macbetha, i have never read any works by you before stumbling on EWOATT while looking for makoharu fanfics to read in the car. however, i would like to thank you for all the work that you've done previously until this moment with your writing, because in my whole life i have found exactly three stories on ao3 that have resonated with me to my deepest core, and yours became one of them after finishing the last chapter at 5 am in my bed, sniffling over my phone screen. thank you.
thank you. thank you so much for writing this beast-and-yet-masterpiece of a story, because you singlehandedly made me love the free! franchise again. your work gripped me with the very first chapter, and it took me almost 6 tries to just finish haru's backstory alone. i think when i finished chapter 1 i was left shuddering as if i had gone through a fucking frozen lake. i was brought back to the days of reading lord of the flies, over and over, and rekindling myself with the dark, violent, hate-filled chasms that have been dispersed throughout me over my life.

but i truly do think that you managed to craft a story that is deserving of respect from any sort of literary critic. your world building was absolutely phenomenal, you managed to concoct Iwatobi into a inspiring mess of a city, with its characters displaying so much growth and connecting with each other on such internal levels. it almost felt like i was really watching sousuke and rin kissing in the alley alone after the chase, or makoto and haru laying on each other on the sidewalk during Halloween. that takes talent, and i appreciate the effort you exude in all your words to make that happen.
there's a lot more i could say about EWOATT, but in all honesty, you're the author and you're probably well aware of what i would love to point out. it would just become redundant imo
i would like to say though, that the time i spent reading this fic (in class, in my bed late at night, procrastination on HW LOL) was heart-clenching, both in fear and love. it will definitely be getting a reread when i finish my backburner fics, and i think ill enjoy it with a different eye but just as much the next time around.

(also when is death of a bachelor getting updated i am CRYIG so hard over the headcanons ive made up in my head for the things rin and sousuke would be doing when they finally meet and fall in love with each other)
