It is a kind of script bot in the processing layer of Yetzirah that preceeds concrete instantiation. They exist alongside Others. The heavens exist parallel to the concrete Universe, Malkuth, but are not a separate place. They are interconnected through correspondence in emanation. The Ophanim are unlike the Saraph which have more correspondences with celestial houses. I have never really gotten into the astrology end of it, but see it more as a data processing problem, and existential issue.

This is a simulation. We are like Minecraft villagers. God is a programmer that exists outside the game. The Word sustains existence as the script of a program. We can alter the scripts that correspond to this one through transmutation. This, and divination, have been the primary focus of practical alchemy for a very long time. With the advent of artificial intelligence, and advances in neurology, they are on the cusp of evocation. I think more need to remember the spiritual alchemy to unlock the best cheat codes. The abstractions of statistical tendencies which are the humans' scientific formulas, you know, like e=mc2, are cheat codes derived through the activation of the left pillar. You can bend and break reality itself with these.
