  1. Making way out into the fields once more, he held Masamune stead-fast at his side. Reeling the blade as trails of icy embers vanished when spitting out and tumbling in the towards the ground.
  2.
  3. "You wanted a, one-on-one. Didn't you?" The subtilties to those who might be aware on the foxes tendencies may see, clearly.
  4.
  5. Unlike before, he found some form of enjoyment, as the crowd gave him their attention. "Let's give them a good show."
  6. (Laemor)
  7.
  8. Taiga takes to the field, his heart in his throat. This is what they wanted to see, no? The two Wayfinders facing off against one-another, a display of prowess in Spatial magic and swordsmanship. But who would emerge victorious? Taiga hadn't a clue. Here, with the crowd cheering and roaring in his ear... there was no denying the hype.
  9.
  10. "I'll show you all I've got, Laemor. Not one inch of restraint." His blood surges. Adrenaline coursing through his veins and augmented to levels few could match.
  11.
  12. "Let's do this." He's having the time of his life, it's clear from the look on his face.
  13. (Taiga Rowan)
  14.
  15. It's during the intensity of said moments where he found his emotions heightened, driven by cardinal instincts. In pursuit of something. . .
  16.
  17. More
  18.
  19. Every swing of his blade brought down with it the clash of icy flames, projecting his wayfinding arts against, a wayfinder. The two warping at high speeds across the fields.
  20.
  21. However, the fox, was faster.
  22.
  23. A clear distinction to be had as the magical circle that laid across the field. Brought fourth the inner connection to the lifestream, allowing him to reach speeds, in tandem with his dance.
  24.
  25. That none other could hope to match.
  26.
  27. Or so he thought.
  28.
  29. Feeling the whiplash by a harbinger in their own right. It seemed as though, the battle dragging on was proving to be in Taiga's favor. Allowing him the space and much needed time to counter-acts the foxes speedy movements.
  30.
  31. And yet, he found his opening through the madness, reeling his blade back. He slammed it against the mans, sparks igniting between the two. His lustrous gaze grew wild, veins pulsating down the lengths of his arm. Overwhelming him through sheer strength alone.
  32.
  33. Had it not been for his quick use over the arts of spatial. Then he may have lost, but alsa, such was not the case as he used his free hand to squirm into a portal manifested beside him, tugging at the mans collar and dislocating his balance.
  34.
  35. In that instant, he lit his flames anew.
  36.
  37. "It's over!" He shouted, pressing him down until he crumbled beneath the insurmountable strength applied to his staggering state.
  38. (Laemor)
  39.
  41.
  42. "I'll show you all I've got, Laemor. Not one inch of restraint." His blood surges. Adrenaline coursing through his veins and augmented to levels few could match.
  43.
  44. "Let's do this." He's having the time of his life, it's clear from the look on his face.
  45. (Taiga Rowan)
  46.
  47. So this is the power that Ren Shi had taught him? This is the strength of someone who has found a way to blend their Wayfinding with swordsmanship successfully? The difference between Taiga and Laemor's usage of the art would be clear even to the more ignorant observers of the crowd. Where Taiga was only capable of using it after full preparation, forging the Wayfinding portal with painstaking precision - Laemor was far, far faster in his execution. It didn't make sense to him.
  48.
  49. It hit him - an epiphany in the middle of this battle. Taiga was clashing blades with Laemor at a speed too fast for the human eye to track. Metal screeching against metal for a split second, before the fighters broke apart, the shockwave of their clashes rippling through the field. Even the crowd would feel the force of the impact, Taiga's dhampiric biology struggling to keep up with all the wounds opened by attack. His bones trembling under the weight of Laemor's intense strength, his head rattling. It wasn't the place to be thinking... but he couldn't stop his mind from racing ahead of the fight.
  50.
  51. I see now... this is what he's done. Just as Ren Shi developed his own style... Laemor has as well. A unique application of Wayfinding, to fit his own method of sword-fighting.
  52.
  53. -- The realization hits him right around the time Laemor gets right up in his face with fire the likes of which Taiga has rarely had the displeasure of facing. He can feel his blood begin to boil. Taiga digs his feet into the dirt, trying to mount a counter-attack. But it comes a hairs breadth too slow-
  54.
  55. He's sent flying, his back to the dirt and a crater forming in the wake of his defeat. Taiga is laid out for a long while. Even after his wounds heal, even after he's more than capable of rising on his own - he doesn't. The battle plays out in his mind some hundred or more times. Every mistake Taiga had made, everything Laemor had done thoroughly examined. Warriors like him were so hard to come back. Those that had taken fighting to a science. Though he had long since tried to abandon his love of fighting and pretend as though he was a kind, peaceful sort...
  56.
  57. Laemor had ignited that fire, that love, all over again. He's smiling goofily - even in defeat.
  58. (Taiga Rowan)
