To work in a library you need to have a certain look about you, or at least that's what Rose thinks. And for him this look includes a tacky turtleneck and a pair of rectangular glasses (that are not prescriptional. it's window glass.). It's not that he doesn't like his job, he really does, he just sort of convinced himself that librarians have to look boring. Which he really does, with that tacky turtleneck and hair that's a sort of dull brown shade, it matches his eyes even. He's so incredibly plain that his own mother used to pick up the wrong child from school when he was a wee boy.
Apart from being an oh so dull librarian he's a fan of gardening and cats. Especially cats. He's been known to spam people's facebook feeds with disgustingly cute cat videos, needless to say he doesn't have that many facebook friends. He does have two cats though, both adopted from a shelter because that's the way to do it. They're old and grumpy, much like his mother.

When it comes to gardening it's a hobby he's somewhat more private about, since his preferred methods are somewhat... unconventional. Although it seems impossible he has in fact managed to make gardening unconventional, believe it or not. The thing is that these methods are a tad too unconventional and are in fact considered illegal in pretty much every country. You know, most people don't take kindly to it when you decide to cut up people and disembowel them to make room for your roses. It's just not a very nice thing to do.
Not that Rose cares though, he's making art. And you have to admit that it takes some dedication to pull that many murders off without getting caught, the media is in an uproar about the elusive serial killer known as "Briar Rose" and not once has anyone thought that; "Hey. That boring librarian guy who's face I can barely even remember probably kills people in his spare time."
It's really impossible to tell when you talk to him. Sometimes it's hard to even believe that he himself is aware of it. All in all it's pretty unsettling, if you know the truth that is. Which you don't and you never will. Unless he somehow tells you about it.
