He pauses and pulls a leather bound book out from the confines of his cloak, offering it to Ohtli. "Don't know where he went but- I think this'll serve you better than it'll serve me."

The courier rubs the back of his head and looks over his shoulder at Lusion, somewhat embarrassed, somewhat happy. "Er- you heard about that then? Yeah I- mm.. I'm just glad I've got folks who care about me is all."

[18:05] The man turns and drifts towards Tael, his hands tucking themselves inside his the crook of his neck until he procures what seems to be a medallion. It had a discolored wolf tail on it, both sides differed in texture. One was rough and spikey, while the other was smooth and sleek.

It was likely the man would understand what kind of jewelery this was, more so with how well made it was. Though it doesn't seem to fit the style of craft that he would normally add onto his own devices. Lusion pats the shoulder of the Ookami with an outstretched hand offering it forward. It dangles idly by his wrist.

".. I uh. I made this a long time ago, way back when I was... Atleast I'd say five of six. Always sought it gave me good luck. Sort of like a charm.." His eyes flicker towards Itza for a moment before attempting to take Tael's hand so he could unfurl it and place the medallion inside. ".. But, I'm found other, better good luck charms. I hope this would do something for you as It's done for me."

[18:13] Tael nods toward Ohtli and then shrugs bashfully. "What can I say- I don't exactly know when to quit. Ixcuiname showed her face in Altale so- well it's somethin' I had to take care of... though I'd be dead if it weren't for Dan and Celica.

Dan really did- care about me after all- ehe.. make sure he stays a good dad while I'm gone."

The red-head turns to Lusion and takes the offered luck charm. He smiles at Lusion now and his ears prick up a little. "I'll make sure to keep it close by. Though- while I definitely prefer Asena, our kids have black fur for a reason. It's sorta why I'm.. I'm ready to leave.

This is the end of my story on Agartha. It's time to make way for a new beginning."

He seems content, even if some wistful tears are filling at the corners of his eyes. Tael tucks the book he was offering Ohtli under his arm and blinks a bit. "Mm.. might keep it then. If that's alright- a little souvenir- of sorts.

[18:17] Itza walked over and stood before Tael for a second. Out of nowhere, she attempted to hug him. Hopefully he wouldn't avoid it.

After the hug was broken a few seconds later, depending on it's assumed success that is. Itza spoke.

"I suppose, this is the first time we're actually meeting. I am Itza, Lusion's wife. He's told me a bit about you,and well... I am sad to see you go, but I am also happy for you."

[18:21] Eiphraem has had Zoldak's mask helpfully slapped over his face. The burnished metal reveals little, though he holds the merchant's hand. The white noise around him is somewhat muted.

[18:21] Velara Vetalie says, "I feel... As if I have missed something."
[18:22] Zoldak gives Velara a thumbs-up.

[18:22] Velara has no idea why Eiphraem is wearing Zoldak's mask. All she really does is give the giant snake a gentle reassuring pat on his back, there there.

[18:23] The words are hard to say, and though they're a little forced they don't lack for sincerity.

"...I hope that woman finds peace. Whatever's gone wrong in her head," she says with a sigh. It's a struggle to not say the unkind things she wants to say instead. There's no love lost on Ixcuiname from her.

"Color of fur doesn't matter. You and Sig will be there to shape them. That matters far more.

"You're right. It's better you keep it. A souvenir. Like you said. I'm afraid I don't have much to give...but if there's any food, items, or coin you need for the journey. Please. Just ask."

Her eyes start to get on the misty side. At least she'd been able to say a proper goodbye to a friend- she hadn't had the same opportunity with so many others that had come and gone.

[18:26] Tael accepts the hug and grins at the kitsune. "Lusion's wife! Haha- keep him sane then. Spirits know he needs some guidance."

The courier looks between them all and puts his hands on his hips. "I'll be writing you know- so expect a lot of letters. And you better know I won't rest til i get some responses."

He looks around, frowning slightly. "Er- I've heard Vyse was around here.. I was hopin' to see him before my boat got here."

The ookami turns back to Ohtli and upon seeing her eyes clodu up, he has to fight back a few more emotions not to break down again. He's lucky that Eiphraem and Zoldak exit the tower with the mask covering the archon's face, or else he may have done just that.

The courier straightens up a little, giving Zoldak an awkward wave and turning his eyes to the demon. "You guys haven't seen Vyse- have you?"

[18:27] Velara Vetalie whispers something.
[18:27] Itza laughed a bit.

"Keep him sane? He's more likely to drive me crazy."

Itza then stepped away from Tael and back over to Lusion, giving him a playful nudge to indicate she was joking.

"I will do my best to keep him just the way he is."

[18:27] Eccentric Song exclaims, "He'll drive you crazy with his amazing deals!"
[18:28] Lusion just turns and peers out into the sea. He's not bashful. Not at all.

[18:28] Eiphraem accepts the pat gingerly. He exhales, softly, his head turning towards Tael and inclining faintly.

[18:30] Oya notices the gathering and the lord Archon. Promptly, she moves herself closer and extends a bag, her lips curled up in a slight smile, black eyes staring at the archon, waiting.

"I'm ah- glad to see you're awake by the way. Didn't know if the last time we'd get to talk would be during one of your naps."

He huffs, softly, from behind the mask. He tilts it up off his mouth- Though he doesn't remove it-

Those pauses are even present in his thoughts- Not only a physical quirk in and of itself.

[18:42] Eiphraem looks a bit like a mess- His eyes are bloodshot, his hair is slightly fluffled, and his pupils aren't fully dilated. There's also still a bit of blood on his mouth, at the far from the corner.

[18:45] Lusion exhales and turns towards his wife, then at Tael. At Itza again, then lowers his head after consideration for his thoughts. The Ookami slowly drifts over, and like a rigid, stiff, and hopelessly awkward movement. He embraces Tael like he would his own brother.

Lusion doesn't so hugs.
Hugs don't do him.

His wife made him do it.

[18:48] Tael's eyes widen slightly at the sight of the clearly upset serpent. And the scent is all too familiar and causes fear to ripple through the ookami's form. The last he'd smelt it, he was on the fringes of death itself. He thinks not to step forward, considers that perhaps there's nothing one could say to Eiphraem given the situation Tael has pieced together.

But instead he moves toward perhaps the person the courier looked up to the most throughout his time on Agartha. He leaned in and whispered a few things, hoping they'd maybe help.

Or he would have done that if Lusion wasn't hugging him. The courier's worry is thrown off of his face for a brief moment as he's embraced by his kin, to which he laughs slightly and hugs him back, instead whispering to Lusion before turning back to the archon.

A nod is thrown Iosefka's way as he recalls her sleeping before he could say something to her as well.

Perhaps, he'd done something entirely evil, but she only freezes for a few seconds, the thoughts lingering on her mind.

Yet, she's not one to judge it by now. The girl has seen her faire share of atrocities- Murders, genocides... She's witnessed a few horrible things that couldn't equal to Eiphraem's current doings.

Thus? The mist in the air, rising from her form slowly condense toward her palms. Her wrists rotates in place, motioning closer and closer to gather a small bit of water as she begins to speak in her same melodic voice as usual. Her words are notes, drawn over in mild concern while they echo gently in her surroundings.

"Why is there so much emotions... Does these ones require songs, mending?

Do you require my aid?"

She slowly tilts her head, distancing herself slightly while not understanding everything that's happening.

A quick smile is followed as the courier sees Dan approaching- and then?

It seems for the moment the ookami is at a loss for words at the approach of his first friend.

The innkeeper said with a tilt from his head a small frown as he performed the very typical form of a shrug, bringing his arms up and down along his shoulders as he looked over the red haired courier after all.

"But I'm the kind of not ghost you can use words with, you know?" with a small strange face he said, tilting his head on a fuzzy looking expression. "Other words than boo at least. Boo."

[19:04] Tael cracks up and practically falls into Vyse, giving the innkeep a great hug. He's not really holding back any tears now, even if he wanted to. His tail flicks behind him a few times before he pulls back and tries to speak.

"V-vyse I heard you were back but I couldn't- we didn't- I never- had TIME to come visit here and- and- so much happened I- I- I- I-"

His words get caught in his throat and the courier is forced to calm himself down before continuing.

"Vyse I'm ah- I'm leaving."

He says with some solemnity. The weight of the statement becoming all to physically apparent on the red-head.

[19:07] Lusion took the scythe and affixed the edge towards his face, inspecting the metal for mere moments as he withdrew a hand from his cloak. Two digits flared with a crimson, ember-like flames as it neared the notch of the weapon.

From ther eonwards does he steadily guide both enshrouded digits along the surface of the blade untip it nears the tip, and a metallic ring echoes like dropping a needle in a hollow corridor.

Runic seals band together, glowing, and briefly entangle the weapon in a dark viel. Once it ends the glow receeds, and the runis symbols diminish in color.

"And the fact he can grow even horns but not a beard, how come you're a a father now, Tae? No, actually don't tell me. Just say you didn't name your children anything silly like Golden Cub the Second and you'll have my blessing."

The inn keeper said with more calm than he could and should, just resting his green colored eyes back upon the sad looking Tael in front of him with that hug.

"...Why does it have to be a goodbye? Friends don't say goodbye, do they? Just good and bye separated, but never together. Or something. Just. Yes." he nodded, firing Tael a small thumb's up in between that hug even if his hand would be behind Tael's back. "Actually...Where is this Usurg place...?"

"You said it was 500 then, right?" He looks inside of his coin pouch, still lacking and still owing multiple other people at this point. He gulps then turns to Lusion, trying to puzzle this together, "How much would a Mana X go for around here?" A quick question, hopefully it was a lot because he's broke. Aside from the 900 coin he had - he owed two people 1200 in total.

[19:15] Tael wiped at his face and tried his best to answer all the questions he could. He laughed a little at Vyse comforting him with the explanation of 'goodbye', which reminded the ookami of his last talk with Cofi herself, wherever she was now.

"We named 'em Vanja and Finn. Sig named Vanja first and I couldn't- think of a good name for the boy and then- she came up with Finn-

Finn, like Tael- g-get it? It's perfect, even if it's a little corny-" The laugh that follows made Tael's tears sparkle a little more as they fell down his cheeks. "And- I think Ursurg's in Valmasia- I dunno Dan said it's where Saorise went and- I'm sorta hoping to meet her out there. It'd be nice to stick with a familiar ookami- and all- I-"

The messenger looks down and shakes his head, trying to figure out what else to say. The moment is all too bitter sweet, the bitter stinging more than he'd like.

"I wanted to say thanks- Vyse. Thanks for showing me a home- thanks for being my friend. I know things got- rough, I know ah- we went through a lot but- I'm gonna miss ya. Most of all. I'm gonna be writing you too- just so you know.

"Zoldy gave me an Inn here in Crafthold but, you know. There are less and less faces I remember in the crowd, and with your face leaving the crowd, that crowd is a crowd not very...Good...To look at."

He nodded, absolutely thinking that made sense. At least it did for him.

"Maybe I can find a way your place, start an inn next door, but only when I'm finished with everything I've done here. I need to bury Shoots staff in Bhaldraithe, and...Stop being lazy. But hey...Maybe I really can find my way over to Valmasia sometime near in the future. If anything, I guess? I don't know, do you? Anyhow-" with a small bap on his shoulder, the Innkeeper opened a large smile on his face towards Tael. "I'm not easy to get rid of, we'll be seeing each other again."

So, she just decides to make up her mind and turn to head off, wind streaming off behind her form as she rapidly moves away.

The courier seems content with this, taking comfort in that this goodbye isn't goodbye, but rather, a 'see ya soon'.

He leans in to whisper something to Vyse before sails can be seen coming toward the docks to the south.

He nodded again, already certain that the children of the couple would be really red haired puppies, and no one could take that away from him.

Tael looks over his shoulder as the ships get closer, now making port here in Crafthold and making their preparations. His face is still wet with tears but he's absolutely beaming, happy to see everyone who's here, and happy to get a send off he didn't know he'd get.

Red eyes go from Vyse to Ohtli, Dan, Lusion, Itza, Zoldak, Eiphraem, and-

Even Farin. The messenger is certain the boy doesn't remember him, but takes some solace in the fact that the youth he'd lost his arm defending was there to see the end of this chapter.

Tael nods towards all of them and shoulders his messenger bag. "Well I- I guess this is it- I-.. I'll be hearing from you all real soon, I hope. And if not then- well, I'll see ya round, yeah?"

[19:36] In one smooth motion, Zoldak removes his mask as he performs a deep, dignified bow towards, complete with a flourish. As he rises, a wide grin is given to the courier, the wrinkles of the aged mans face deepening. His pale blue eyes give a quick wink, before the veil of polished metal goes right back on. A ringing, emotionless voice fills the air.

"Safe travels, Tattle. I'm sure you'll prosper, wherever you go."

And then a small little wave is given to the ookami, as the merchant spins on his heels and starts to saunter off, comfortable with the knowledge that at least someone will be getting out of this place alive.

[19:37] Lusion gave the courier a nod of his head as this'll likely be the last time of him seeing the man. Beyond his own brother the Ookami was a close person to consider a friend, and he's glad he's been around to interact with him.

".. It seems like yesterday I was helping you and Sigrun deliver messages. Hate letters namely from Sigrun-- And now you're both married and have kids.." A sigh, the man recalls the past with a frown.

"I wished Mirage would of seen you off."

[19:38] The Drakan nods to the courier- comrade, friend, one who shared more beliefs with her than most. She goes cross-eyed for a moment, looking upward at one of the colored feathers tied just in her periphery.

It felt right to give something, even if it was small. Ohtli unlashes one of those bright red plumes she's worm for so long and, with a low dip of her head she offers it to Tael.

"Spirits guide you, Tae. May they bless and keep you even across the sea."

[19:40] And with that, the whispering would cease as his attention was directed forward- the end of a journey.

He had witnessed Tael's journey start as a lad.. and now was witnessing it's end- eighteen years after the fact, from an orphan boy to a king, back to a courier.

Life had a way of repeating itself- but, the cycle would finally be broken with this decision.

Tael, Sigrun, the kids would get the ending that he had yearned for- freedom from Agartha and the suffering that it brought.. and Dan was proud of it.

"Be safe, my son.. keep my grandchildren away from this rock if ya' can manage. Tell Sigrun, I'm sorry that we couldn't really sort out more."

He said with a nod before stepping back- distancing himself, once more.

"Perhaps, I'll join you all one day."

[19:45] Tael tearfully accepted Ohtli's offering and rested it upon the breastplate of his armor, taking a small pride in it. "Spirits guide you too, Ohtli. Make this continent a better place- if anyone can do it- it's you."

He watched as Zoldak flew off and smiled once more to Dan. "We'll be keeping some Karadine on the top shelf specifically for Dragonslayers and Dragonslayers only- you can count on that, dad." There's a pause and his joking demeanor turned a little more serious. "You help Ohtli with all ya can alright? She needs it- she's got lots of good ideas and she needs people to back her up. You can do that- Dan. You saved my butt more times than I can count- and- even more recently saved my life.

Treat her how you'd treat me. And- teach Eric how to shoot. Ehe-"

The courier turned back to Vyse and smirked. "I'll keep the tea warm for ya."

He reached out to hug the blond once more before he'd turn to walk down the docks.

He kept his messenger bag close, still carrying Kuroi Hush's letter that he vowed he'd always keep on his person, along with the death letter that fortunately never had to find its way into Sigrun's hands. He passed the sailors and the dockworkers of Crafthold quietly, calmer than he'd ever been as he looked determined toward the next journey of his life.

Agartha had been a strange place, even if he was born there. He'd never quite gotten used to it really. Maybe that was because he was always trying to change things. It wasn't until his 33rd birthday that he really realized:

War? War never changes.

And the war-continent would stay that way until it saw it's own end. The demons and other monsters would surely see to that. Had he never found a family, perhaps he would have continued fighting, a loyal soldier to Eiphraem Kang. Maybe he would have been misguided enough to fight for the lost settlement of Summer Waters and would have seen a fate similar to Ming Xiao's. But his life wasn't his to just give away anymore.

Sigrun had told Tael she'd only ever forgive him if he did the right thing. He'd hurt her and she'd hurt him and their lives pit them against one another more times than once until they were somehow brought together, with some help of course. Tael knew above all else, that was the family he had to care for now. The spirits had tasked him with as much, telling him to provide for his pack. And that's what he intended to do.

Courier, Councilman, Commander, King, and Rogue.

Gaiar's Loyal Hound left his land behind, never to return. He stepped onto the ship and, in a moment of sudden fear felt the shiver of the illusions that slipped out of his control sometimes surround him, much as they'd done previously during his fight with Elise. Though this time, they were there tocomfort him. Tael stepped further onto the ship, heading down into his quarters where he sat- down at the counter of the Golden Cat. Countless faces were gathered here, friends, family, even some enemies who lingered in the corners. Folks from old Bhaldraithe, from Crafthold, from Huangzhou, Vindicia, Dawn, Aetherius had all gathered around the courier. And he couldn't help but smile. He knew- it wasn't real.

But for the time being he'd let his illusions fill the space that would be his bedroom for the next few months as he sailed after his wife and children. He snapped his fingers and some music began to fill the space, maybe only heard by him, but perhaps some of his friends still on shore could hear it.

Tael closed his eyes and let the tune take hold of hismind, and without even trying, his invisibility caused his body to disappear.

He was off somewhere else. Somewhere new. Somewhere better.
