  9. 1. HISTORY
  10. Mora’s drop transformation has occurred recently in her life, with current estimates being only 1-2 years before her arrival in Pike. However, Mora greatly dislikes talking about her history prior to her arrival in the city and will refuse to answer questions pertaining to anything from the period of her transformation or earlier, making it difficult to create an accurate timeline. Mora claims this stems from nothing more than a desire to try to forge a new life for herself without the “baggage of [her] past.” It is unknown how much of this statement is true, or if Mora may suffer from post-transformation amnesia to some degree.
  11. Mora’s high magical affinity and knowledge of runes, incantations, and artifact creation (See section 3. Abilities, Skills, and Traits) allowed her to obtain her current employment with relative ease. Despite showing good capability, however, she has been unable to rise beyond a senior level, something that often bothers her.
  12.
  13. 2. PERSONALITY
  14. Mora possesses a naturally inquisitive, energetic disposition. She greatly enjoys both the discovery of novel knowledge and the exploitation of knowledge in the creation of something new. As such she tends to greatly enjoy her work, and it is easy for her to get invested in a discussion about how something might work or be made.
  15. Despite, or perhaps because of, her curious nature, Mora’s attention and focus can often prove fickle and difficult to manage. An object or task that fails to adequately capture her attention can prove disproportionately difficult for her to focus on. Conversely one that manages to evoke fascination may claim her focus to the point that she forgets to take care of even basic needs. If such an occurrence proves problematic, removal of the object of fascination is often a quick way to remedy the situation.
  16. Mora has also been described by others as “slightly snarky” and “mischievous.” These comments are included here for completeness. No evaluations have been performed to date on these traits.
  17.
  18. 3. ABILITIES, SKILLS, AND TRAITS
  19. This section will list Mora’s notable abilities, skills, and traits in a shortened form. Explanation will be given where needed.
  20. 3.1 PIXILATE
  21. Mora can condense her magic into shapes and structures capable of exerting physical force on the world around her. Though technically capable of producing any shape she can conceptualize, she finds it exceptionally difficult to properly form more complicated designs without significant time and effort investment. To compensate for this, she has trained herself to quickly produce cubic or rectangular shapes. She then uses these shapes to produce other, more complex structures in a far faster, more efficient manner than direct manifestation. As this is like the process with which a digital display constructs an image, Mora has dubbed the ability “Pixilate,” and the cubes it produces “pixels.”
  22. Pixilate is an exceptionally versatile ability, and Mora incorporates it in much of her day-to-day life. The exact traits of each pixel can be controlled to a very fine degree, allowing them to vary in size, color, hardness, temperature, texture, and more. By combining multiple pixels together magical constructs or replicas can be created, such as a tool like a screwdriver or a weapon like a sword. By utilizing a larger number of smaller pixels (Something Mora refers to as “increasing resolution,”) the created constructs can even be made indistinguishable from their normal counterparts by normal, physical senses.
  23. However, there are some notable limitations to Pixilate:
  24. 1. Pixels require negligible energy to create, but expend energy based on any ways in which they interact with the physical world or other sources of energy. An intangible pixel that only gives off light, for example, will require very little energy to create and maintain, while one that attempts to directly stop a large, falling object would require significantly more.
  25. 2. Pixels must either remain within a small proximity from Mora or within her line-of-sight. If a pixel is removed from this proximity while outside of Mora’s line of sight, or if it was already too far when her vision moves from it, it will immediately dissipate. This can be temporarily circumvented by somehow attaching the pixel to an alternative energy source, but this is often not worth the effort.
  26. 3. Pixels are not capable of changing state or their own traits on their own. All changes must be enacted by Mora herself. This is a large effective limit on the type of objects that can be created. For example, while Mora is theoretically capable of creating something as complex as a mainframe, doing so would require her to mentally map out every single change of every single pixel used within the construct. She would, in effect, have to simulate the entirety of the mainframe’s operation within her own mind, something that is simply not possible for her to do.
  27. 4. Pixels take time to produce. Individual pixels can be generated very quickly, but the sheer number of them required to make high-resolution constructs causes even this small timespan to quickly add up. As a result, many constructs that are generated “in the moment” tend to be rough and blocky in appearance from the usage of fewer, larger pixels, and often cannot perform more complex tasks. Mora will often choose to repurpose existing pixels over making new ones when she can for this reason and will often create fashion accessories or articles of clothing to wear out of pixels so she always has some on hand.

  29. 3.2 PHYSIOLOGY
  30. As a drop Mora’s body is highly mutable and attuned to magic, especially the Aura element. This has several effects on her physiology:
  31. - Mora can make alterations to her physical form of her own free will. She has only shown the ability to change smaller details of her body to date, such as the shape (or absence thereof) of the frills on the side of her head and the natural markings on her body thus far, but this may be due to her relative inexperience with her Drop physiology. She may become capable of making more significant alterations as time progresses.
  32. o This is assuming that she wishes to. Changes to date have been made with the same consideration as changing one’s hair or clothing style. This suggests she may be comfortable with her current form.
  33. - Mora’s body is also heavily affected by her mental and emotional state and will change regardless of her wishes as her emotions grow more intense. These changes can be rather drastic, far exceeding anything she has been observed to do on her own. These changes never cause harm to Mora, though the emotional blowback from particularly intense negative emotions can cause her to feel pain or discomfort. A few notable changes that have been observed to date:
  34. o Spontaneous Combustion – Observed during periods of extreme anger and what Mora describes as being “literally fired up.” In this state her body begins to emit flames as if it were on fire, though she does not actually burn. The flames, however, are hot and can scorch those who are too careless around them. The flames are not typically hot enough to spread to other surfaces, though they likely could become so if Mora’s emotions become strong enough. Less extreme emotions can cause Mora to grow warm to the touch and emit the smell of smoke.
  35. o Physical shrinking/discoloration – Observed during periods of fear and sadness. Her body physically reduces in size and her coloration dulls in proportion to the intensity of the emotion.
  36. o Sparkling – Observed from extreme adoration. This effect notably requires much higher emotional levels to become apparent relative to others and is thus rarely seen. Less intense emotions may cause her coloration to grow brighter and more vibrant.
  37. - Note that potential changes are not limited to the above. Emotional mixes can also themselves bring forth unique changes different from what any single emotion may cause on their own, E.G. a mixture of sadness and anger may not cause a combination of combustion, discoloration, and shrinking, but rather an entirely different effect. To further complicate matters these effects can also change based on the exact emotional mixture, making it all but impossible to determine how Mora’s body may physically react to a given situation when she is driven to emotional extremes.
  38. - Extreme Regeneration – Mora’s magic does not only assert itself on her own body during periods of extreme emotions but is instead a more constant influence. Her own aura and body are constantly trying to reach a state of equilibrium and will immediately attempt to restore this equilibrium when it is lost. When this occurs due to injury Mora’s body will attempt to absorb ambient magic and utilize it to repair itself. The exact rate of repair depends on the density and type of the ambient magic being absorbed. Extreme concentrations of ambient Aura magic will allow her body to recover the fastest, while low concentrations of Ice results in the slowest rate of repair. Mora can continue to function during this process, though she will continue to feel any pain or discomfort caused by the injury as it repairs. In the event the injury proves too critical or fatal, however, she will fall unconscious. She can be roused by outside forces once the damage is no longer fatal but will not do so naturally until the damage is completely repaired. It is unknown how much and what parts of Mora must survive for regeneration to occur; this line of testing obviously violates too many ethical regulations to pursue.
  39.
  40. 3.3 MISC. AND MINOR ABILITIES AND SKILLS
  41. Mora possesses a few other, more minor abilities that do not fit in to the prior categories, as well as a few notable skills:
  42. - Empathic Link: Mora reflexively attempts to form a connection with those she interacts with. This connection gives her impressions of the emotional state of whomever is the object of her focus, allowing her to instinctively determine their emotional state provided that her own mind is clear enough to process the information. This is not something she is capable of consciously controlling. In fact, attempting to use this ability consciously will drastically decrease its accuracy, as Mora cannot differentiate between the impressions she legitimately receives from the link and those generated by her own mind while waiting for answers. As this is an unconscious, reflexive action, it is relatively easy to block when one is aware of it. This will draw Mora’s notice, however, as it will make the interaction feel unusually devoid of emotion for her.
  43. - Regenerative Copy: A minor magic developed by Mora as a method of first-aid. This magic attempts to mimic Mora’s regeneration process on the recipient in a more limited and accelerated manner, restoring damage and healing wounds. However, Mora does not possess the medical knowledge needed to safely treat more serious and complex injuries and cannot treat things such as poison and diseases at all. As such this magic is primarily used to treat simpler injuries like cuts and minor bone fractures, or to stabilize an individual until more capable help can arrive. Notably this magic can also be used to empower any regeneration capabilities an individual may already possess, making it more effective than it normally would be.
  44. - Magical Proficiencies: Unsurprisingly for a Drop Mora possesses a higher than average magical capability. Mora is naturally capable of wielding Aura-aspected magic exceptionally well, and, by extension, possess a high proficiency with Fire and Spirit magic as well. Ice magic, however, has shown to be difficult for her to grasp, and she claims that attempting to use the element feels “gross.” She theorizes this is due to a strong opposition with her Aura affinity, or at least her own manifestation of it.
  45. o Mora is most effective with Runic magic and is capable of using Pixilate to make runic inscriptions far smaller and with more precision than is possible by hand alone.
  46. o Mora has shown an interest in artifact creation and seems to possess moderate knowledge in the field. She seems eager to study this area, though she has yet to provide more than one or two examples of her abilities in the area.
  47. o Mora has at least a minor knowledge with Incantations, though only with regular written and spoken variants. Though a music aficionado, music-based incantations seem to escape her completely.
  48. o Mora is not only incompetent with potions, but also seems particularly prone to making damaging errors when attempting to work with them. It is highly advised not to let her do this.
