Epilogue

At the end of the adventure, William, Caski, Annie, Joseph, and Thomas were knighted by the Duchess and given plots of land with which to do as they please.

Epilogue:

William politely declined the land, saying that his work as a ranger meant he could not settle. Besides, he had been away from the university for some time now, and his colleagues would be eager to see his findings. He returned to his hometown up north and shared his findings with the university; his notes on how not to get eaten by a chimera were especially helpful. He still does field research, specializing in tracking monsters to study their diets and lifestyles. Rodney remains William's faithful companion, now and forever... or at least until he runs out of carrots.
