- THE WORLD OF HEROES
- Overall, the setting of Trailblazers is lighthearted and chirpy. Its true that there are a great many dangers – usually in the form of superhumans (ultravirs) who have decided to ruin people's days – but these dangers are offset by the abundance of superheroes ready and willing to combat them. The civilian populace takes the existence of mad scientists, supertech, aliens, demons, parahumans, psychics, and everything else largely for granted without really giving it much thought, and get on with their day to day.
- THE SUPERNATURAL, THE ADVANCED, AND THE UNLIKELY
- The general tech level that the public of the first world enjoys in 2015 is slightly beyond what we have in the real world, but governments, militaries, the rich, and the lucky have access to much better toys. Teleporters, laser guns, cloaking devices, you name it.
- In the realm of the paranormal, various types of lycanthrope and ghost abound. Faeries, Vampires, and Demons are the “Big Three” - the ruling courts of the magical world, at least in name. It comes up much less often than you'd imagine. Human practitioners of magic are fairly rare, as magic must come with a price, and the price is usually hefty.
- The TB equivalent of mutants are psycholacerals – people who were born with latent psychic potential who have undergone psychological trauma. This “shatters” the psychic potential and causes it to manifest as a specific set of powers, usually related in some way to the trauma that caused them.
- Of course, every other origin story for superpowers you can imagine is present and accounted for somewhere, up to and including “Fuck man I dunno.”
- SAN DITKO
- As the world is protected by The Guardians, San Ditko city in sunny California is protected by the Trailblazers, personally appointed by Mayor Leighman after they topped the Allfather scheme. Using the front of Allfather Security as San Ditko's own anti-ultravir taskforce, Patriarch had planned to take over the city until the TB put a stop to him and put him behind bars.
- San Ditko is a coastal city and gets a decent amount of tourism in the summer. Though there's nothing especially wrong with it, it can't seem to shake the reputation as something of a whacky laughing-stock on the national stage, what with new ventures and attractions constantly being developed and then shut down due to super-powered shenanigans.
- Go Lions!
- THE TRAILBLAZERS
- TL;DR:
- The TB were caught in an inter-universal wave that put them in a twisted mirror universe or negaverse where Will was killed by NegaPhase then they came back and Allfather had taken over and then Superego joined the team then they banished Superego and beat Allfather and Voice got together with Insingem and Cav got together with Louise and Louise became Cav's sidekick and then some dick called Elijah who hates Voice showed up and declared himself the new big bad and then they went to bed on October 31st and woke up on February 14th with no memory of the interrim and there was some new team member called Susan.
- That about brings you up to speed.
