  1. >Be Anon
  2. >Regular student at Canterlot High School
  3. >Or at least you were, until a few days ago
  4.
  5. >You were walking down one of CHS's many hallways, on your way to the science block
  6. >Although, on this particular hallway, you have to make sure to be extra quiet
  7. >Because Principal Celestia's office resided in this hallway
  8. >You tip toe quietly past the door, only to be called back by a stern voice
  9.
  10. "Anonymous, can you come back here for a moment."
  11. >You skulk back to her door, coming to a rest in front of your principal
  12.
  13. "Anonymous, a student has just brought this crown to my office;"
  14. >Shit bitch, I ain't knowin' 'bout no stinkin' crown
  15.
  16. "And it must be handed into Vice Principal Luna's office for safe keeping. However, my busy schedule keeps me from delivering it personally. Would you kindly take it to her for me?"
  17. >She ends with a question
  18. >Like you even had a choice
  19.
  20. "Of course, miss."
  21. >Principle Celestia places the crown in your hands, and retreats into her office
  22. >You start off down the hall again, adjusting your course for Luna's office instead of the science block
  23. >However, as you are walking, you notice something off about the crown
  24. >It feels... odd
  25. >Warm to the touch
  26. >And you feel a distinct pulse flow through it
  27. >Almost as if it was alive
  28. >You shrug it off, putting it down to your aching limbs after the previous period's PE lesson
  29. >However, the closer you get to Luna's office, the heavier the pulse becomes
  30. >You feel something else too
  31. >A longing, deep in your subconscious
  32. >It feels like the crown is calling to you
  33. >Begging to be worn
  34. >You round a corner, and find yourself in the hallway of Vice Principal Luna
  35. >You stop abruptly, and realise how fast you'd been walking
  36. >And how much you'd been sweating
  37. >You look at the crown, it's delicate golden frame, and a beautiful purple gem embedded into it
  38. >The call becomes too much to bear, and you duck back behind the corner
  39. >You raise the crown above your head, and drop it down
  40.
  41. >The moment the crown touches your scalp, a searing burn envelopes your body
  42. >You try to scream, but your mouth is paralysed by pain
  43. >Falling to the floor in agony, you desperately try to pry the crown from your skull
  44. >It's fucken stuck
  45. >As your vision begins to fade, you see something step out of the cloudy darkness
  46. >In too much pain to make it out, you instead close your eyes
  47. >The last thing you hear is a gentle clang as the crown tumbles off your head
  48.
  49. >You finally awaken after god knows how long, only to find that you've been wrapped up in something
  50. >It feels like plastic, and you struggle and kick, trying to tear your way out
  51. >The sound of panicked voices can be heard through the bag, and in no time the bag has been unzipped and you pulled out, gasping for air
  52. >You look at your surroundings, shielding your eyes from the glare of the sun
  53. >You're on a stretcher, which was half way from the front door of the school to an awaiting ambulance
  54. >In a body bag
  55. >Questions fly through your mind, each vying to be the first asked, but eventually one fights it's way out your mouth
  56.
  57. "What happened?"
  58. >You ask no one in particular, but Vice Principal Luna has raced forward and is standing by the stretcher
  59.
  60. "I heard some type of commotion outside of my office, and when I went to see what was going on, you were lying on the ground with the crown in your hand. I called the paramedics, but you were..."
  61. >Her voice falters, and she truggles to regain her composure
  62.
  63. "You were announced dead at the scene."
  64. >Your body goes numb at her words, and the paramedics continue to wheel you into the ambulance
  65. >They take you to the hospital, where the doctors run a multitude of tests on you
  66. >You're held there for just over 2 months, when the doctors decide that you're ready to return to your life
  67. no pun intended
  68. >Arriving at the gates for the first time in forever, you're sure that nothing will have changed
  69. >Unfortunately, you're completely wrong
  70.
  71. >As soon as you step through the front door, the usually cheery and loud foyer of CHS is replaced by complete silence
  72. >Students whisper to each other as you pass, and you draw weird looks wherever you go
  73. >All your old friends make up lame excuses when you want to hang out
  74. >Even the pink girl is nervous in your presence
  75. >The bell rings, and everyone leaves to go to home room
  76. >You prepare to go to, but are stopped by a hand on your shoulder
  77. >You turn around, and find yourself face to face with Zecora, that weird foreign girl who never spoke to anyone
  78.
  79. "Come with me, young Voodoo Child. These powers in you are not mild."
  80. >Did she just fucken rhyme?
  81.
  82. "What?"
  83. >Without another word, she pulls you away, pushing through the front door and leading you down the street
  84. >So you've been kidnapped by a rhyming African girl
  85. >Good job, Anon
  86. >Eventually, you leave the city behind and find yourself on a road underneath a canopy of trees
  87. >She leads you to a driveway, pushing through the rusty gate and into the overgrown front yard
  88.
  89. "So, uh, this your house?"
  90. >Of course not, Anon
  91. >She's just led you to some strangers yard for shit's and giggles
  92.
  93. "Yes, welcome to my humble abode. A modest home, and I cannot goad."
  94. >There she goes again with the rhyming
  95. >She beckons you inside, and you notice that the house is empty
  96. >The inside is dark, and decorated with things of obvious african origin
  97. >But before you can fully admire the décor, she pushes you out the back door and into the backyard
  98. >You dodge around weeds, and Zecora takes you to what looks like a large garden shed
  99. >She opens the door, and inside you can see all manner of things
  100. >Tiki masks and coloured hanging bottles dominate the walls and ceiling, and in the centre lies a massive bubbling cauldron
  101.
  102. "OK, Zecora, it was great of you to show me all of... this. But to be honest, I have no idea why I even followed you've taken me here, or why I followed you, but I'm gonna try and get back to school before I'm missed."
  103.
  104. >You turn around, walking through the doorway
  105. >But a black and white hand grabs your shoulder and pulls you in
  106.
  107. "I understand that you find this hard to believe, but you've got magic in your blood, and you mustn't leave."
  108. >So she is going to speak exclusively in rhymes
  109. >Well, two can play at that game
  110.
  111. "So, you expect me to believe that I've somehow become magical, and it's just that simple?"
  112. >That was terrible, Anon
  113. >Apparently, Zecora thinks this too, and her face adopts a thoroughly unimpressed expression
  114. >No more rhyming
  115.
  116. "You cannot do much as you currently are, but you've got the Voodoo in you, friend, and I can see it, as bright as a star."
  117. >She makes it seem so simple
  118. >You watch on as she searches around the shed, taking many different plants and herbs and pouring them into the cauldron
  119. >She grabs a large stick, and begins stirring the brew, while chanting quietly
  120.
  121. "Sjoe ek kan nie glo dat jy eintlik vertaal hierdie bundel."
  122. >She repeats this a few times, and stops both chanting and stirring
  123. >You notice the room has gotten darker
  124. >You also notice that the cauldron is now smoking, releasing clouds of steam, each tinted a vibrant colour
  125. >Suddenly, the colours are swept back into the pot, and within seconds, a large geyser of steam explodes out, hitting the roof
  126. >It then swerves downwards, heading towards you
  127. >It fills your nose and mouth, attempting to fill your body with itself
  128. >You see Zecora scoop a bottle into the cauldron, and she rushes over to you
  129.
  130. "Quickly now, drink this brew, lest all the life be lost from you!"
  131. >That's scary
  132. >She forces your mouth open, and pours the contents of the bottle into your mouth
  133. >It's tastes just like you'd expect a liquid made from a bunch of different plants and brewed in a rusty pot in a ramshackle old shed to taste
  134. >Like shit
  135. >You attempt to spit it out, but Zecora holds your mouth closed
  136. >Grimacing, you swallow the liquid
  137. >Immediately, colours burst in front of your eyes, and you lose consciousness
