  1. >"You, have arrived."
  2. >It's just a Diner.
  3. >This must've been a joke all along.
  4. >Kick the ground and sit along the curve.
  5. >Hear the diner door open and just ignore it.
  6. >Go back to your pone and set the way to go back home.
  7. >Punked by a introverted girl?
  8. >This is just a new low for yo-
  9. >"Anon?"
  10. >Sense a small pressure being set on your left shoulder as the faint voice speaks.
  11. >Turn around to see...
  12. "Fluttershy?"
  13. >Straightaway, she clutches you into a hug.
  14. >The hug lasts for a prolonged amount of time.
  15. >You wanted to speak up, but it just feels right.
  16. >She does let go, and sits right beside you.
  17. >"Why are you out here?"
  18. "Actually, I should be asking you the same thing."
  19. >You just realized that she's holding a bag from the diner behind you.
  20. >It makes a crepitate sound as it's being gripped harder in her hands.
  21. >"Well, there's something that you should see."
  22. >She gets up and walks off to the side of the diner.
  23. >You arise and follow her.
  24. >Head back of the diner and catch a whiff of the dumpster.
  25. "Aww, God... Is this it?"
  26. >She turns her head to you for a brief moment and turns back.
  27. >"I know, but I didn't wanted to show you that."
  28. >Fluttershy points along a small trail, leading into the forest.
  29. >She then heads off into it.
  30. >OK, at this point, this must be some kind of joke.
  31. >One thing about traveling here, but to go into the woods?
  32. "Fluttershy. are we going for a small stroll and some fresh air?"
  33. >The small tee-hee that she made later was absolutely lovable.
  34. >"Oh no, Anon. This is the way to where I live."
  35. >It's difficult to ask her if she's serious anymore.
  36. >You've made it this far, so let's just see on where this goes.
  37. "You better not be making some kind of joke."
  38. >"It's not." She said while giving off a solemn tone.
  39. >Fluttershy then turns back and continues heading into the greenwoods.
  40. >Best as well follow her.
  41. >As you do so, you check on your right arm.
  42. >See that there's a long bruise lined on one side.
  43. >Shit, that will be hard to explain it in a badass story.
  44. >Try to hide it by laying it against you.
  45. >It's not as sensible roughly an hour ago, but that doesn't mean that it's still sore.
  46. >Screw it, off into the woods you go.
  47.
  48. >"Come on, we're almost there."
  49. "Shy, you said that 4 minutes ago."
  50. >You've been going down this path for about 10 minutes now.
  51. >Encountering a few logs, some rocks, and an unleveled crack.
  52. >You almost tripped on a few of them, but thank god there's still light out here to see them.
  53. >"Trust me, it's not too far."
  54. >She then runs off.
  55. "Flutters, wait, hold on."
  56. >Walk around the bush she went to and see a cottage in a clear, open space.
  57. >You see her waiving from the doorstep.
  58. >Make a small jog to catch up.
  59. >"What do you think?"
  60. "It's amazing."
  61. >She makes that same sweet giggle from earlier.
  62. >"Wait until you see inside."
  63. >She opens the door to reveal her living room.
  64. "Woah..."
  65. >"Make yourself at home. Please, sit down."
  66. >You head for the couch and rest your stuff on the side.
  67. >Fluttershy promptly sits right beside you.
  68. "I must say, this place is very cozy."
  69. >She blushes and puts her hands in between her legs.
  70. "How come you live out here?"
  71. >She dots her eyes around in a depressed motion, lowers her eyebrows and eyelids.
  72. >"It's... it's nothing special. You wouldn't care to listen."
  73. >You scoff.
  74. "If I can listen to your troubles at school, then why can't I listen to know you a little more?"
  75. >She gives off a sorrowful sigh.
  76. >"Are... you sure?"
  77. >She gives her sad puppy dog eyes at you.
  78. >You give off a warming smile and look at her eyes.
  79. "I would love to."
  80. >She then begins a narrative of her own life.
  81.
  82. >From the day she was born, it was followed with multiple unfortunate events.
  83. >Her father died from a car crash incident when he was on his way to see her birth at the hospital.
  84. >Her mom struggled to raise her for the next few years, only to caved in.
  85. >Fluttershy was sent into an orphanage at the age of 5.
  86. >That hellhole gave her some unreasonable abuse for a few years.
  87. >At the age of 9, she then ran away and head into the outskirts of town.
  88. >Only able to run into the diner, not too far from this cottage.
  89. >The lady who own the restaurant saw Fluttershy and took her in.
  90. >This is where they live.
  91. >Only, is that the owner barely comes in here.
  92. >Since that diner is 24/7 and has a record of robberies from strangers and the employees.
  93. >At school wasn;t any better.
  94. >She was too timid to make friends, and to make matters worse, being picked on by everyone because of it.
  95. >Basically, throughout Fluttershy's life, she was alone.
  96. >Not anymore.
  97.
  98. >She lightly snivels during halfway, and now after telling her story, it's now in full effect.
  99. >In a compulsion, you cradle her into a hug.
  100. >The crying stopped for a moment, but comes back later into small sniffles.
  101. >This hug is like the one from back at the statue and for some reason, you didn't wanted it to end.
  102. >As you tried to stroke her hair, your arm starts to have searing pain
  103. >For now, you boldly pass through it, and bite your lower lip.
  104. >"It's so nice, *sniff* to have finally met someone who can hear about me... protect me... who cares about me."
  105. >Tears start to swell up in you eyes.
  106. >Not only from Fluttershy, but also from your arm.
  107. >It has the sensation of it being slowly roasted on an open fire.
  108. >Resistance from crying is now pointless, and you just release the dam.
  109. >"Please... don't feel bad for me..."
  110. "It... it's not only that."
  111. >She let's go, and you do the same with her hair.
  112. >"What's wrong?"
  113. >You start to wipe the tears from your eyes, until Fluttershy grabs your right one and looks at it.
  114. >"Oh my. Your arm! I'll go and get something to help it."
  115. >Fluttershy jumps up and speeds off into the kitchen.
  116. >"Just keep that arm elevated while I'm gone."
  117. >Do as she's instructed by grabbing your wrist with your left hand and holding it up.
  118. >She comes back in the room holding an ice pack.
  119. >"Here, just relax and let me take care of it."
  120. >You would refuse and say that you'll toughen it out, but seeing her taking care of you is something.
  121. >Normally, when you're sick or injured, you just lay in your bed until you get better.
  122. >Seeing Fluttershy taking care of you is something you just allowed.
  123. >And by now, you realized the cold sensation from the ice pack.
  124. >The arm has a soothing vibe going around the damaged tissue.
  125. >By now you realized that you've been staring at the ice pack.
  126. >Intense thinking really does get you to look at nothing that has no purpose.
  127. >Look up to see Fluttershy with her eyes googling at you.
  128. >"Is everything alright? Do you need more or less ice?"
  129. >You're trying to think of some excuse, but nothing comes to mind.
  130. >May as well come clean.
  131. "It's fine. It's just... I've been thinking, that's all."
  132. >"Do you want to talk about it? It's the least I can do for what you've done for me."
  133. >You then rambled about what there is about you.
  134. >Well, for the most part.
  135. >You told her about why you're here, where did you come from, and even, told her that you're alone in this town.
  136. >"Well, that's not true. We have each other."
  137. >That truly did give you a smile.
  138. >And you end your story by telling her your "incident" with the arm.
  139. >She couldn't help but laugh at it.
  140. >"Oh, I'm sorry. It's so sweet that you went back to get it. But, you could have just send a text message about it."
  141. >AreYouFuckingSerious.png
  142. "I didn't wanted to let you down or ruin a first impression, that's all."
  143. >"But you have done so much for me already, I would never be disappointed."
  144. >Fluttershy backs away a little, only for you to see that her face is a few inches away from yours.
  145. >Her cheeks are coloured in with a faint red hue, along with her beady eyes focused on yours.
  146. >It seems like she wants to do something, but you're not sure of what it is.
  147. >Whatever it may be, she slowly raises her arms to you shoulders and softly grasps them.
  148. >She leans her head in a little, her teal eyes start to gleam.
  149. >But for some reason, she just stops halfway. Only about four inches away of her face from your own.
  150. >Instead you make the next move.
  151. >You lower the ice pack resting on your arm and wrap it around her waist, giving her a firm hug.
  152. >"Eep!"
  153. >Is there anything that this girl won't do something so adorable?
  154. >She doesn't do anything, she's traumatized from your sudden movements.
  155. >For a while it says that way, until she meets up with your hug.
  156. >She wraps her arms around you and also snuggles along your torso.
  157. >The arm that's damaged doesn't have that aching feeling like the last hug.
  158. >But, you're remembered about the assignment.
  159. >Damn, hate to ruin this moment, but this needs to be done.
  160. "Hey, Flutters?"
  161. >"Hmm?"
  162. "Sorry to do this, but I really should do that homework."
  163. >"Oh, no, it's fine, really. You can go ahead, I'll get us something to drink. Would you like something?"
  164. "Just, water. That's fine."
  165. >Simultaneously, both of you let go of the hug and go at what each of you needed to do.
  166. >"I'll be right back, you can do your homework here."
  167. >Get out your backpack and take out a sheet of paper, 0.5 led pencil, and the "Romeo & Juliet" book.
  168. >Open up on where you left off and continue reading.
  169. >"Would you like it if I read along with you?"
  170. >You hear the glass cups land on the table as your friend speak up from near you.
  171. "Nah, it's fine."
  172. >"Please? I don't want to see you work all by yourself. And, when you read it out loud, it sounds... nice."
  173. >Her voice dimmed down during that follow up, but that last word was barely audible.
  174. >Anyway, someone liking your voice?
  175. >It's just not common from other people.
  176. >But, having a reading buddy doesn't sound too bad.
  177. "Sure, that sounds fine."
  178. >She reaches for her backpack and pulls out the book.
  179. >Huh, that was fast.
  180. >"Um, where did you leave off?"
  181. "Oh, Act One, Scene 5, Line 95."
  182. >"Thank you. Please, go on."
  183. >Now you read out the first sentence for that page to her.
  184. "If I profane with my unworthiest hand"
  185. "This holy shrine, the gentle sin is this:"
  186. "My lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand"
  187. "To smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss."
  188. >"Good pilgrim, you do wrong your hand too much,"
  189. >"Which mannerly devotion shows in this,"
  190. >"For saints have hands that pilgrims' hands do touch,"
  191. >"And palm to palm is holy palmers' kiss."
  192. >You stand in awe of how she takes over as Juliet, and in a spot on attitude.
  193. >"Oh, I-I'm sorry, did you wanted to do that by yourself?"
  194. "No, that was very impressive."
  195. >Her face reddens up from your compliment.
  196. >Fluttershy tries to hide it by raising the book up to the lower half of her face.
  197. >"It's nothing. I just do it when no one's around."
  198. "It certainly is a talent that you have."
  199. >The book is lowered from her face, and she reveals her coral pink cheeks.
  200. >"Thank you."
  201. >The both of you continue on reading on and finish off Act 1.
  202. >Now the report.
  203. >Reach out for the pen-
  204. "Ow."
  205. >Just as you tried to pick up the pencil, it rolls to the side and falls to the ground.
  206. >"I'll get it."
  207. >She doesn't hesitate and gets the pencil.
  208. "Ah, thanks."
  209. >Try to reach out, but your muscles are still sore.
  210. "Man, that hurts."
  211. >"Here, I'll write it for you."
  212. "No, it's fine. It's my assignment, I can do it."
  213. >"But I'm the one who got you into this mess."
  214. >Sadly, that's true.
  215. "If it wasn't for that, I wouldn't have known the true Fluttershy, or possibly hang out with you."
  216. >"Well... But... I was the one who gave you that sore arm."
  217. "That one was all me, just in a rush and all."
  218. >"Please, I must!" What sounded shy and nervous, is now more along the type of demanding and pleading.
  219. >You would continue this argument, yet that sudden outburst i.
  220. "Alright, I guess. Just follow on what I say, alright?"
  221. >"Okay."
  222. >For the next half hour, you instruct Fluttershy on your view of the tale's plot so far.
  223. >"And, there. Here it is."
  224. >She hands you the report and see it in a beautiful cursive writing.
  225. >How is it? Did I mess up. I'm so sorry that if I did. I knew that "I" in the third sentence was off a little bit and-"
  226. >Snicker a little from her self doubting.
  227. "Don't worry, it's fine. This is actually elegant and proficient from what I can ever write."
  228. >It's true, even before you busted your arm, you're writing was no different from hieroglyphics.
  229. >At least those can be understood, compared to what you normally scribble down.
  230. "Thank you for helping me."
  231. >Look outside and see the sun starting to set down in the horizon.
  232. >Since you're in the forest, all you're able to see is a blend of sky blue with peach and vermilion.
  233. "I probably must go."
  234. >"What?"
  235. >"It's getting late." Point to the window as this is being said.
  236. >"Oh, don't worry, you can stay here a little longer can't you?"
  237. >Oh, this sweet and naive girl.
  238. >Start to put your things away.
  239. "I wish I could, but I really should get home before-"
  240. >"NO! I mean- please. Stay."
  241. >She then grabs you on the right arm.
  242. >It's a small squeeze, but it still strains around the nerves a little.
  243. "Aww!"
  244. >"Oops, I'm so sorry!"
  245. >It's... it's fine."
  246. >Fluttershy loosens her grip and lets go of you.
  247. >You stretch the arm out a little bit.
  248. >"Please... don't go." She almost whispers.
  249. >You think about this for a moment.
  250. >Why is she like this?
  251. >Oh, she's been so alone throughout her life and barely had anyone to talk to, let alone be around her.
  252. >What about the arm?
  253. >Fuck it, that can probably heal overnight... or so that you hope.
  254. >Is she that desperate for you to stay a little longer?
  255. >Let's see...
  256. "But if it get's any later, I'll probably have to sleepover."
  257. >She lightens her eyes and cheeks a little, along with her hands twirling her hair.
  258. >"C...could y-you?"
  259. >Is this even reality at this point?
  260. >But then again, you always wanted to have a sleepover.
  261. >But with a few guys, not with a girl.
  262. >This just feels a little out of the ordinary.
  263. >Then again, that foster home did fuck over any possibility on what she could've had at the time.
  264. >Well, best to make this on what you can.
  265. >Home is going to miss me for tonight.
  266. "I guess... I can sleepover for tonight."
  267. >Such a squee that she made just pulled the pin on your heart.
  268. >It was just too much cuteness from her.
  269. >So much, that you didn't realize that she's getting you in a bear hug.
  270. >Snap out of it!
  271. >Look at the girl and attempt to breathe.
  272. >Fluttershy then lets go and backs away.
  273. .She's just roughly a hundred centimeters away from you.
  274. >"I'm so sorry! Are you hurt? Did I crush you? Is your arm OK?! Oh no, I'm such a terrible frie-"
  275. >You rest a finger on her firm, soft lips.
  276. "It's fine. I actually wanted to do this for a long time."
  277. >Retract your finger from her mouth and giver her the hug back.
  278. >You do not make it as powerful as her's, but not too loose.
  279. >It's just perfect.
  280. >She even starts to nuzzle your neck with her head.
  281. >Dainty, benevolent, and somewhat fussy.
  282. >What a girl.
  283. >"Let me get ready for bed, if you're fine on leaving me to do it."
  284. >She then runs off and heads up stairs.
  285. >You stay put and make sure everything is in your backpack and in the right order.
  286. >It's still a school night, so you may as well get whatever you've had and organize for Hell.
  287. >Still, it's nicer than what was back home.
  288. >This won't be too bad.
  289. >Especially with a friend to rely on, like Fluttershy.
  290. >Along with a few kids back at school, such as Flash and that group of girls.
  291. >That reminds you, may as well and check your phone.
  292. >Check and see that it was still left on vibrate.
  293. >Wow... and didn't even feel it once.
  294. >There was a lot of physical movement, so why wouldn't you?
  295. >Look at the screen and see a few messages.
  296. >Pinkie Pie: "Have fun w/ ur friend!" "Ya wanna hang out this Sat. w/ me & the gals?"
  297. >Applejack: "You're a nice guy, sorry for the roughing from Rainbow, she's that "Go to" attitude.
  298. >Rarity: "I look forward to our next gathering."
  299. >But Dash was different from all the others.
  300. >Rainbow Dash: "Hey, sorry for the hard time earlier 2day, I acted like that to try and blend in with the rest of the school. Just to try and blend in. Turns out,k I just needed this small group, rather than the entire school to be with me. Can't wait to hang out with you again soon! You up for Sat?"
  301. >And theres one from Dad.
  302. >"Hey there, sport! Sorry that we haven't talked to you in a while. You're mom just got a promotion, and I just been working overtime. Don't worry, we're still getting some rest. Sure hope that new school is much more welcoming than the last one. Have a goodnight, Anon. -Dad"
  303. >You text back:
  304. "Just fine. Finally made some friends. But there's this one, that I surely won't let go. She really is one to keep as a best friend for the next few years. She went through hard times. But now, it will all change. There will be a future and a better life for her, now that I'm here. Thank you again for letting me take care of myself in this new town, I will not let you guys down. -Anon"
  305.
  306. >The sound of footsteps are coming from the staircase.
  307. >Slide your phone back in your left pocket.
  308. >"So, what do you think?"
  309. >Fluttershy is swimming in a sweater a couple sizes too big, sleeping pants to match the sweaters colour & her hair loose and free.
  310. >You gawk at the nighttime version of Fluttershy.
  311. >"Umm... is it too much?"
  312. >Gibberish is only sounded from your barbaric mouth.
  313. >"M-maybe I s-should change into... something more-"
  314. "No, no. It's fine. It's more than fine. It's... beautiful."
  315. >She clutches her hands and rubs them together in an insecure manner.
  316. >"Come, I want to show you my bedroom."
  317. >Fluttershy slowly makes her way upstairs.
  318. >You drop your backpack and follow her.
  319. >A few of them creek, but continue on.
  320. >There's a window to your left and the walkway seems to continue on the right.
  321. >Start to enter the aisle and see three doors and a window, letting the setting suns rays peering in.
  322. >Two on the right and one on the left.
  323. >"It's right in here."
  324. >Walk down the hallway in a slow pace and catch up with her at the door.
  325. >She turns the doorknob.
  326. >It slowly clicks and the door opens to reveal her bedroom.
  327. >Seems to be more of a guest room, modified for some people who can't let go of the good days.
  328. >The room's not exactly spacious, but it's just enough to room a couple of people.
  329. "Wow... it's very calm and tranquil in here."
  330. >"Th-thank you."
  331. >You slowly wander in and stand by the bed.
  332. >This looks like the biggest, softest bed that you've ever encountered.
  333. >Normally, the bed's that you sleep in are twin size.
  334. >This one seems to be much bigger.
  335. >Queen, probably king size.
  336. >The last time you saw a bed like this was the one you were generated from.
  337. >Cringe a little from that thought.
  338. >But, this is a nice room.
  339. >Even if you prefer some posters from M-rated games and the Alternative-Rock bands.
  340. >In this room, you can feel more stable.
  341. >"So, what should we do? We have a few more hours until we should sleep."
  342. >Seeing that this is a house in the woods, there's not much to ask on if there's some television or a laptop laying around here.
  343. "What do you normally do to pass the time?"
  344. >The sagging sleeves slide over her arms as she playfully rubs them.
  345. >"Well... I-I have some games, d-do you want to play?"
  346. >Let's see what she has.
  347. "Sure. What do you have?"
  348. >She goes on her knees and reaches under her bed to pull out a few puzzles and board games and a deck of cards.
  349. >You open up a puzzle box worth of 250 pieces and see no scattered pieces.
  350. >Instead, it's all aligned and connected to form the perfect picture indicated on the box.
  351. >Close it and open up another puzzle box, this one has much more, a total of 500.
  352. >Open it up and see the same result.
  353. >Everything is in place.
  354. >There's something about this girls free time that you're starting to catch.
  355. >Instead, you close this one, and grab an 1000 piece puzzle of a city.
  356. >What's inside is a halfway done puzzle.
  357. >"I just r-recently got that one."
  358. "Well, you want some help to finish this one?"
  359. >The smile she had was just too much that you've ever seen on her.
  360. >"YES! I mean, OK."
  361. >For roughly 2 hours, the both of you grasp hands a couple of times to get the piece each of you wanted to place.
  362. >This was too common to happen, more than a set of car crashes in a freeway.
  363. >Nevertheless; it was completed.
  364. >Fluttershy was extra cautious of putting it back in, to not let a single bit fall out.
  365. >And slipped to top part of the box back into place, like it was never opened.
  366. "I must say, that was fun."
  367. >As she slips the puzzle boxes back in, a tint rosey red appears on her face.
  368. >"It... really was nice. What should we do now?"
  369. >Look at what's left on the floor.
  370. >There's a few board games and the deck of cards.
  371. >Look through them and see what she has.
  372. >Mainly, they're cooperative games.
  373. >Connect 4, Chutes and Ladders, Twister, Scramble, and something at the bottom.
  374. >"This one's my favorite."
  375. >She moves a few of the games aside to reveal the one buried in them.
  376. >It's a board game. "Timberland Wanderers."
  377. >Fluttershy grabs one side and tries to slide it open.
  378. >You grab another, and lift it up.
  379. >The cover comes off and shows of a standard board with trails.
  380. >Looks like CandyLand, just more themed at the woods.
  381. >It starts off from the outside of the forest, and ends at the opposite side.
  382. >There's the standard: "Stuck in mud, lose a turn." and "Lost, back 2 spaces."
  383. >Can't have a board game without some obstacles, now can you?
  384. >One of the pieces is a butterfly.
  385. >There's a few more, but they're all in separate bags that haven't been opened.
  386. >They have a bit of dust around the folds holding it.
  387. >The others are: a squirrel, raccoon, porcupine and a rabbit.
  388. >"Go ahead, pick a cute animal."
  389. >You think about getting something badass, like the porcupine having the spikes coated everywhere.
  390. >Or maybe the raccoon, for having that robbers mask, it also reminds you of that one game.
  391. >Instead, without even noticing, you grab the rabbit out of the assortment of characters.
  392. >"Oh! That's a cute one! I actually was thinking of owning one someday, but I'm not sure."
  393. >Open up the package without any struggle.
  394. "What's stopping you from owning one?"
  395. >"I'm... just having some trouble on what to do with him. I'm not sure if my guardian will appreciate it, and what's worse, is that I'll be at school. I just don't want to leave him here."
  396. >That does sound like some trouble, but you may have an idea that could work.
  397. "This might be a little hard to do, but you could put him in your backpack. That way, he can be with you at all times."
  398. >Such eyes on Fluttershy's face never went so immense before.
  399. >"That... that sounds like a great idea! Thank you! But... what if my guardian refuses to let me have one?"
  400. >Huh... she's got a point.
  401. >Maybe having an animal companion wouldn't be too bad if thing's go downhill.
  402. "What if I took care of him."
  403. >"You're willing to do that!?"
  404. "Anything for a friend of mine."
  405. >Her eyes dim a little, so does her smile.
  406. >"Oh... OK. Well, thank you very much. You're really making my life easier."
  407. "It's not a problem, that's what pals do."
  408. >She flinches a little.
  409. >Huh, maybe she's sitting on a missing dice or a lost puzzle piece?
  410. >"Yeah... let's start playing."
  411. "Sounds good."
  412.
  413. >You lost, again.
  414. >She has to be cheating.
  415. >But with what? Rigged dice?
  416. >This is the third game now, and Fluttershy has beaten you in all of them.
  417. >If only this was a video game console, the odds would be in your favor.
  418. >Suck it up, and admit your defeat.
  419. "Wow, you're extremely good at this game."
  420. >Her fingers fiddle her sweater.
  421. >"Just, some practice... maybe a lot."
  422. >Oh no, she's starting to go down.
  423. >Time to move the subject.
  424. "I'm surprised that she bought all of these for you."
  425. >Fluttershy's smile fades away into a sad frown.
  426. >Shit, what did you say?
  427. "Hey, what's wrong?"
  428. >Hesitation is all that she answers, but then she exhales heavily.
  429. >"I should... tell you something."
  430.
  431. >She tells that the owner of this house has a medical condition that prevents her from obtaining her own child.
  432. >It was only a matter of time that she would adopt one.
  433. >That's where Fluttershy's absence at the orphange came into play at the right time.
  434. >Just as Fluttershy was taken into new arms, she noticed some baby clothes in the cabinet of her room.
  435. >The owner crabbed armfulls of the clothing and thrw it into the master bedroom.
  436. >That was the only time Flutters saw her protector cry.
  437.
  438. >After the story, you and Fluttershy just stare at the board game.
  439. "Hey, you have a home now. Life is better here, even before I arrived. Don't let that get to you."
  440. >You see her mouth curve a little.
  441. "Is that a smile, I see?"
  442. >Fluttershy giggles like...
  443. >She's already a little girl, what else?
  444. >"OK, you've got me."
  445. >A yawn leaves your body.
  446. >"Do you... *yawn* want to get some rest?"
  447. >Look at the clock of her bed stand.
  448. >It's past nine-thirty.
  449. "Yeah, that's probably best. It's a school night, and we're going to need a lot of energy for the last school day of the week."
  450. >"Good idea. I'll be right back, I need to head for the bathroom."
  451. "Go ahead, take your time."
  452. >She heads off, and exits the room.
  453. >Spot the window in front of you.
  454. >You get up, and walk around the board game.
  455. >Stand near the window and open it.
  456. >Look out to the barely visible pearl white moon in the horizon.
  457. >Lay on the left side of your body to the wall.
  458. >Thoughts of mom and dad back home start to flow through you.
  459. >If they're fine, what they're doing right now, and if they miss you.
  460. >Then you realize Fluttershy's parents.
  461. >A father who never got the chance to see his own daughter and a mother who surrenders her daughter to the government.
  462. >Thank goodness you have parents that are alive, and they care about you.
  463. >Even if they show you their love through sentimental items.
  464. >They never had the time to have some quality time with you.
  465. >At least they cared about you.
  466. >Who knows about the father if he managed to stay alive.
  467. >Possibly her life wouldn't be this way.
  468. >Or worse... it was for the better.
  469. >Something lays on the right of your shoulder.
  470. >"Hey."
  471. >Fluttershy slowly peers from the right side.
  472. "Oh, hi."
  473. >She leaves her hand on your shoulder, and you choose to ignore it.
  474. >"Is everything alright?"
  475. "Yup, just... just thinking that's all."
  476. >"Thinking about what?"
  477. "Just... my parents."
  478. >Her mouth agapes a little, but then closes it.
  479. >Are they... alright?"
  480. "Yeah... they're working... nonstop. I just, hope things work out."
  481. >She nuzzles her head against the upper part of your arm.
  482. >"They're fine. And trust me, they still love you."
  483. "I guess..."
  484. >Both of you just stare at outside for another minute.
  485. >Fluttershy then breaks the silence.
  486. >"We probably should clean up the mess we've made."
  487. >Turn to her, and see that she's looking at the board game.
  488. "Oh, right. I'll help."
  489. >She goes around and starts to place her knees to the ground.
  490. >You bend over-
  491. >"OW!"
  492. "Ow!"
  493. >Fall back and land your ass on the wooden floor.
  494. >Rub the top of your head and look over to Flutters.
  495. >She is doing the same to her head.
  496. "I'm so sorry! I was-"
  497. >"No, no! It's fine."
  498. "It's mu fault, I should have let you go first."
  499. >"Don't worry, a good night's rest will give it a heal by the morning."
  500. >You start to grab the board and fold it up.
  501. >"W-wait, let me fold it."
  502. >Look at the board and see that you're flipped it in a different pattern.
  503. "Whoops. Here."
  504. >Hand over the board and see her flip it once with a flick of her wrist.
  505. >You're stunned at the performance she gave off.
  506. >"Is everything fine? Did I show off?"
  507. "Everything's fine. You just never stop amazing me, Flutters."
  508. >"Oh, stop. It's nothing."
  509. >She lowers the board and attempts to slide it in the box.
  510. >Notice that it's caught at the corner and prevents it from slipping down.
  511. "I'll get a side."
  512. >Grab the side of the board and slide it down at the same rate as her.
  513. >Fits like a glove.
  514. >Set everything else inside: the playing pieces, dice, "Fate" cards and rule book.
  515. >The both of you do the same thing with the lid of the box.
  516. >She slides the box under the bed and stands up.
  517. >You do the same and start to head out the room.
  518. >"W-where are you going?"
  519. >Turn around and see her sitting on the bed.
  520. "Oh, I thought that I could sleep on the couch or something."
  521. >"Come now, you can sleep with me."
  522. >Wait, what?
  523. "Fluttershy, are you sure?"
  524. >"More than ever."
  525. >It's an offer.
  526. >A genuine one, as well.
  527. >But, it's too much to handle.
  528. >She's a friend, you want to protect her.
  529. >This is just too much.
  530. "Can't I just sleep on the floor?"
  531. >"Don't be silly. There's more than enough room on this bed."
  532. >Can't argue on this one.
  533. "But... I can't sleep in my street clothes. I don't want to give out germs from the outside."
  534. >"Well..." She raises the bed cover high enough that you can only see her eyes, "You could... take them off."
  535. >There is no way she's be serious.
  536. >In the same bed is one thing, but being stripped?
  537. >Making sure about her safety is one thing... but getting "comfortable" is another.
  538. >And you've just met her.
  539. >This day is just beyond out of the ordinary.
  540. >But... as long that she's happy, it's worth it.
  541. "Alright Flutters, I'll..."
  542. >Her vest eyes stare into your very soul.
  543. >She's on the edge of your answer.
  544. "I'll sleep with you."
  545. >She lets go of the sheets and squee's cuter than a rubber duck.
  546. "But I'm only taking off my shirt, OK?"
  547. >She nods, like a damaged bobble head.
  548. >You take off your shirt, and set it on the couch in front of her bed.
  549. >Look back up and see Fluttershy's mouth agape and overwhelmed at you're upper nudity.
  550. "What?"
  551. >"It's nothing, nothing. Just, rest, please. It's going to be a looong day tomorrow."
  552. >Ain't that the truth.
  553. >Take off your shoes and socks and set them next to the foot of the bed.
  554. >Climb in and take your side.
  555. >Roll to the right and see Fluttershy, staring at you with a grin on her face.
  556. "Happy?"
  557. >"S-so much."
  558. >Shift back to stair at the ceiling.
  559. >"I just wanted to let you know that... I feel completely safe with you here. The kids at the orphanage where ruthless and harsh. With you... I feel protected and relaxed. No one ever had the time to be with me for anything."
  560. >A warming feeling slowly rises inside you.
  561. "Anything... for you."
  562. >Slowly close your eyes and head into sleep.
  563. >Sounds of the sheets move around and something very hushed is sounded.
  564. >What happens next, is that you must've thought from a long, and hard day.
  565. >"Goodnight... Romeo~."
  566. "Hmm?"
  567. >"N-nothing."
