrived, and seems to be already making all requisitions to begin his project for the model division... and the model regiment.
 ResilientGM Where normally such a gesture would be ignored, the Colonel actually approaches you.
 ResilientGM The Investigator salutes, "Colonel Schoenfeld. Welcome back to Prithia. The Fatherlan--"
 ResilientGM "Yes, hello," the Colonel interrupts.
 ResilientGM "Troopers, I notice you're heavy gunners? Hegel's students, by chance?"
 ResilientGM The Investigator's face turns red in anger and embarrassment, but says nothing.
 Victrus_Macharius "Yes Sir Colonel, both Arthur and I were top of his class, Sir."
 ResilientGM "Excellent, boys... very good. Perhaps you'll even be under my command one day!"
 ResilientGM "In fact..." he pulls out a notepad and pen, "let me see your tags."
 Victrus_Macharius hands Colonel Schoenfeld his tags.
 ResilientGM He makes a few notes.
 ResilientGM "Young talent such as yours are exactly what the new program will need. You'll be hearing more of me soon, that I promise you."
 ResilientGM He turns to the Investigator, and then you again, "Was I interrupting something?"
 Victrus_Macharius "Yes Sir." Victrus salutes the Colonel.
 ResilientGM "Oh?" he looks at the Investigator, "And you are?"
 ResilientGM "Lieutenant Aurbul of Prithian Military Police."
 ResilientGM Colonel: "I see... are the boys in trouble?"
 ResilientGM Aurbul: "Well, sir... you see... there's an investigation regarding a certain incident."
 ResilientGM Colonel: "How bad?"
 ResilientGM Aurbul: "Well, sir... I'm not really able to comment on the matter, as it is an ong---"
 ResilientGM Colonel: "I'm sure it's something easily resolved," he says patting him on the shoulder, "and besides... you wouldn't want to deprive my new regiment of valuable men? Or perhaps you'd rather take their place on the front lines?"
 ResilientGM Aurbul: "No... Colonel. Of course not, sir."
 ResilientGM Colonel Schoenfeld: "Great! Then it's settled. Case closed! I do appreciate your understanding, Lieutenant. And now if you gentlemen will excuse me, the General Directorate wants to see me."
 ResilientGM With that, he parts, leaving Lieutenant Aurbul in a mild state of shock...having just been so-sabotaged by a man every Prithian could admire.
 ResilientGM Without a word, he leaves you two and makes for the building you'd just left.
 Victrus_Macharius looks at Arthur, "Can you believe what just happened?"
 ResilientGM "That was Schoenfeld... I..."
 ResilientGM Arthur then bursts into a fit of laughter which echoes throughout the hall.
 Victrus_Macharius grins and begins laughing as well.
