  2. well, we've agreed not to give you direct access. The offer to send you a copy of the gamemode files we're running is still there. If you can point me to some documentation / contract that was signed regarding the rights / IP of the gamemode then it might change my mind. However at the current moment the gamemode is in equal shared rights between you and the EPG management/owners. This means I have no problem giving you a copy of the gamemode, but I am in no way obliged to give you access to my server.

  5. So just let me know what card you wanna play. If it's the "abuse all my backdoors and shut down the gamemode" one, then let me know as I'll just take the server offline and wait for our new gamemode to be ready.

  8. having my files, especially compiled code, doesn't make you the owner of those files
  9. so I'd like them to be removed
  10.
  11. LopSided - Today at 4:03 PM
  12. Never claimed I was the owner of the code or files
  13. And sure, I'll happily nuke the gamemode from my system once the new one is completed. However as I've stated, the gamemode is property of the clan/community and is therefore in shared rights between you and us, so you can't just tell us to remove the files. It doesn't work that way
  14. So if you still want me to send you those files, I'll be happy to do so
  15.
  16. gdx - Today at 4:06 PM
  17. wrong, I'm the rightful owner of the software - and you're hosting it without my consent
  18. may I remind you EPG isn't a business
  19.
  20. LopSided - Today at 4:07 PM
  21. I'm fairly certain you don't quite understand how this kinda stuff works.
  22.
  23. gdx - Today at 4:07 PM
  24. and never was I a worker of EPG
  25.
  26. LopSided - Today at 4:10 PM
  27. I'll ask you again to point to any contract between yourself and EPG, which states that whilst contributing to the community (by supplying the gamemode), that you would keep full IP rights to said code.
  28. Being a business has nothing to do with it.
  29.
  30. gdx - Today at 4:10 PM
  31. there is no contract, but I can prove I was the one who coded the gamemode(edited)
  32.
  33. LopSided - Today at 4:11 PM
  34. May I also remind you that you had other contributor(s), so I assume you also had written agreements / contracts with them regarding their contributions?
  35. (since you are getting all serious with ownership and rights, I'd say this is something you would of been very keen to make sure was in place)
  36.
  37. gdx - Today at 4:11 PM
  38. patryk's contribuitions were always a minority
  39.
  40. LopSided - Today at 4:12 PM
  41. Proving you coded the gamemode doesn't change the situation, at all
  42.
  43. gdx - Today at 4:12 PM
  44. sure does,
  45.
  46. LopSided - Today at 4:15 PM
  47. Because you decided not to make a specific agreement for the terms of the gamemode (that it would only be your property, subject to the withdrawal of rights at your discretion upon completion) - you therefore made the gamemode property of the server/clan/community. Therefore the gamemode belongs, and is property, to the clan. This means we have shared rights of gamemode
  48. Or at least, you still haven't provided that agreement to me.
  49. So since we're in shared rights, it's up to us to make an agreement (running to MTA staff won't do anything, they will not intefere with this)
  50. What I'm putting forward is that I can send you a copy of the gamemode we're running on the server so you can have piece of mind that it's not been modified, and that we agree to fully remove all the gamemode code from our server upon completion of our new gamemode.
