  1. Brennen Astraea nodded to the other female, switching out his wooden blade for an iron one out of respect for Teresa and advanced, he had been warned of her use of fire in her fighting style. He didn't plan to let that fade to the back of his mind. He'd have to be very careful in the future. He would advance upon the female swordsmen. - 1
  2.
  3. The boy's basic speed was that of an untrained warrior, still a bit faster than one without the blessings he took advantage of, but basic nonetheless. Should the distance have been closed, a small strike would be made for the female's chest. He used the flat of his blade, just like she had interred she would be doing, so no real harm would come from contact base low-end bruising if the strike we're to hit.- 2
  4.
  5. Brennen Astraea blinked as the female stepped aside, he hadn't really been surprised by that. The male's body shifted slightly before using his shield to block the incoming strike, absorbing the blow upon its surface, before nodded and stepping forward into a sudden jab towards her right shoulder. -3
  6.
  7. "thank you for the advice!" -
  8.
  9. Brennen Astraea kept himself on the defensive, as the agile warrior threw herself backward, into an acrobat's tumble, that shifted into a savage forward piercing strike. The male didn't seem all too shocked, and if anything, he held a smile upon his face as he shifted with her movements. -4
  10.
  11. Once more he brought his shield to bear, also taking note of the damage developing upon its surface. "You are quite talented!" He gave the female words of praise before once more stepping forward, attempting to shove the blade arm off to the right with a shift of his shield, and then swinging his own blade towards her center mass. - 5
  12.
  13. Brennen Astraea watched his opponent some more before she once more effortlessly dodged the incoming strike to her chest. He had thought he mentioned being untrained past the use of the Lion stance, but he'd take her new advice to heart. He would forgo his shield from this point for the time being. He didn't want to have the only shield he owned break in his first spar. -6
  14.
  15. The first of three strikes collided with his frame and didn't do much past earn a grimace. He held himself well until the second strike came. A sizable welt from the first, followed by a clear bruise from the second and a grunt of pain. The exhale earning a soft blush of embarrassment. Then the male shifted his footwork to avoid the incoming blow that finished up the combination strike of the three clover technique. -7
  16.
  17. He sighed softly at his failure to not cry out but would continue moving forward. He didn't aim to back down from training when it was offered. He was eager to see himself progress, even if in small moments. His movements shifted as he moved back forward, aiming to swing his blade in a series of three swings. He would attempt to emulate the footwork and movements that Teresa had displayed when she had managed to land her blows upon the male's body. -8
  18.
  19. Brennen Astraea as the female dodge backward the male seems to finally click with what had been being displayed. He would shift into a much more refined if still new, stance for combat. Having adopted the knight's stance he would attempt to bring his own swords up to block the incoming blows, watching closely how it was performed and committing it to memory as well. -9
  20.
  21. The male would, even without the advent of the knight's stance, be able to block the blade, causing his weapon to take the brunt of the blunt blows. He would nod now in understanding as he advanced, shifting his body into a single strike aimed for her center of mass. The blow wasn't any faster than his earlier normal strikes had been, aside from any benefits his potential stance may provide. -10
  22.
  23. The next step came in the rapid application of an additional strike, aimed for the same place. This blow was just as fast as the first, and just as easy to avoid should the female remain as squirmy as she had since the fight began. A look of silent contemplation blossomed upon his own face. He seemed to have chosen a great partner for his initial spar. She had turned out to be a wellspring of information. -11
  24.
  25. Brennen Astraea blinked as his blade made contact with Teresa's own blade, and a look of genuine shock was placed upon his face. He hadn't realized he could hit quite that hard. He looked apologetic and backed off slightly. He intended to focus upon the incoming blow as much as he could. -12
  26.
  27. He focused himself intently and because of this, he only just barely was able to jump backward, taking a much lighter than it could have been welt due to his lack of awareness of the battlefield. He would sigh softly and shake his head clear of the damage he'd sustained and his own shock at his personal progression. -13
  28.
  29. He would move forward, swinging the blade as best as he was able, aiming to curve the blade at the last second, as he had been shown. The truth of the matter would be, it was easily seen through at this point of mastery and she knew to expect it. He fully expected her to make a clean dodge of the blow. -15
  30.
  31. Brennen Astraea Blinked at the sudden burst of speed displayed by the female he'd been sparring. He could hardly even keep up with her new striking speed, let alone defend against it.-16
  32.
  33. He accepted that he was going to be hit. He didn't show any fear, he didn't back away, instead, he did the only thing he could think of. He rose his blade to point outwards. She'd have his neck if she desired it, but she'd also potentially skewer herself upon his blade. -17
  34.
  35. Brennen Astraea Turned to watch the display and then nodded. This was something he'd figured he could do without the assistance of a technique, but the method in which it would be employed was far more useful than he'd originally anticipated. -18
  36.
  37. He moved forward, after rising from the sand and patting himself off, and positioned himself in such a manner as to allow for his imaginary enemy to rush forward. He dipped backward, into a pseudo break dancer's bend, and then shifted around, a small smile upon his face. "This. . This is going to be very useful, thank you very much!" - 19
  38.
  39. Brennen Astraea shifted into the lion's Stance, holding his old, semi-broken blade within both his hands. "I am ready to learn. I see your words as wise, my lady. Past the Lion stance, nothing, and as for the basic broadsword techniques, I have learned Imperial wrath, Three leaf clover, and finally Eagle Talon. " -20
  40.
  41. Brennen Astraea looks a little disappointed to not be learning anything from the lion's school, but he nods happily all the same. There is no moment where learning isn't helpful. He would shift from the Lion stance into that of the knights, taking his wooden shield upon his other arm. He wanted to get used to using both when he didn't fight with the Lion. -21
  42.
  43. He would look towards the female Astraea and watch her movements closely. Each motion is taken into consideration. He kept himself focused on this path as he began to internalized each movement and how his own body would react to these movements. He would move forward and then take a deep breath, intending to center himself for what he was about to do. -22
  44.
  45. He allowed his body to move through the simplistic technique, slowly. The first step bringing his sword into the air, holding it for just a moment before bringing the blade down in a savage arc. He shuddered slightly, as the weights upon his arms and legs that showed his dedication to his training even now.* -23
  46.
  47. Brennen Astraea as if she had known what had gotten him down, the female lioness changed her plans mid training session. She now opted to teach one of the mighty lion techniques. He smiled brightly and shifted once more, from the knight's stance to the lion once more, adopting a more ferocious stance. -24
  48.
  49. His shield replaced upon his back and his blade held in both hands. He would make himself ready. The first step done, he moved onto the next. This was a bit harder than he'd expected. This was his first time trying to utilize his essence in such a manner, so it wasn't something he was wholly experienced in. -25
  50.
  51. He would take a long few moments to understand what had been asked of him. He closed his eyes, listening to the meek voice of the sword he held. Slowly but surely the energy of his body and the sword would begin to intermingle. The power of the lion begging to blossom, albeit much slower than one might normally expect. -26
  52.
  53. He was still learning, and this was his first step out of his cub's den into the real world. He took a mighty step forward at this moment, his body straining under his weights. Finally, he allowed the blade, held in both hands to be unleashed and released forward, swinging outwards into the area and slamming into the ground, a faint afterimage of a lion forming in the wake of his swing, barely noticeable in his execution of the technique. -27
  54.
  55. "How was that?"
  56.
  57. Brennen Astraea nodded, clearly in his element here. He would continue his training with the other Astraea. His weighted body protesting but his willpower and desire for growth far exceeding any desire to slow down or stop his training now. He would retake the neutral stance. With his return to the basic stance of the Lion, he would endeavor to shift himself into the position to once more create the beast. -28
  58.
  59. Once more his inherent connection to the blade he held singing to him, talking to him, as meekly as a sword with no name or personality could. The energy upon his blade formed, though still slowly, much faster than his previous attempt. It only took minor coaxing from himself and the blade to create a harmonious union for the wielder and his blade. It rested upon the blade for a moment, filling the boy with courage before he once more moved forward. -29
  60.
  61. The blade would be swung, and all at once the energy would be unleashed, moving across the field, but at an almost shockingly slow pace. Though he could elicit the desired effect, the beast's breath would move slower than most trained wielders could passively run. A small blush upon his face formed. He looked to Altiria. -30
  62.
  63. "Did I do something wrong?"
