Lamia

Lamias are a race of Fey with the upper body of a human and the lower body of a serpent. Their serpentine side varies in appearance, but generally mimics a snake in accordance to their type or personality.

Lamias come in two variants; vipers and pythons.

First we'll talk about the pythons. These Lamias have a realllly long lower body, and are surprisingly fast with manipulating it so that they can quickly snatch up their targets or prey.

Vipers are venomous Lamias that have two large fangs that are capable of injecting a potent venom, some have actually learned how to spit this venom to blind their victims. Venomous Lamias tend to have unique patterns on their lower body, and sometimes even have a rattle at the end of their tail. While vipers are capable of snatching up smaller targets with their tails, they aren't nearly as long as pythons, and often choose to use powerful magic as opposed to front line fighting.

Lamias were once a very common race that lived in actual communities throughout the Feywild. However, they were set upon by the supremacist race known as the Izzat. The ensuing war slaughtered the Lamia by the thousands; they just couldn't keep up with the unholy war machines and superior equipment that the Izzat had. By the time the Izzat were driven out of the Feywild, it was already too late. More than three fourths of the Lamia population were erased from the map. Only thing keeping them from extinction is their insanely long lifespan, as well as the fact that the Feywild will very rarely create Lamias straight out of thin air. Even then, Lamias born this way often die before maturity due to their ignorance.

Lamias prefer to go at it alone and sometimes die before even settling down into a family. Actual Lamia families live secluded from outside races, so the only real connection they get is with each other, and as a result, familial ties are very strong to them. There is no more Lamia society, as most are wandering nomads or mercenaries, choosing to travel the land to find ways to make ends meet.

Communities found on Erilen see the Lamia as very reliable employees to get the job done. However they aren't exactly known world wide, and as a result are sometimes mistaken as demons.

Age: The potential lifespan is incredibly long. So long that most scholars debate on how long they can even live up to; some say 2000, many say 3000. A LOT Of Lamias die before hitting 100.

Religious Views: Most Lamias don't really see the gods as gods and actually see them as people. This is due to the fact they can literally meet Sylvannas or Tarnathwen in person with relative ease.
