Q: What are you trying to do?
A: I am trying to complete Pokémon X as fast as possible

Q: This is not Any% Glitchless, are there any glitches in this speedrun?
A: There are no glitches that would aid in the speedrun, so we consider this the “Any%” category.  If/when glitches are found that drive the time down, it may be split into multiple categories

Q: What is your best time?
A: My best time is 3:59:55

Q: What is the World Record?
A: The World Record time is 3:41:53 by IMAX1Up

Q: Why is the World Record time not on the leaderboards?
A: The runner has chosen not to have his times represented on the leaderboards. The run is completely legitimate, so it was not a moderator action.

Q: What are you playing this on?
A: I am playing this on a New2DSXL with a capture board installed

Q: Where can you save time?
A: All over the place! I just started running this game last week so I have yet to have a good run

Q: What Pokémon do you use in the run?
A: I will be using a Chespin until we trade a Bunnelby for Farfetch'd, Farfetch'd until we catch Hawlucha, Hawlucha until a few fights after we are gifted a Lucario, and Lucario until the end. For HMs, Hawlucha will learn Fly and Lapras (which we are gifted) will learn Surf, Strength, and Rock Smash

Q: Why did you choose the girl?
A: Your rival has different Pokémon, and those Pokémon have different Nature's depending on what gender they are. The boy rival has more favorable natures (most notably, Meowstic is -Speed)

Q: Can you do this run on Pokémon Y?
A: Yes, and it's almost exactly the same. The only real difference for the run is that in X you run into Houndour when looking for Hawlucha while Y will run into Electrike which is more dangerous

Q: Why do you name yourself a 1 character name?
A: We set our options to have a Text Speed of Fast, however text still scrolls onto the screen.  By naming the characters a 1 character name, we can save some time over the course of the run on text, with the cost of a second or two by bringing up the naming screen. I do not name any Pokémon since it does not save time

Q: What are IVs?
A: IVs are the number, 0-31, given to a stat to determine the stat growth.  The higher the number, the better the stat

Q: What are the hardest fights in this run?
A: Trevor & Tierno double battle, Grant, Calem 1, Lysandre 1, Lysandre 2, Drasna and Siebold

Q: What are you running in the grass for on Route 2?
A: In order to trade for a Farfetch'd, we need to catch a Bunnelby. Bunnelby is a 20% encounter on Route 2, and the catch rate is hardcoded to 100% on that route as well

Q: What is your goal time?
A: I don't really have one right now. I think I'm capable of a low 3:50s/high 3:40s run, but I don't want to spend too much time going for that when I could be learning something else!
