When a mysterious door is unlocked, a storm of evil forces rain down on a small tropical island. Sora, a teenage young man, and his friends, are transported to another world, one that is dominated by darkness. A mysterious race of beings have invaded; they are known only as the Heartless: those without compassion. Sora is chosen as the master of the Keyblade, the only weapon with the power to vanquish the Heartless and their dark intentions. Meanwhile, an unknown high council of mysterious rulers have bound together to control the Heartless and gain forceful dictatorships over their people with violence and fear. Meeting up with two elite commanders from the Kingdom Castle (Donald and Goofy) who are on a mission from their missing king (Mickey Mouse), Sora seeks out his lost friends and combats the armies of evil to uncover the identity of the true master of the Heartless.
When a boy named sora and his two friends Riku and Kairi decided to build a raft and leave the island to see other world a dangerous storm hit the island in the middle of the night. Sora decided to check the raft out when these mysterious creatures were appearing Sora who's chosen by the keyblade had to fight them as in Disney castle Donald and goofy got a mission from the King to team up with the chosen one. Sora was separated from Riku and Kairi one was separated by darkness as the other was separated with a light heart. Sora fell in this dark hole where he woke up in a different place which he had never had seen before. It was called traverse town Sora met people who told him about the creatures he was fighting they were called heartless and then he met Donald and Goffy who had a gummi ship that could travel to other worlds. Sora decided to go with them to continue his journey and find Riku and Kairi. Donald and Goffy have their mission to find the King and work with Sora. They have to complete their mission.
Like most other Square Fans, I was extremely skeptical when I first heard that the RPG legend would be teaming up with Disney, of all people, to produce a game. However, as time went on and more screenshots and gameplay tidbits were released, Kingdom Hearts became more and more appealing. Thankfully, When the big release day finally arrived, I was not disappointed. Square had managed to perfectly intergrate the Disney mythos along with the Final Fantasy universe to create a game of a game. Square has once again shown its talent for creating magical RPGs.<br/><br/>Kingdom Hearts is truly a stunning accomplishment and may very well be the game of the year for 2002. The biggest problem with Kingdom Hearts is that many gamers are bashing it because of the inclusion of the Disney characters without even playing the game. This is very short-sighted. Kingdom Hearts is a classic game, and if you own a PS2, this is one game that should absolutely be in your collection.
I must say that I hate role-playing games!  They all appear to be the same!  The battles are boring and they give you no sense of realism!  However, I took a look at &quot;Kingdom Hearts&quot; just because it was a totally different concept than what most of the RPG&#39;s are!<br/><br/>The story rocks, the theme fits the story perfectly, and the voice talent was excellent!  Well, maybe I would have picked someone different to play the part of Sephiroth, but you can&#39;t have your cake and eat it too!  <br/><br/>It&#39;s great for kids, video game fans, Disney fans, and anybody who is young at heart!<br/><br/>I just hope they make the sequel soon!!!!
