  1. "It is no surprise that many of the folk who live in Sudbury have a great deal of disapproval and malice towards those in the City Watch and the First Light. It is from that very malice that this question comes from; What is your opinion on those two orders and, should you be elected, do you intend to rally them to aid Sudbury or do you believe the district should be kept separate from their 'assistance'?"

  3.
  4. Alythia: "Let me first start by saying that my own brother is a member of the Order of the First Light." She would reply, facing Discourse. "I worry for his safety all the time, honestly. I can't bare to think what might happen if a war was declared tomorrow... "
  5.
  6. "The knights, as I like to call them both because I'm perhaps a bit old fashioned, most of them are really just doing their honest jobs. They take orders from those of a higher rank than them, usually the older, more established ones. And I understand that Sudbury folks are wary of them, with rumours of police brutality ever popular."
  7.
  8. "If there were more people sympathetic of Sudbury among the ranks, just like if there were more representatives sympathetic of Sudbury among the ruling class, then this would not be a hot issue. Unfortunately, it is, and I cannot deny the existence of bias, prejudice and discrimination. And people of Sudbury know all too well, a rotten apple spoils the whole basket."
  9.
  10. "I would filter the members of the First Light and the City Watch, and only permit selected individuals of good character to patrol Sudbury, which will be regarded as a special region requiring special care. I would also seriously urge the ruling class to look into those certain members who have controversies surrounding them."
  11.
  12. "Crimes must be punished, especially when committed by the law enforcers themselves."
  13. (Alythia Endore)

  15.
  16. Iris: "I've made my opinion on the Order of the First Light clear in the past. It is my opinion that they should remain primarily a military force rather than law enforcement. My experience with them has been in the majority an experience of corruption, bigotry and self righteousness. They put themselves above the commonfolk whilst still claiming to care. I do not trust the First Light, and I doubt that I am the only one in Sudbury to have this opinion."
  17.
  18. "When it comes to the Watch I've had a more mixed experience. Whilst there have been reports of corruption and abuse of power within the organisation, its current commander, Task, has been nothing but honorable as far as I've seen. I hold a degree of bias due to my position within the Watch -which will of course end if I am elected- but Commander Task has resolved to eliminate these issues where they may be found. It is my belief also that the First Light's continuing infringement on Watch jurisdiction is stifling the organisation."
  19.
  20. "Taking into account the hostility towards the Order from both the Rhoynish minority -as well as the effect on this minority from the continued interference of the Order in Sudbury, which only reminds them of a painful past many would prefer to forget- and the common folk of Sudbury, it is my intent to do my best to reduce Order presence in the district whilst increasing the presence of the Watch so that there is less overlap between the two's jurisdiction, overlap which breeds resentment and hostility between the two organisations and allows people guilty of minor crimes to slip through the crack and end up being handed life sentences by the Order. I'd also like to encourage Watch recruitment from Sudbury, to increase employment opportunities in the district."
  21.
  22. "The more we separate Sudbury from Osrona, the more we allow them to justify caring less about us. Making us a 'special region' is foolish and further divides us from the city proper."
  23. --
  24.
  25. Timothy:"It might come as no surprise given how much Magic is a part of my life, that I've friends in both. Magi are always in demand for the Order and the Watch both, and while I'm not a member of either, I count men and woman in both organizations as friends."
  26.
  27. "I will not condone the lessening of either's role in Sudbury's future. Not a day ago, a Knight of the Order defended the people of Sudbury against the presence of the Terrorist Syndicate. Almost every day I see the good people of the Watch acting as silent sentinels, ever present and unobtrusive in how they guard us. That is not what the First Light is, and will not ever be what they are. They are not unobtrusive. But they are necessary to face those threats that the Watch cannot."
  28.
  29. "And if we are speaking of harsh reminders of the past. I'm sure more than a few people of this city lost friends, and family to the Rhoynish peoples aggression. The past is painful, but we must mend it if we're going to live together in peace, rather than re-ignite the wars of old anew."

  32. Simon: "I've not had many encounters with the City Watch. But I've had plenty encounters with the First Order. For those of you who do not know. I was locked away for a year after fighting Exarch Elijah during the riot two years ago. So I do not hold the First Order in the highest light."
  33.
  34. "If you did not know. The punishment for attacking a Exarch is Death. I knew this then and I know this now. But I fought because a fellow friend of mine a fellow Sudbury native needed my help. Just as you need my help now.. That is why as I stated before. Sudbury needs its own Watch."
  35.
  36. "I believe the First order and the City watch can be both helpful and both negative to Sudbury. That is my opinion. But the fact is this. They do have the law and power above us. Let me return the power back to you."
  37. (Simon Gelmont)
