Celebrity

This maybe sounds elitist and egotistical but I always kind of find it strange that we celebrate young celebrities Zendaya, Jaden and Willow Smith, Amandla and others for being "woke" but in my opinion the things they are "woke" about aren't some conspiracies uncovered or widely unknown things but rather things that have been discussed, debated and argued on an academic level for decades. I think it's amazing we celebrate people liberating themselves from ignorance by learning about their conditions and I realize some people grow up with parent who don't teach them really common things, but I'm not sure we should applaud people for saying the bare minimum. No hate to these stated people but I just feel like they aren't saying anything thought provoking, they're just young and saying it/coming of age.
