- average "biggest attack" for every single deck
- hi all, i'm bando and i like using numbers to prove myself right (or wrong but usually i'm not wrong when it comes to this)
- this is going to assume just based on the biggest attack in each deck; for instance, while Alice's Momentous Shift can be a 7, it won't be counted, because Manxome Foe can be bigger. i will try to get more "average" values for variable cards like this, but ofc sometimes that's hard to determine
- without further ado, here's me delving into insanity:
- Alice: 7.31034482759 (Manxome Foe + 2, with the average blind boost being ~2.31034482759. obviously the fact you draw 5 cards at the start of the game means that this number isn't actually going to be true even if you use a manxome while large for your first action on your first turn, but it's not really feasible to try and math out the other 4 cards)
- Bigfoot: 6 (Larger than Life)
- Dracula: 9.5 (Beastform + discarding half your hand when you use bite. yeah beastform is a card you can't very easily factor numbers into, but the best i can do is assume you discard between 0 and 7 cards when playing it, as that is typically the optimal way to use it)
- Bruce Lee: 7 (Little Dragon + ONE nunchaku. getting off little dragon in general is really hard to do, and getting it off with a nunchaku is even harder; getting it off with both nunchaku is basically impossible unless your hand is like just schemes + LD or something)
- Daredevil: 8 (Devil of Hell's Kitchen with no cads)
- Medusa: 7 (Second Shot with a 4 boost)
- Robin Hood: 5 (Hunter's Eye)
- Sherlock Holmes: 5 (Game is Afoot/Gun)
- Sinbad: 8 (7th Voyage, aka 2 + 6)
- Buffy: 5.5 (Right Hand Man or Mr. Pointy. this one is kind of weird to do but if we assume a 50/50 split between picking xander or picking giles, i think this is fair. don't get me wrong NOBODY picks Xander, but *mathematically* this works better)
- Angel: 5 (like half his deck lmao)
- Spike: 7 (Always Surprising on shadow token, or Let's Dance on a shadow token--both with a 3 boost. i didn't math the average for this one because always surprising is more like a "huh yeah spike can throw out ANOTHER 7" thing, while Let's Dance is really the actually relevant card for this math)
- Sattler: 7 (Illusion; yes Back in Business can get some wacky stuff but that's much harder to do)
- Beowulf: 8 (Ancient Heirloom)
- Achilles: 6 (Skirmish or Brothers in Arms after his boyfriend dies)
- Little Red: 6 (Long Have I Sought You)
- Willow: 6.13793103448 (Flayed Alive. average blind boost is 2.13793103448, see Alice for more info on calcing stuff)
- Jekyll & Hyde: 11? (Forever Hyde; it's hard to do competent math for this, but if we assume that half of your hand is Jekyll cards then that's 5 + 2*3. yes there's not exactly 50% of the dekc as jekyll cards, BUT you also choose when you play forever hyde, so like... this is the best i can do outside of just a blank 5, which is obviously inaccurate)
- Luke: 6 (Sweet Christmas!)
- Bloody Mary: 7 (Speak Three Times)
- Sun Wukong: 7 (Ox Form)
- Deadpool: 7 (Cha-Ching! using Push to Teleport to BOOST)
- Invisible Man: 5 (Surprise Attack + Emerge from Mist)
- InGen: 5 (They Should All Be Destroyed / Second Shot with a 3-BOOST. this one is another difficult to math one, but if we assume that Destroyed is usually between 0-2 traps (from my experience and looking at how maps are, that's not unreasonable) then that averages to 4 + 1)
- Yennenga: 5 (Jaws/Momentous Shift. jaws is obviously map dependent, but again using averages here, 1-3 zones per space, that's 2. shift is more consistent and also a 5. you could MAYBE argue jaws is a 6 since it's like "would you really play it if someone is only on 2" to which i say "Yes")
- King Arthur: 7.5 (Excalibur + 1-3 BOOST. this one is hard to math due to the cancelling, it being predictable enough that a feint coming is decently obvious, Arthur's BOOST values being so trash, etc. this also averages 6 + 9, aka max-boosted excal vs cancelled/unboosted excal, so that's nice.)
- Ghost Rider: 5????? (a LOT of blocks are only 1 boost so penance stare varies a ton, and GR has multiple 5 attacks--plus Penance is a 5 if you double-boost it against a 1 boost. again this is something you can't really math without calculating the average boost value of every single attack in the entire game, which i prolly will do someday but not now)
- Bullseye: 6 (I'm Better And I'll Prove It. I Never Miss boosted with a 3 also works)
- Moon Knight: 7 (P&PI with a 3-boost as Khonshu, or That's Why I Always Win with a 2-boost as Khonshu. MK *Can* actually throw out 8s by boosting That's Why I Always Win with one of his 3-boosts, but that play is usually suboptimal and rarer compared to using the scheme itself and Past and Present Intermingle. you could argue that i should make this an 8, but i'm trying to find *averages* here, not unlikely fringe combos that do Big Biggest Damage)
- Raptors: 7 (Eviscerate with 2 raptors. pinning with 2 raptors isn't like the hardest thing in the world in most matchups, especilaly for just one hit, so i'd say this is fair. you could prolly lower this to a 6 if you wanted but ehhhhhh)
- Elektra: 6 (Mystic Assassin)
- T. Rex: 6 (When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth boosted with a 4)
- Average Biggest Attack Across All Decks: 6.15463362069
- i think you could feasibly argue this number might actually be TOO high, considering the fact that it includes some decently unlikely stuff; however, you could try and argue the opposite too due to cases like Penance Stare and Destroyed, which can theoretically get a lot higher. ultimately, i think that the number won't change THAT much either way, so this shows that the average is about a 6.
