On December 11, 2552, the Fleet of Retribution arrived at the Ark and immediately assaulted the Jiralhanae forces stationed above the installation - the last major vestige of the Covenant Navy. Although the Jiralhanae greatly outnumbered the Sangheili, they were outmatched in their knowledge of naval warfare, and Retribution made short work of them.
