08/23/19(16:15:02) *Menma(A New World) approached the Son Goku character, dread on his countenance. "Excuse me, sir?" before him now, he pointed towards Kisarag-- "If you actually plan on saving the planet, I think we'd like to help. We do live here and all and the more the merrier, right?"*
08/23/19(17:02:18) *Menma(A New World) tried to hype himself up for the sparring match. The last time they'd fought one another he'd managed to acquire a victory but times were constantly changing and he couldn't be positive Kisaragi wasn't more powerful than before. Giving himself some distance, the boy moved from the water and tried to steel his nerves but a sudden offer was now up on the table. Goku, was offering his assistance in training them, a sort of two versus one scenario. It wasn't a bad idea, it gave them a chance to face a stronger opponent, especially one more akin to what they would be fighting in the future and more importantly it would warrant an opportunity to polish their teamwork. Personally, he had no objections. "I'm willing... Kisaragi?"*
08/23/19(17:16:21) *Menma(A New World) nodded his head. He could quite vividly recall the last big confrontation he had with a powerful entity, the simulation training and how they'd worked in tandem to take down a great foe. Kisaragi wasn't there for that and aside from what he'd seen briefly in their own skirmish, he wasn't too sure how to work off of him. "I'm sure w'ell be able to figure something out. Just communicate with me Kisaragi and we may win." It was a highly optimistic view but optimism was about all the coward really had.*
08/23/19(17:43:42) *Menma(A New World) immediately approached at the sound of go- he'd assumed that Kisaragi was going to be right behind him but apparently the guy was taking a more backseat approach. Goku's fighting was ferocious and surprisingly accurate. He took several hits and found that on top of that, Goku hit really hard. thrown back several times. He was quick to recuperate but it didn't matter, the relentless attacks warded both of them and thwarted any chance of victory they had. When Kisaragi finally collapsed, succumbing to his exhaustion it was just the two of them. Perhaps it was his unorthodox manner of fighting or the fact that his opponent was just holding back so graciously, but he found he was incapable of keeping up. He flailed about aimlessly but inevitably fell as the saiyan danced around him dealing blow for blow. He collapsed with an audible thud and lay there for a moment, his eye sight recalibrating.*
08/23/19(18:12:22) *Menma(A New World) blinked, surprised by Kisaragi's quick acceleration into combat. Realizing he only had a few moments to hop in himself, he quickly took stance to assist the other despite the consequences.*
08/23/19(18:21:31) *Menma(A New World) found that they were certainly no working team and he was defeated not by his opponent but by Kisaragi himself. Eventually he withdrew, allowing the more experienced fighters to take the lead.*
08/23/19(18:37:37) *Menma(A New World) quickly approached the group-- watching the fight from a distance gave him the opportunity to see how it was this alien fought. He was extremely durable despite their desperate efforts they were incapable of actually stopping the monster from throttling them into the dirt. How so? He couldn't comprehend it but it struck fear into the youth, a great deal. --There it was again, that feeling in the pit of his gut, something that surged ever so deeply in his belly. He could feel it-- he gripped his stomach as if something was attempting to rip itself from his innards, something ferocious, something hungry. "S-stop!" he yelped his voice hoarse with anticipation and terror. Cold sweats ran down the nape of his neck. Menma bit his lip, fiddling with the idea of fighting the giant alone, but if he didn't the duo would certainly be maimed. In that heat of the moment decision he witnessed his vision blur, then he felt his heart race, his throat clenched and something grew with feverish intensity. A surge of power enveloped him-- it numbed his mind akin to a sort of liquid courage one boasted when their arrogance outweighed wit. With a shriek, he attacked.*
08/23/19(19:02:47) *Menma(A New World) was exhausted from his thrashing. Whatever happened amidst the battle he couldn't recall any of it-- he'd lost for certain but everyone else seemed to be fairly intact. A heavy sigh escaped him and he shakily made his way to his feet. "So, I'm guessing we didn't get your stuff back?" he murmured, his voice heavy with defeat.*
08/23/19(19:15:06) *Menma(A New World) still retained a surprising amount of energy. Taking his stance, he prepared to pull his punches and train again with Kisaragi. Why had he actually jumped in to help these strangers? He couldn't be sure but the question pulled at him.*
08/23/19(20:04:06) *Menma(A New World) had no actual faith in his ability to succeed, he talked himself up into this situation but now he was quite frankly afraid of failing. The last time he and Kisaragi worked together it ended in tragedy-- whether or not they'd succeed this time was a mystery. Steeling himself for combat, he glanced at his comrade and approached.*
08/23/19(20:21:16) *Menma(A New World) took a breath in and with all of his drive drove his momentum forward to attack again with everything he was capable of doing. It didn't matter how long it would take, he WOULD win.*
08/23/19(20:39:16) *Menma(A New World) --Another defeat. At this point, it wasn't so much physically taxing as it was mentally appalling, the way he looked down on them, his inability to see their own ambitions and the want to fulfill them, someone like that-- so arrogant, made Menma sick to his stomach. He hated the way he was so crass in his approach, a callous man had to be taught a lesson one way or the other. He took but a few moments to recover his stamina and again leaped into the fray.*
08/23/19(20:50:42) *Menma(A New World) was positively NOT done. Perhaps it was the way he attempted to convey the message that irked the child so, but whether it was to himself now or perhaps his would be teacher -- could he actually do anything-- he wanted to win. He wanted to succeed, at SOMETHING. "You think that's it!? I can do this ALL day, I don't care how long it takes!"*
08/23/19(21:05:05) *Menma(A New World) painstakingly managed to bring himself upright, back pressed against the hot, sharp rock of the cliffside. He looked disheveled and badly bruised. The trickles of blood running down his nose and mouth were wiped away by his forearm but the tenacity in his gaze never left. "...." the swordsman may have been right again--- he didn't have the heart to actually kill someone unless it was absolutely necessary and even then he was positive he'd hesitate... But was that all there was to this fighting, to kill? "You're tellin' me, there's no other way to protect what we hold dear? We just have to slaughter?"*
08/23/19(21:14:51) *Menma(A New World) brought himself back to his feet, ready for another round. "Either way, I'm not done here. One more. I'm going all out."*
08/23/19(21:17:31) *Menma(A New World) powered up to his utmost maximum and launched a full frontal assault on Romoto. He knew he would lose again, but he wouldn't go down without feeling he'd at least accomplished a single solid hit. That tenacity, that drive, that instinctual will to succeed and thrive awakened what lay dormant in him once more.*
08/23/19(21:49:36) *Menma(A New World) he had learned a lot but nothing that felt necessarily worth while. He spoke of what strengths he believed he possessed. "I work better in groups.. .I guess and I think I've got an okay sense of timing but... I'm not the fastest, or the strongest, or the most durable." he'd felt like an average Joe.*
