  69.
  70. False Sarcophagus:
  71. "NOT LIKE IT IS OF NECESSITY. TARGETS ARE SURE TO HAVE DROWNED BY NOW."
  72.
  73. Mistral:
  74. 6 "Maybe that weakened it just enough..." Mistral grabs one of her INCREDIBLY LIMITED BOMBS, ONLY GET THREE OF THESE SHITS, and hurls it at the sarcophagus!

  112.
  113. False Sarcophagus:
  114. Also by this point the water flow seemed to have quieted down....
  115.
  116. Mistral:
  117. "And now I'll be in its line of sight... better to be safe than count on him fighting his way out." 11 whatever have another

  134. False Sarcophagus:
  135. The False Sarcophagus falls upon its side and then crumbles into pieces.
  136.
  137. Mistral:
  138. "Well, it's a good thing 'ride the sarcophagus' didn't need to pan out as a backup plan."
  139.
  140. Dharc:
  141. Dharc crawls out of the rubble/water and stands up, "Huh. What impeccable timing for this thing to fall apart."
  142.
  143. Dharc:
  144. "Ten thousand years and it chooses NOW to crumple!"
  145.
  146. False Sarcophagus:
  147. getting acided to death tends to do that.
  148. Tokens dropped onto map 'Tomb of Akhentepi' by player Thrice (Player)
  149.
  150. Mistral:
  151. "Then the acid's doing its job. I do hope this doesn't count as desecration."
  152.
  153. Dharc The Dark Charmer:
  154. i'd use this but i odn't know what gender it is meant to be
  155.
  156. False Sarcophagus:
  157. Anyway, the water begins to drain through a "rubble drain" of loose gravel that seems to have been built underneath the room. Soon you hear a clicking sound, implying that the locking bars have now retracted.
  158. Dharc The Dark Charmer:
  159. "Wait, is that all? That thing seemed severely disappointed that we hadn't drowned yet...do you think this trap stopped working a couple millennia ago?"
  160.
  161. Dharc:
  162. m
  163.
  164. Mistral:
  165. "That, or for some reason the water pouring in is tied to the sarcophagus's life systems. Just seems like poor design to me, I'd have the water keep coming."
  166.
  167. Mistral:
  168. "Make doubly certain any unwanted intruders perish."
  169.
  170. Mistral:
  171. Gonna just take a look at that trap tho
  172.
  173. Mistral:
  174. 25 Trapfinding @ the patch where Dharc had stepped on
  175.
  176. Dharc:
  177. "Be a weird way to go about things. But now that we're free...should we take the obvious route?"
  178.
  179. Mistral:
  180. "Let's. Do try not to trigger a swarm of scorpions or what have you next time."
  181.
  182. False Sarcophagus:
  183. Nothing else really happens. It's obvious by this point that this trap has been activated. And it doesn't look like there's anything reactivating it anytime soon either....shit's busted.
  184.
  185. Mistral:
  186. gud
  187.
  188. Mistral:
  189. time to door the SHIT outta these doors
  190.
  191. Mistral:
  192. ONE
  193.
  194. Mistral:
  195. TWO
  196.
  197. False Sarcophagus:
  198. PAST THOSE DOORS LIE
  199.
  200. Mistral:
  201. 0 DOOOOOR
  202.
  203. Dharc:
  204. "Are you sure THIS isn't a trap?"
  205.
  206. False Sarcophagus:
  207. The chamber where all the water was, previously. It seems to be empty now.
  208.
  209. Mistral:
  210. datt door
  211. You have disconnected.
  212. Server started; please wait for map to refresh.
  213. Agi has connected.
  214. Thrice has connected.
  215.
  216. Dharc:
  217. "So...not a trap, but a dead end. Any more ideas? This can't be it...they wouldn't have a fake coffin without a real one somewhere."
  218.
  219. Mistral:
  220. "...well I can't say that wasn't a possibility. Disappointing though. Maybe there's a secret passage of some sort?"
  221. * Agi rolls secretly to you: « 1d20+8 = 14 + 8 = 22 » GONNA PERCEP => Invalid expression: « 1d20+8 = 14 + 8 = 22 » GONNA PERCEP.
  222.
  223. Mistral:
  224. "That other dead end may be worth investigating if nothing turns up here."
  225.
  226. Dharc:
  227. "Probably, somewhere. But it might not be in here."
  228. tirkaroKujo:
  229. This chamber is in fact one of the most squeaky clean chambers in the tomb. However, there's a pretty jarring crack in the corner, which is quite an oversight when it comes to a chamber intended to hold water.
  230.
  231. Mistral:
  232. (LOOK IN CRACK)
  233. tirkaroKujo:
  234. The crack is way too small for you to properly look in. It just appears to be nothing but a thin strip of blackness.
  235.
  236. Mistral:
  237. (CURSE THE BLACKNESS)
  238.
  239. Mistral:
  240. Mistral places her ear against the wall and knocks.
  241.
  242. Dharc:
  243. "I'm going to take a look around this room, see if there's, like, a switch on one of these pedestals or statues, or something."
  244. tirkaroKujo:
  245. @Mistral you hear the scuttering of some of the bugs roaming this tomb
  246.
  247. Dharc:
  248. « 20+2 = 20 + 2 = 22 »
  249.
  250. Mistral:
  251. « 20+4+3+1+1 = 20 + 4 + 3 + 1 + 1 = 29 »
  252. tirkaroKujo:
  253. @Dharc After constant eons of searching, you somehow manage to only just notice there's actually two doors on the east and west of this room.
  254. tirkaroKujo:
  255. I'm not sure why they're a DC20 perception check I guess they're just really well hidden
  256.
  257. Dharc:
  258. "Hey, good news! We're idiots! There are more doors in here.
  259.
  260. Dharc:
  261. "
  262.
  263. Mistral:
  264. "More doors? Why am I not surprised?"
  265.
  266. Dharc:
  267. "How'd we not notice these...anyway! Which ones?"
  268.
  269. Mistral:
  270. "I'm not particular this time around. Lead the way, I need to make some preparations."
  271. tirkaroKujo:
  272. And so you go through all these doors or something, the hallway being quite an unremarkable place.
  273. tirkaroKujo:
  274. This room now holds several nearly arrayed chests, boxes, and urns. The dust of centuries covers every surface. The only exit seems to be the set of stone double doors you came in from....
  275.
  276. Mistral:
  277. "The air is getting awfully stale.. how far down do you think we are?"
  278.
  279. Mistral:
  280. well you know the fuckin drill
  281. * Agi rolls secretly to you: « 1d20+4+3+1+1+1 = 8 + 4 + 3 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 18 » « 1d20+4+3+1+1+1 = 2 + 4 + 3 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 12 » « 1d20+4+3+1+1+1 = 8 + 4 + 3 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 18 » trapfinding as appropriate => Invalid expression: « 1d20+4+3+1+1+1 = 8 + 4 + 3 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 18 » « 1d20+4+3+1+1+1 = 2 + 4 + 3 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 12 » « 1d20+4+3+1+1+1 = 8 + 4 + 3 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 18 » trapfinding as appropriate.
  282. tirkaroKujo:
  283. you don't seem to find any traps
  284.
  285. Dharc:
  286. "Hah! I told you there was more to this place. With all these urns and boxes, we'll be rich! If they contain anything useful."
  287.
  288. Mistral:
  289. "There'll be sure to be history buffs and map collectors coming to town in the next few days... everything in here could be a priceless treasure to someone." but what IS in here tho
  290.
  291. Mistral:
  292. *did not find traps = there are no traps*
  293. tirkaroKujo:
  294. You search around for goodies. None of the chests and boxes are locked, as the items within them were the post personal to Akhentepi, and his soul might want to have immediate access to them. Which is what you can only assume after coming across what appears to be his old lucky undergarments. Quite massive, they are.
  295.
  296. Dharc:
  297. "Wow, for building such a shitty coffin, these guys could sure make underwear last the test of time."
  298.
  299. Mistral:
  300. "Quite..." Mistral holds the briefs at end with a dagger, moving them to the side while exploring the rest of the box.
  301. tirkaroKujo:
  302. Most of the goods in the chests, such as once fine clothing and sealed jars of food, no longer have any value after the passage of centuries, but among the spoiled and ruined goods are several salvagable items of value, includng two vials, a master class longbow, 10 rather cold-feeling arrows, a gold scarab clasp, and what you can tell is an onyx and silver Pharasma holy symbol, along with a silver hand mirror and a wax-sealed clay urn.
  303.
  304. Mistral:
  305. « 1d20+3+1+2+1+1 = 14 + 3 + 1 + 2 + 1 + 1 = 22 » « 1d20+3+1+2+1+1 = 6 + 3 + 1 + 2 + 1 + 1 = 14 » "Now, what do we have here?" She holds the vials up for close inspection.
  306.
  307. Mistral:
  308. sure I guess I'm taking 10.
  309. tirkaroKujo:
  310. They both seem to contain the same materials. These vials are Silversheen, an alchemy material. Blades made of this special material count as alchemical silver weapons and are immune to rust, including that of rust monsters, the rusting grasp spell, and so on.
  311. tirkaroKujo:
  312. scatch that
  313. tirkaroKujo:
  314. This shimmering paste-like substance can be applied to a weapon as a standard action. It gives the weapon the properties of alchemical silver for 1 hour, replacing the properties of any other special material it might have. One vial coats a single melee weapon or 20 units of ammunition.
  315.
  316. Mistral:
  317. "Use either of these on your blade, it'll protect it from rust - even magical rust. Situational, but you'll be glad you have it when the situation comes up."
  318.
  319. Mistral:
  320. "Also handy against werewolves. I know we've ran into several of those so far."
  321.
  322. Mistral:
  323. What's in the urn tho
  324.
  325. Mistral:
  326. dagger time
  327.
  328. Dharc:
  329. "Oh, really? I could find a use for that, somehow!" In the meantime, Dharc grabs the arrows, looking to see if they're usable, but immediately drops them, "Ow! Damn it! I was not prepared for that at all..."
  330. tirkaroKujo:
  331. After opening up the urn, it seems to be filled with nothing but nard. I have no idea what nard is, but it sure is fun to say. Nard nard nard nard.
  332.
  333. Mistral:
  334. "Did you just stab yourself with an arrow?"
  335.
  336. Mistral:
  337. "Oh look. Nard."
  338.
  339. Dharc:
  340. He picks them up, this time by the fletching, "I'll have to be careful with these...they're cold iron."
  341.
  342. Dharc:
  343. "What'd you just call me?"
  344.
  345. Mistral:
  346. "I haven't the slightest idea."
  347.
  348. Mistral:
  349. Nard (n): A scented oil derived from flowering plants.
  350.
  351. Mistral:
  352. We're defining it right fucking here.
  353.
  354. Mistral:
  355. "Did you want to know what Akhentepi smelled like? Now's your chance."
  356.
  357. Mistral:
  358. "This kept amazingly well."
  359.
  360. Mistral:
  361. "To be honest, I was expecting a lung."
  362.
  363. Dharc:
  364. "I expected him to smell less like flowers, if I'm being honest." Dharc grabs the longbow and tests its pull, "At least there's something useful here."
  365.
  366. Dharc:
  367. "My hand is still sore...I need a glove for those arrows."
  368.
  369. Mistral:
  370. "And... I suppose I could return Pharasma's symbol to her church. By mail."
  371.
  372. Dharc:
  373. "Just sell it, or something. I mean, why not?"
  374.
  375. Mistral:
  376. "Religious symbols deserve to stay within their houses, not to the highest bidder."
  377.
  378. Dharc:
  379. "What are they going to do with it that a collector wouldn't?"
  380.
  381. Mistral:
  382. "Use it."
  383.
  384. Dharc:
  385. "So, what, use this ten-thousand-year-old relic to flood a room and piss off their neighbors?"
  386.
  387. Dharc:
  388. "Seems a little...dirty to just hope they give it to the right person."
  389.
  390. Mistral:
  391. "For good or for evil, it doesn't concern me. It's a conduit of Pharasma's holy power into the physical plane, and should be used as such."
  392.
  393. Dharc:
  394. " Holy symbols aren't exactly hard to find! You can make them out of twigs, you know. What makes this one so special that it just HAS to be used by someone? I mean, I'd sell a weapon I couldn't use in a heartbeat before giving it to some scrub."
  395.
  396. Dharc:
  397. "Whoever'd use this thing would do just as well with one I carved out of a tree."
  398.
  399. Dharc:
  400. "If you want I'll go do that right now, and we can donate the one I make, and sell this one!"
  401.
  402. Dharc:
  403. "Help me find a tree down here."
  404.
  405. Mistral:
  406. "It's different, I'll leave it at that if you're determined not to understand."
  407.
  408. Mistral:
  409. "I think we're just about done with this room."
  410.
  411. Dharc:
  412. "It's not different at all! That could be hundreds of gp...Which is items we can use for survival! I don't know about you, but I quite enjoy surviving."
  413.
  414. Dharc:
  415. "It's come in handy a lot for me."
  416. Tokens dropped onto map 'Tomb of Akhentepi' by player Thrice (Player)
  417.
  418. Mistral:
  419. "Earning favor with the gods can be far more valuable than gold, in the long run."
  420.
  421. Dharc:
  422. "I honestly don't think she'll even notice... But, well, whatever. That counts as part of your split."
  423. tirkaroKujo:
  424. You open the doors to the other room. BLOOARCH! A gang of human shaped bundles wrapped in linen pop out!
  425. tirkaroKujo:
  426. Thankfully they seem to be long since dead, and don't have any desire to reanimate anytime soon. Each of the dozen or so mummies wears a small medallion around their necks.
  427. tirkaroKujo:
  428. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qXXWHfJha4
  429. tirkaroKujo:
  430. The medallions around their necks are small wooden holy symbols marked with Pharasma's spiral.
  431.
  432. Mistral:
  433. top lel
  434.
  435. Dharc:
  436. "Honestly, I think we should leave these alone. We're not supposed to desecrate the slaves...or something like that."
  437.
  438. Mistral:
  439. "Every slave's hut is a memorial, I think it went... well. There's that dead end taken care of."
  440.
  441. Dharc:
  442. "Could be something else in here."
  443.
  444. Mistral:
  445. « 1d20+4+3+1+1 = 4 + 4 + 3 + 1 + 1 = 13 » There is not
  446.
  447. Mistral:
  448. there could be
  449.
  450. Mistral:
  451. welp tirk you deserved this from the start
  452.
  453. Mistral:
  454. WE GONNA OPEN THAT.
  455. tirkaroKujo:
  456. Upon opening that, you hear a loud, booming sound. "HOW DARE YOU DEFILE MY LUCKY DRAWERS? NOW YOU WILL PAY DEARLY!"
  457. tirkaroKujo:
  458. The door was laden with a trap!
  459.
  460. Mistral:
  461. "Nyeeeegh... they're everywhere!"
  462.
  463. Cockroach Swarm:
  464. And a swarm of flesh-eating cockroaches swarm out of hte door!
  465.
  466. Mistral:
  467. "How did they even survive this long??"
  468.
  469. Dharc:
  470. "Awww, afraid of bugs? That's adorable! Now how am I supposed to hit these things with a fauchard..."
  471.
  472. Mistral:
  473. « 1d20+2 = 20 + 2 = 22 » init I suppose
  474.
  475. Cockroach Swarm:
  476. « 1d20+2 = 8 + 2 = 10 »
  477.
