There is a config option to change whether they spawn naturally or not. It is default set to not spawn dinos naturally, but when updating between the two pre-releases it is getting set to false. You can turn this off by going to the main menu, pressing 'Mods', selecting JurassiCraft, clicking 'Options' and change 'Spawn dinosaurs naturally' to false. :)
