- In the Nineteenth Century, when a werewolf slaughters the dwellers of a small town, a group of bounty hunters commanded by Charles arrive in town and negotiate a higher reward. The apprentice of medicine Daniel, who is the protégé of the local doctor, joins the group and provides information about the beast that is intelligent and kills not only on the full moon, but also on the previous and the next days. Soon the gypsy leader invites Charles and Daniel and explains that in the solstice, the wolf-like creature will be able to control his transformation at will. Therefore they have only two days to discover who the beast among them is and destroy it.
- Set in a 19th century village, a young man studying under a local doctor joins a team of hunters on the trail of a wolf-like creature.
- After a series of strange attacks, a small village finds that they've been beset by a group of vicious werewolves intent on killing everyone in the village and must rely on a group of skilled hunters to stop them before the entire village is killed.<br/><br/>This here was quite the fun and enjoyable werewolf effort. This one really gets quite fun with the old-school tone and feel here with the Gothic atmosphere running throughout this one making for a rather enjoyable and truly fun style throughout this. Setting everything around the village is a great part by allowing for the old-time buildings and setting to get utilized effectively which manages to mesh quite well with the forest setting so commonly featured here, and along with the rolling fog banks and the howls out in the distance really makes this one truly chilling throughout here. Even more impressive is the fine action here which is quite a blast to get this kind of fun throughout here, as the stellar opening attack on the family in the cottage is quite exciting getting along, Other big scenes here include the strong ambush of the poachers being attacked while out in the forest and the trap being set at the abandoned mission where the werewolf finally gets the encounter with the hunters as they attempt to trap him inside in a flurry of fine action. It makes for a strong set-up into the finale where there's a ton of action taking this with the transformation in front of the crowd and then chasing the two into the underground catacombs which is a fine and incredibly fun brawl where both sides get in plenty of control throughout and the big resolution is a nice addition ending this on a high-note. While some of the small attacks throughout here give off some additional gore along with the other great encounters also adding some fun, there's enough here to make for some good times. About the only real downside to this one comes from the ridiculous and hardly believable CGI throughout here for the creature, which really ruins a lot of the scenes here with this one by taking the viewer out of the scene with the obvious fakeness of the main creature. Along with some minor stumbling here with the nonsensical amount of time spent showing the residents arguing with each other over the werewolf's identity, there's a lot more to like here to hold off the flaws.<br/><br/>Rated R: Graphic Violence and Language.
- "Just so you know that's no ordinary werewolf were dealing with out there." A small village is being terrorized nightly by a savage werewolf. When a hunting party is formed the village hopes that the town will be able to finally rest. One by one the villagers are attacked and turned in to vicious beasts the villagers begin to wonder if it is someone among them causing the problems. I will admit that this was better then I was expecting it to be but this movie is still something that should have been on the scy/fy channel. The film quality and acting are a step above the scy/fy standards but it still has the feel of a movie like that. The best way to describe this is as a slightly more scary version of the Amanda Seyfried "Red Riding Hood", it's almost a direct remake in my opinion. This is a movie that many people may really like, movies like this usually have cult like fans, but for me this was just something I had a hard time getting into. Overall, a scy/fy channel-like version of Seyfried's "Red Riding Hood". Not awful but nothing to rush out and see. I give it a C+.
- In its country of origin, two different versions were released. First, the R-Rated Version and later on the Unrated Version. The R-Rated Version lacks two short scenes that don't make the movie better at all but that footage at least pleases friends of gory scenes.
