YEJIN is observant. since she is gazing at the air most of the time she happens to see things, whether they are secrets unraveling or a rough future ahead. she mostly stays quiet when she sees things like the leaders talking behind the others' backs since she doesn't want to cause more trouble than how much her mouth has already done for her. while growing up on JEJU-DO ISLAND she had learned to work independently, she prefers having time alone to collect her thoughts and not fool around while at work.  JEONG YEJIN was born on the island of JEJU-DO, SOUTH KOREA. she spent half of her childhood there, up until 11 YEARS OLD. while being on the island she spent her time wisely, she had routines, chores and her people to take care of. her legitamate father. who was the head of the town, divorced YEJIN's mother, CHAE WONSOOK, due to not being able to focus on his duties for the island, but YEJIN did not understand the meaning of their divorce until her mother remarried a man overseas, JEONG KWANGMIN, in SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA. her step-father was very wealthy, he had that much money that YERIN and her mother were able to move out of JEJU-DO and move to stay in with him at SEOUL city. YEJIN's education improved after moving but it was difficult to understand and be open about her stuggles during classes, her step-father hired her a private tutor instead to be home schooled; this leaded YEJIN to be kind of isolated from people though and the reason why she lacked social interaction skills. after a year of being home schooled, YEJIN wanted to try to go back to school. at 14 YEARS OLD, she got a lot closer to her step-father and she had no issues with knowing he isn't her legitimate father. one day, her father asked her to sing "GEE" by SNSD while videotaping her, he later posted it on his medias and YEJIN became known through all of her father's company workers. after that day, she started looking up songs and doing covers to post on her own medias; she was getting more attention because of that one video posted by her well-known father. at 16 YEARS OLD, she said through her SNS: "i don't want to keep making covers, i want to create me own songs." a lot of companies opened up to her, but she was too overwhelmed and did not reply to any. her mother, however, knew she loved to sing so she messaged one of the companies, SM ENT. for an open audition and that's how it all began.
