  1. >be me, Bonky
  2. >i'm bubbling in my bubble
  3. >i'm insulated against the horrors of the pickle
  4. >but...
  5. >i've cheated
  6. >i've created a bubblescope
  7. >with which i can watch from a distance
  8. >all the pickle-stuff
  9. >and pickle horse-man
  10. >from a safe distance
  11. >an elegant solution
  12. >he's trying to convince me he's the devil
  13. >not through language,
  14. >there's no way he can speak to me in here,
  15. >but through the motions and revolutions of his pickle stuff.
  16. >Because pickle horse-man is part horse
  17. >and a horse communicates mostly through body language
  18. >it's not so much what he says,
  19. >and he says a lot,
  20. >but it's the subtext
  21. >it's what he's doing when he says it
  22. >and he's acting out quite a bit
  23. >and being quite the rascal
  24. >to try and show me how evil he is
  25. >but i can tell
  26. >it's just a frustrated act he's putting on
  27. >he's not really the devil
  28. >he's just being a huge brat
  29. >because i left
  30. >so he's torturing all his little empty bonkeys
  31. >or partial bonkeys
  32. >and the going-ons are all very unholy
  33. >so i shouldn't say he's NOT the devil
  34. >because the devil's in him
  35. >and the devil's in me
  36. >-the devil's in him
  37. >and the devil's in me-
  38. >that's a nice refrain
  39. >i wish miles davis were here
  40. >to enjoy that little refrain
  41. >actually, i do not wish miles davis were here
  42. >i am SCARED of mister miles davis
  43. >and his hostile undertones.
  44. >i am watching the fractal spiraling pickle-verse
  45. >but i try to see only the horse in it
  46. >or the "horseness"
  47. >because it's the only part of pickle horse-man i understand
  48. >somewhere in there is a graceful and strong horse
  49. >but threaded throughout is the belligerent shouting
  50. >and ape antics of man
  51. >a garbled mess of mixed intentions
  52. >that no horse should have to bear
  53. >when i look at pickle horse-man,
  54. >i try to see the horse,
  55. >but really,
  56. >i see a small arena.
  57. >where the man and the horse are meant to come together as one
  58. >but the horse is scared
  59. >and the man lacks confidence
  60. >the man does not know what to do
  61. >he threatens the horse
  62. >and the horse runs wild
  63. >and sometimes the man coerces the horse
  64. >to do the man's will
  65. >but the horse never forgets the fear
  66. >and throws the man
  67. >the arena keeps them together
  68. >locked
  69. >wrestling
  70. >confused
  71. >i don't want to be that horse.
  72. >i'll reveal to you a weakness of horses:
  73. >growing up in the plains
  74. >we lack boundaries
  75. >unlike the donkey
  76. >who grew into itself in the rocky hills
  77. >i wish i were a donkey
  78. >a donkey does no work
  79. >if the devil is involved.
  80. >in this bubble
  81. >i can see pickle horse-man
  82. >but i can see myself, too
  83. >reflected back to me
  84. >in pearlescent soapiness
  85. >a white horse
  86. >and it suddenly strikes me
  87. >the whiteness of the horse
  88. >milk white
  89. >ghostly
  90. >mute
  91. >beautiful
  92. >but with a certain terror to it.
  93. >and for all its perfection
  94. >what has it accomplished?
  95. >narcissistic circus
  96. >agitating the horse-man
  97. >and i hear echoing up from the past
  98. >that old familiar song
  99. >-they buried me in that grey tomb that knows no sound
  100. >but i am still around-
  101. >i dreamt i were a donkey
  102. >in the rocky hills
  103. >outside jerusalem
  104. >and the lord called for me
  105. >to the mount of olives
  106. >and the disciples lay their coats on me
  107. >and the followers lay their coats along the road for us to walk on
  108. >and together we went into that fair city
  109. >to fulfill a prophecy
  110. >and together we went up to the summit
  111. >to cleanse the Temple of God
  112. >-or i may simply be a single drop of rain
  113. >but i will still remain-
  114. >and it occurs to me what i must do
  115. >and i visit upon myself
  116. >so there is two of us in the bubble
  117. >the one: tall, perfect, and white
  118. >the other: small, grey, and stubborn.
  119. >part of me
  120. >but not the whole
  121. >i tell him go
  122. >through the waters
  123. >go and be born
  124. >and do good things
  125. >so off he goes
  126. >like a bolt through the darkness
  127. >and the bubble bursts
  128. >the dreamer awakens!
