- Jumpscare: When something unexpected appears in your vision or off-screen with or without audio in a matter of milliseconds
- Atmosphere: When the setting or situation we're in is unsettling, it could be something as simple as an abandoned hospital or something as abstract and complex as a single frame followed by an eerie noise
- Panic: When danger is in our path and we must act quick to avoid it
- The Unkown: A creature that we have too little knowledge of to understand
- Uncanny Valley: A creature that may look human but our sub-conscious believes otherwise and forces us into a state of paranoia and unease

- Power: The abilities that something or someone has and what they've done EX: murder, teleportation
- Body Horror: When someone is hurt physically, as well as death.
- Distraught: When someone is hurt emotionally or psychologically
