  1. [14:00] "Hrmm.." He takes notice of their little reaction.
  2.
  3. "Do you really want to know who I am? Alright." His memory was regained a lot from the lighthouses effects, he was able to remember many things.. whether that was bad or good for him in the end was questionable because it lead him to become very self conscious of himself and doing his best not to fail. Failure is what lead to the Ixis being dismantled after all.
  4.
  5. "I was born in Huangzhou, mother and father were Ashera Ixis and Ume Kimyona respectively, I was always a hot-headed individual, I was impatient, letting emotion drive me, I remember wanting to fight for the Fourfold, wanting to become strong quicker so I could stop demons and Dawnites. I look back on that and think of it being so wrong to do.." His nethradin looks to each of them, unlike Sanu's calm demeanor the eye had a horrible looking glare.
  6.
  7. "I grew in strength, took on a fighting style with both sword andmagic and tried to become that hero I aspired to be. But as you've probably heard my story is full of failure, I often fought with family and wanted to do things my way, I went alone to kill the enemies my way, I wanted to progress where Huangzhou was being slow."
  8.
  9. "Slowly my family fell one by one, I wanted to kill them all ever more. The time where Huangzhou made a move was the time I had died, alongside my brother Spud, practically the last bit of Ixis there was."
  10.
  11. "I was risen and reunited with Aaliyah.. or Gisei as some may know. That was taken from me by Emily, the black lined oscuri traitor. Before I.. wasn't as alone in undeath but once Gisei was gone I did feel even more alone. She showed me my future in Dawn, what I wanted and I worked for it. I had to serve Lord Ultovex well, I had to grow in strength and I was in the process but Ashalle took that from me and I'm brought here now.'
  12.
  13. "That's a quick summery. Being better may 'redeem' me to others but to myself I'll always have these shackles of regret for what I've done in undeath, unless I keep at it to nullify it I would rather die then return to life."
  14.
  15. His head turns to Calael who was standing there, he didn't realize until now, how long was he there for?
  16. (Sanu Ultovex)
  17. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  18.
  19. [14:09] Calael had entered during the explanation and opted to stay quiet in order to listen in ad hear the full story. He crossed his arms as he stood off to the side silently and took in every detail. At the mention of the names of the Ixis family, one in particular made a shine across the demiangel's eyes glow regretfully; the mention of his old friend and companion, Spudnicus.
  20.
  21. "Regret is..." he said after a long silence, "...something no life goes without, I believe. Failures... setbacks... these are things we all face. Heavens know I am no stranger to such things." He rubbed the side of his face as though he was wiping away some sort of exhaustion from the night before, and he gave Cordelia something of an apologetic smile.
  22.
  23. "Spudnicus was my blessed." Cal said as he took a seat at the table. "My trusted Knight while I resided in Crafthold. There was little I couldn't ask him to do without knowing he would get it done with the utmost efficiency." Calael looked down sadly, though there was still a smile on his face as he reminisced about his lost friend. "When my siblings and I first showed up on this continent, he was there to protect us right away. He was there when your sister Anise approached the Lighthouse in Thalassia and their moment of being reunited is... one I will never forget."
  24.
  25. He let out a sigh as he remembered all these things, most of which weighed heavily on his mind nearly every day. "...I wanted to save all of you, you know. Anise hoped that someday you and Aaliyah would come to the Lighthouse. Before she passed I told her I would do what I could to see you here."
  26.
  27. The demiangel looked to Sanu again, his gaze filled with a gentle warmth. "...I haven't been able to speak with you one on one yet, so pardon me for butting in like this. I... will ask you now what it is you want to do. How it is you... want to proceed.
  28.
  29. From this point on."
  30. (Calael Kang)
  31. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  32.
  33. [14:15] Tahl's smile remains as Sanu talks about himself. The first step in accepting someone is after all, opening up. Perhaps just by being willing to talk to the small group that is present Sanu won't feel so alone. When he stops talking she nods her head and says "Thank you for letting me know. You've had a life full of fighting, I'm sorry that you lost your loved ones sanu." she says as she turns her head to Calael. A polite smile is given to her friend's father.
  34. (Tahldrig)
  35. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  36.
  37. [14:24] He missed Spud, in undeath Spud's beliefs went against his and Sors but even as Arthur stood in front of him to heal his body, make it 'perfect' he couldn't help but stare at the murderer of his brother. He knew who it was, he couldn't do a thing about it either..
  38.
  39. He was silent, he wanted to remorse the loss of Spud and respect him but there was still a hint of something inside that told him to not be vocal about that specifically.
  40.
  41. Instead he would respond to the next subject. "I don't want to face my mistakes and failures. Even hearing all your points and words I still would rather die than be.." what be believed he'd be was useless, brought back into failure.
  42.
  43. "My time on Agartha is done, is it not? I can't gain the.. courage to take on my faults and crimes, my complete failures and regrets. I am horrible I know."
  44.
  45. He lowered his head, closing the single eye, blocking out the corruption he could only see around him, all those eyes from The Void that stared at him were his regrets now and he couldn't face them much longer.
  46.
  47. His bristly kitsune ears lower on his head, displaying more emotion than he intended to.
  48. (Sanu Ultovex)
  49. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  50.
  51. [14:35] Calael was quiet.
  52.
  53. He had ye to be faced with someone who had come under his care who wished for death itself. Anise being the only undead thus far to undergo the process of Celestial Tethering meant that she served as the only example as to one that came out the other side to live a life, even it was a brief one.
  54.
  55. The demiangel nodded, but offered his view, even still. "I can understand the sentiment. There are many days where... it is difficult to face my own mistakes. And while I will respect your wishes if... an end is what you so desire, I would urge you to consider... living, if not for a little longer, as yourself, and not what that monster tried to turn you into."
  56.
  57. Calael leaned forward and brought his hands together atop the table. "I don't pride myself in being an executioner, Nasu, but I try not to convince myself in being anything else. What I can offer you is... peace. One way or another. But I would urge you to consider what life can be again if you were to undergo the Lighthouse's tethering. You would be able to find some closure, at the very least... you could even return home, if that might bring you some closure as well."
  58.
  59. "In the end it is your choice though... Anise chose to live the years I gave her with her love. She chose to use her final days happy, given all she had been through. And while I would hope your soul won't be subject to anymore pain... one way or another, I feel as though you deserve something other than this end, Nasu. I feel as though you haven't yet found peace with yourself."
  60.
  61. "The preparations are ready, either way. And Ashalle has asked to be here to see this for herself, if you would allow it. I know facing your past is... daunting... but is it not what your family might want for you now?"
  62. (Calael Kang)
  63. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  64.
  65. [14:49] "Anise had others to return to, I don't." He snapped, he wasn't sure why he snapped but he just did and it felt right.
  66.
  67. Calael was right however, he was right that there could be closure, maybe he could end up being better.. put a happy ending to his own life rather then one where The Void stares down at him while he only can remember the grief and regrets of what he did.
  68.
  69. But if he was alive, it could be worse too..
  70.
  71. He was in deeper thought but his thought process was cut out, Ashalle wanted to see him change? "No." His left arm fixed his broken posture, his body was ruined because of her, "She heard my screams of pain already, willingly torturing me within her marble grasp, her bugs swarming me, her corruption belittling mine."
  72.
  73. "I will not allow her.. and you shouldn't allow her either." His left hand balled into a fist, what she did to him in the plains, how she reminded him of his past, how hefelt helpless as Nasu under a koar demon.
  74.
  75. "I wont see my family anyways in the after life, I've come to conclusion." His anger over Ashalle made him lead to this decision, Nasu was always following his emotions.
  76.
  77. "I wish to die."
  78. (Sanu Ultovex)
  79. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  80.
  81. [14:56] The snap didn't cause Calael to recoil or jump. Instead he continued looking onward, listening as intently as ever. Nasu was right. Anise had friends to return to, a fiancé who had lived through Dawn's hell and escaped alongside her. The demiangel wouldn't subject the undead to prolonged life if it was not one he wished for.
  82.
  83. And so he nodded and stood, but took pause again in something that Nasu said.
  84.
  85. "I... hate to disagree with but one thing you said." He didn't want it to go unsaid. "Someday you will see your family again. I believe as much. And I will send you to Anise's own star, if you wish to follow in her path. It's my belief that... Spud resides there as well, if the cosmos' whispers are to be heard correctly."
  86.
  87. He didn't smile or try to make it sound like wish-fulfillment, but just basic facts that he thought were true in this moment.
  88.
  89. "Either way let's... go upstairs. If there are any final arrangements you wish to make, now would be the time."
  90.
  91. And with that, Calael made his way to the second floor of the Lighthouse. Whoever was going to join them was left up to the once Ixis.
  92. (Calael Kang)
  93. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  94.
  95. [14:59] Tahldrig whispers something.
  96. [15:00] Sima Kang whispers something.
  97. [15:02] He came to the conclusion he wouldn't but he had also wondered if Calael was right. From what he was told he wouldn't see them.
  98.
  99. His body was still broken and cripple, he was unable to move, his only way to move would be hovering with wind magic so he would.
  100.
  101. Very slowly he moved and followed. "I can't think of any final arrangements." He spoke plainly, expecting his time to end up there.
  102. (Sanu Ultovex)
  103. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  104.
  105. [15:02] Tahldrig asks, "Nasu? Would you be okay with Sima and I being there as well?"
  106. [15:03] Sanu Ultovex says, "If you wish to follow.. go ahead."
  107. [15:03] Sima Kang says, "... R-right."
  108. [15:03] Calael Kang says, "Go ahead and take a seat."
  109. [15:04] {Item} You drop Telescope Of The Unseen x1.
  110. [15:14] Once upstairs, Calael pulled a lever off to the side that brought the mechanism atop the Lighthouse down through a skylight in the ceiling. Unlike the first floor, this floor was relatively barren, save for a few storage bins, a small living space off to the corner, and the Tethering Chamber beneath the skylight.
  111.
  112. It consisted of an ornate seat surrounded by mirrors filled with swirling fog and clouds. From them the power of the Spirit Realm was flowing forth, and the as the telescope descended, that magic was joined with the might of the cosmic light it had taken in throughout the night.
  113.
  114. Up close, it was nothing more than a large telescope that was fixed on a mechanical arm and seated on a piece that caused it to revolve in a three hundred and sixty degree circle. It was clear that this was the source of the Lighthouse's beam at night, and both ends were aglow with gold and blue light.
  115.
  116. The mechanism was brought down and Calael turned off to the side to read through a book. Flipping through some notes and pages, he found the coordinates once again to the star known as 'The Warrior', the very star that Anise Ixis had chosen as her own. It was truly where her soul resided, and where it would be until it passed on into rebirth entirely, and it was where Nasu's soul would be sent as well.
  117.
  118. The demiangel was reverent and quiet throughout the preperations, and he expected the same behavior of the students who had been allowed to come and view this moment. Not many had witnessed the rumored capabilities of the Lighthouse, and given this would give a true, final peace to Nasu, the process would be unhindered by Calael's normal filters that pulled back on the cosmic light.
  119.
  120. The Starkeeper peered through the viewing end of the telescope to lock onto the Warrior above and he flicked the first of three switches on the side that locked it in place. A second one was activated to cause the telescope to begin taking in as much light from the star as it could, and the far lens brightened to a near blinding point.
  121.
  122. Cal turned back to Nasu, his hands behind his back and his aura missing, given he would have no hand in manipulating the radiation within the metallic cylinder. The light was amassing upon the spire shard refractor inside, and now all that needed to occur was for Nasu to say the word.
  123.
  124. "Nasu Ixis," Calael said softly, "I sincerely hope you find happiness in another life. And what crimes you may have commit here on Agartha in this one are washed away with this choice of yours. I believe your family waits in the night sky above..." he frowned, but wouldn't look away from the undead.
  125.
  126. "Please... ah... give my regards to Airgenald, would you?" A small smile, one he hoped provided a piece of light comfort for the broken man.
  127. (Calael Kang)
  128. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  129.
  130. [15:33] He sat down in the seat, admittedly impressed by the mechanism before him, this was the lighthouse.. what's been causing Dawn troubles, what's been irritating many of the powerful necromancers.
  131.
  132. He awaits silently as Calael prepared and coordinated the star, he reminisces over his past, all the years that had gone by, there were his bad but there were his good too.
  133.
  134. He remembers Aaliayh coming up to him and asking for personal training lessons where Ume couldn't, he remembers all the past events with Spuddy, how he asked for dating advice, how he was there for his wedding. Anise and their time spent together, how she would teach him of Krausism outside of their mother's lessons. Ashera's time with them, where they trained on the beach, had a picnic in the Maple Woods.. he even remembers the small moments with Ume when he was around.
  135.
  136. "I will." He closes his eye, letting his body go numb, not listening to the voidly whispers or the corruption in his mind, he used all his power to shut off the outside world and would speak his final words.
  137.
  138. "Do what Ixis could not. Sors Ultovex grows more each day. There is discord in Dawn, slay the man if you can while there's an advantage." Fully free will, he gave little advice he could to have a hint in right in what he believed his figure was, wrong. "Do not trust Briar ever, they're no better than Dawn.." His arm that he could move goes to the arm rest, he'd enable his feeling and felt a surge of pain from the broken bones in his body, he felt humanity again.
  139.
  140. "Bury me in Huangzhou, near the shoreline please, that's all I ask." He gives a weak smile in return and a nod, giving the que to go on with it, to be free from this living manifested nightmare.
  141. (Sanu Ultovex)
  142. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  143.
  144. [15:37] Ethan arrives!!!
  145.
  146. .. Albeit a bit late. His previous night had been a wild one, after all, leaving him unable to quite make it on time where he was supposed to help. Truth be told he knew his 'help' wouldn't be necessary. After all he was present when Anise went through and there was nothing he had to do back then.
  147.
  148. For now he observed.
  149. (Ethan Hawke)
  150. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  151.
  152. [15:41] Sima hadn't "seen" this part of the lighthouse before. Sure, he'd snuck up here once or twice while his father slept in the house (which was rare). Yet to be up here without having to be stealthy was something else. To witness his father's telescope in action, despite its currently applied method, was a rarity even.
  153.
  154. The young Kang's lips purse into a thin line as his father and the Kitsune speak. Perhaps in a better time he'd been able to seen Spudnicus and Nasu both in his youth and grow up knowing them.
  155.
  156. Crossing his arms against his chest he'd clutch to either sleeve of the jacket. It felt wrong to watch the death of another while they had a chance to rebel against that monster. He recalled that horse within the bogs of the swamp, however, and how not everything can be swayed from death.
  157.
  158. A harsh lesson for the azure-haired teen.
  159.
  160. He'd nod twice behind the divider at the undead's mention of the Briars. If there was one thing the two agreed on in their short time of knowing each other it was that. Keeping his eyes trained on the telescope, he'd do his best not to shy away from what was to come.
  161. (Sima Kang)
  162. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  163.
  164. [15:42] Tahl follows up the stairs after getting the OK from Nasu, a frown upon her face. She's not one to understand not wanting to keep trying. To do otherwise to her is unheard of. Yet still, she won't voice her mind. This is Nasu's choice and one she will respect.
  165.
  166. She looks over to the mirrors filled with swirling fog curiously, then the telescope descends. She stares at it for a few seconds before she watches Calael flip through a book, what could be in that book, is it the findings of him charting what he has so far of the stars? The work that Sima will one day aid him in, possibly with her assistance?
  167.
  168. Not a sound is made from Tahl as she watches what goes on. Once Calael begins stating his hope of Nasu finding happiness in another life Tahl finally moves. There are no steps taken forward, however she does reach over and gently grab Sima's wrist.
  169.
  170. Her attention moves over to Nasu as he speaks, not uttering a word. She hopes that he can find what he never had in this life out among the stars. Peace and happiness.
  171.
  172. Even though Sima has crossed his arms, her hand still went towards a wrist. She doesn't exactly want to see someone die. Not when they could have chosen life.. but she is curious about the workings of the lighthouse itself and how it will free his soul.
  173. (Tahldrig)
  174. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  175.
  176. [15:47] Cal offered Nasu a grateful bow of his head as he advised them on Ultovex's growing power and his view of those in Briarlocke. What influence on the future both the Adjudicator of Dawn and the group that had taken up residence in Crafthold's ruins had would be watched and monitored with Levengard's attention, especially with the warnings of a greater darkness on the horizon. The demiangel was uncertain as to what the coming days held, but for the moment, he was willing to see Nasu depart this stormy world for a place far better, one filled with light and warmth.
  177.
  178. "Thank you. Take care, Nasu." Is all he said before he flicked the final switch.
  179.
  180. With its release, the chamber that separated the spire shard refractor from the viewing lens pointed at Nasu opened, and through it came the unfiltered and brilliant light of the Warrior. It smashed into the undead's chest and lit his body up with a cosmic glow.
  181.
  182. The light wrapped around him, shaking both the seat and Nasu himself. Fog drifted inward from the mirrors, bringing with it full memory and spiritual essence that, if the beam was turned off when it should be, would have left Nasu in a state of near humanity once again. It was here where anything Sors Ultovex had done to him would be wiped away. From the mirrors, the shrieking of the nethradin bound within Nasu could be heard as it was pulled away.
  183.
  184. There was no place for the Void to hide either, not within this blatant an overbearing celestial light. Darkness was damned, and it would give Nasu a brief moment to feel whole again, himself, for his final few seconds.
  185.
  186. Calael's cloak rippled behind him, billowing outward even without his usual connection to the telescope being made. The aura of the Warrior dove inward, penetrating Nasu's bones, muscle, and corporeal body before it would latch on and find his very soul. A connection was made, one that began with a sudden, ethereal tug that indicated the star had claimed his inner ghost.
  187.
  188. And the Starkeeper let the beam continue.
  189.
  190. Another tug, another pull and the cosmic light began to fill Nasu entirely, repairing the empty pieces that were left behind as bit by bit his soul was taken up to the sky above, directly fired there through a golden bridge.
  191.
  192. It continued on like this in silence, in solemn respect for a tragic life given a merciful end. Until Nasu's body was still and glowing, Cal would leave the beam on, and only once those eyes filled with starlight had closed would it end.
  193.
  194. "...the shoreline then. Rest well, Ixis." he said, turning to gather the guards and assistants who would make such arrangements possible.
  195.
  196. The Lighthouse's first execution was finished, and its Keeper took no pride in the death it had delivered.
  197. (Calael Kang)
  198. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  199.
  200. [16:02] His head hung low, the final switch flickered and the cosmic light of the star was released upon the undead. He felt himself becoming whole again, the damage of Sors Ultovex being undone.
  201.
  202. The corruption was vanishing from him, he felt more human, the feeling of the lifestream crying was lesser and gone as his undeath was being cleansed more so, the grief that was heightened from the nethradin lessened but was still present, he felt better for a few moments..
  203.
  204. All of it was torn away from him, the nethradin bound inside would be pulled out, the horrible shrieking of it slowly fading away, the whispers of The Void and the eyes that watched him daily would begin to vanish, he was cleansed and just for that moment the undead was able to shed a single tear through it all.
  205.
  206. It connects to his soul, and begins to pull it away to the sky, slowly more and more of the divine manifestation was leaving Nasu Ixis Kimyona.
  207.
  208. His life would end finally, at least he would findpeace among his family in the stars, what he felt was a better ending.
  209.
  210. His eyes slowly close, blocking the light within the sockets and his body slumped ever so slightly amongst the shaking of the cosmic beam, all that was left was his body.
  211. (Sanu Ultovex)
  212. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  213.
  214. [16:03] {Item} You picked up Telescope Of The Unseen. Dropped by Calael Kang. .
  215. [16:08] Lights began to wrap around Nasu, fog coming from the mirrors, and as the cosmic energies built up in the room, Tahl's gentle grip on Sima tightened. She remains wordless as she watches just as she did before. So this is the way Celestial Tethering visually works. An immense beam of cosmic energy that causes her cloak to move.
  216.
  217. At least there's no screaming.. It's a peaceful and merciful end to the life, that's far more than most on Agartha got it seems.
  218.
  219. Tahl finally speaks, her words broken up. "Journey.. safe.. Nasu Ixis, I won't forget you."
  220. (Tahldrig)
  221. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  222.
  223. [16:08] The small siren watched with wide eyes in awe mixed with a bit of horror as the beam of light pierced the undead in the chair. She grabbed the stone railing near herself as if expecting it to shake the whole tower... but that never happened. It would just continue to fill the man's being up.
  224.
  225. At a certain point Vimilha had begun to feel saddened by the sight. She'd never witnessed another person dying before, and with such a beautiful spectacle ushering his soul away. It was... perhaps bittersweet, or something similar.
  226. (Vimilha)
  227. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  228.
  229. [16:10] This wasn't what he had expected coming up to the lighthouse. After all he thought his and Cordelia's words would've gotten through to the Kitsune - that he would want to keep on living and go on with his life even for five more years to undo all the bad that he had done. This... wasn't it. The Wayfinder's eyes remain stuck upon the bright lights, the cosmic energies, and the might of this structure itself as Nasu's life came undone.
  230.
  231. It stung.
  232. (Ethan Hawke)
  233. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  234.
  235. [16:10] Observing in what was only awe the young Kang's eyes follow the traveling beam of starlight. Sima's grip upon the sleeves of his jacket tighten, the fabric pulled into a ball within his fist. Was the intensity of such a beam truly that powerful to rock the seat and undead alike?
  236.
  237. The sudden shrieking of Nethradin elicits a jump from Sima. With eyes as wide as saucer plates he continues to remain until the very end. He wouldn't notice Tahldrig's grip, all the more focused on the now slumped body of a past attacker. One question rang true in his mind.
  238.
  239. Was this really how it should've ended?
  240. (Sima Kang)
  241. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  242.
  243. [16:11] Tahldrig whispers something.
  244. [16:15] Calael Kang says, "I will be... preparing to bury the body."
  245. [16:15] Calael Kang says, "Ah... please let Ashalle know, Ethan... I will inform Thera later as well."
  246. [16:15] Calael Kang says, "Mm..."
  247. [16:16] Calael makes his way out quietly.
  248. (Calael Kang)
  249. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
