Ashera: HA dev log 2

It was a street brawl. A place that wasn't meant for battles of this magnitude.

The whole time, Shen seemed more concerned with making sure that no civilians were hurt in the altercation. Blasts of hellfire that veered off into the wrong direction were rushed in front of, Shen crossing his arms braving the flames in order to protect any unassuming nonmagi from the crossfire.

In the event of property damage, Shen held up the falling structures using his influence over the arcane and gave the onlookers to flee. "Get out of here, it's dangerous!" he shouted, a request of which they'd happily oblige. But when he saw the opportunity - and there were many, he'd pummel the Hawke in a perhaps vain attempt to knock some sense into him.

By the beginning of round two, the streets had been cleared out of any civilians. Shen had placed himself at a disadvantage for these efforts however, about twenty percent of his vitality in fact. His sword was raised to oppose the Hawke once again, and he spoke through bated breaths.

"Stop this already. We can talk this out."

[17:38] Anise Ixis says, "Of course."
[17:38] Anise Ixis says, "Though my odds arent the best."
[17:38] Sir Airgenald Spudnicus exclaims, "I will root for you then!"
[17:38] Krez says, "Well... i might go now,see late Matoyasu."
[17:38] Sir Airgenald Spudnicus says, "But I should rest"
[17:38] Matoyasu says, "Stay safe."
[17:38] Sir Airgenald Spudnicus says, "It has been a very busy day"
[17:38] Anise Ixis exclaims, "Rest well!"
[17:39] Ashera Ixis exclaims, "Sleep well deary!"
[17:40] Reito says, "Hey guys I just talked to an Ang-.."
[17:41] "Talking won't change anything! We've been doing that for months and nothing's changed, Shen! I can't do this anymore— I won't keep on being an issue like that!"

Despite the blood that was dripping from the multiple wounds brought forth by the Qilin's blade, the young Magi stood back up. He allowed his flames to take upon a much more vile and wild form, allowing them to harm the buildings now that the onlookers were gone. This wasn't the brother that Jesse had grown up with. This wasn't the boy that just wanted to adventure— An accumulation of curses and madness was leading each and every single one of his actions as hellfire bursted in every direction, threatening the very city that had kept him safe.

[17:41] Ashera Ixis says, "Welp."
[17:42] Matoyasu says, "Hm.."
[17:42] Ginta Toji says, "...uh.."
[17:42] Li says, "Seems everyone is occupied Reito. I guess it will be our little secret"
[17:43] Leoda whispers something.
[17:43] She stared forth at the explosive display from Ethan, taking a small step back as she frowned. This was.... Bad. But then again, she fully believed Shen could handle the wayward Hawke. She shut her mouth now, frowning.

[17:44] Quincy had just finished coming in from the north, his eyes narrow as storms of blackened Shadowflame wash over the streets and Shen is leaping from post to post- Tanking them in tandem with the fight accelerating.

.. But when the green-haired occultist looked upon Ethan? That screaming? That familiar struggle against logical sense? He understood what was happening. It was clear and cut, a prime example of exactly what Quincy had been fighting for well over two years now.

The Occult Madness was in the process of claiming another.

He doesn't smile, or cackle- He frowns intently, pulling out his staff to try and assist Shen in the moment.. Only for a crackle of crimson Hellstorm to come outwards?

… And then immediately fizzle outwards, and his collar surged and blinked with a fervor. Quincy had forgotten about his brand. "Damn it!"

[17:44] Jesse Hawke says, "Oh..."
[17:44] Jesse Hawke says, "Oh no."
[17:44] Li was still a bit dazed by the divine encounter he had some minutes ago, but it seemed the world didn't want him to rest.
In fact, as he entered the plaza, the first thing he was was Shen fighting against one of the Hawke brothers.
It seemed that the little guy was tainted by occultic power, still, Li was more than sure that Shen would take care of the situation.

[17:44] Anna was watching the scene unfolding between Ethan and Shen but immediately turns once she hears Leoda's voice. The siren quickly lunged forward to tightly hug Leoda.

[17:44] After he had come back into the limits of the city, the Kitsune is unfortunately greeted by.. A raging shadowflame magi!

Something alike that, at least. The Kitsune almost seems shocked, if only for moments, as his magic begins to burst in every direction - threatening buildings, and, everybody attempting to observe. With a snap into action, he would do his best to defend his own citizens.

The grasses beneath his feet twist- and grow, attempting to catch the unmanaged flames that burst out.

It doesn't do much, despite his attempts to minimize damage..

[17:45] Ashera would slowly see that the situation has not fixed itself, She would slowly attune herself with her emotions giving her holy aura more power, as she would feel empathy for the people there that would potentially be hurt due to the mans madness. She would create walls formed out of Holy ground to contain the rubble and damage that the boy was causing.

Ashera would then take a small look for shen, as she would be worried about his well being as well... Ashera would quickly rush towards Quincy, and shield him from the blast with her holy shield.

"Shoot. This is getting a bit out hand. Come, lets move ourselves upward..."

[17:45] Quincy asks, "H-Huh?"
[17:46] Quincy was far too close with his initial attempt to jump in and aid Shen- When his magic fizzled, he was in range to get hurt. Bad.

Ashera leaps forward, shielding him now and asking he step back. Hopping to his senses, he does just that. An angry look is plastered onto his face, the thought of being useless and without magic..

.. Now a firm reminder of his collar.

[17:58] Leoda says, "You paid me back when I paid for your release from prison, and now I'm paying you back."
[17:58] "If that's really what you think.. then, I'm sorry for what I'm about to do." he replied, brandishing his sword. His leylines flared up with a brilliant blue, but his expression wasn't nearly as glowing. He didn't like having to fight Ethan like this. He had actually grown somewhat fond of the boy during his stay in Huangzhou.

When Shen left the ground, the match was over in a matter of seconds.

He barreled forward, his leap from the ground leaving cracks in the cobblestone as he raised his sword. The heavy nyeshk blade was slammed downward in an oppressive smash, causing a shockwave to erupt and ring throughout the city of Huangzhou. What followed was a cloud of dust, something that wouldn't stop Shen. He could feel Ethan's sickening mana radiating from his body a mile away if he had to.

The fight ended how it started, with his influence over the arcane exerted in an incredible wave of force. It pushed the finally defeated Ethan Hawke to the ground, prompting the Qilin to approach quickly. Just before his head impacted the concrete, he'd feel something holding him up. Shen had grabbed onto his wrist, preventing his fall.

"You don't need their blood. Do you see how it's made you act? It'll be over soon, Ethan. This.. will all just be a bad memory." he reiterated.

[18:05] It was a beatdown rougher than anything he had ever felt before, short of perhaps when he had been caught off-guard by a Kaor Demon. Each strike was far from fair and drew more blood than the flesh Ethan tried to burn. He was beaten, battered and unable to go on any longer. His instincts had been beaten down forcefully and the desire to consume more blood was...

Growing weaker.

It's as if it had a mind of its own; a piece of Nautia had been put inside of Ethan a long time ago and now that it was at its strongest a violent beatdown had reminded it of its worthlessness. If it weren't for the fact the boy had willingly allowed those dark forces to take over himself it most likely would have gone on for much, much longer.

His wrist was caught before he could hit the ground, prompting the boy that Jesse had grown up with to return, to be in control again. The look in his eyes shifted, locking onto Shen's own with a lot more... Life in them. The dark flames that surrounded him were snuffed out and despite the blood and the cuts spread onto his body the younger Hawke seemed...

Better.

It had been a long road, half of it was filled with utmost trust while the other half had been hatred all along. He realized now how bad it had gotten, how little control over himself he had and how much control the woman would've had on his life if he hadn't ran away from her. His lips parted at last, demanding but one thing.

".. Can we go eat? Real food, I mean."

[18:06] Leoda whispers something.
[18:06] Anna says, "..."
[18:07] Anna's head turns to the floor.

[18:07] Leoda says, "Anna."
[18:07] Anna asks, "... Yes?"
[18:07] Leoda slowly extends a finger and does a 'come hither' motion

[18:12] Jesse watches with baited breath. Each moment of his brother's torment was becoming worse than the last, Jesse bearing witness to a lot of the horror himself. Yesterday especially. It had left him with a fear that something like this would happen, that his brother would finally cross the line into being truly insane. It seemed that those fears had come to light.

Seeing Shen strike his brother to the dirt like that broke his heart.

He rushes to his brother's side, standing by him. Then... he catches a glimpse of those eyes. A gasp sounds out, his hand cupping his mouth closed as his eyes widened in clear shock. From a single glance, he had an understanding that wouldn't come to most. An intuition that, for once, his brother was alright.

The cuts and bruises don't bother him. That one look is all he needs.

"Oh of course we can you-- You idiot!" He chokes out, starting to cry FREELY. Like WATERFALLS from the eyes. He had neverfelt more relieved in his life. …plus he had been fasting for the last three days for religion so any excuse to eat was taken but that thought only comes after he is done celebrating the fact that his brother is no longer a bloodsucker.

[18:12] Ashera would take a small sigh. She knew that the boy needed a lot of to stop him from devolving into his madness. He can see his that the occultic madness has slowly began to overcome the man and allow him to fall near the depths of depravity. As his sickening aura began to radiate..

Ashera would slowly act fast in the name of the angels, as she would slowly form a barricade of holy earth to prevent any more potential lives from being harmed, All the while, she can see that one of the other members that resided here was not only defenseless. But the blast could have effectively ended his life right there...

Ashera would think fast. She had too. She had vowed that the depravity that resides in Agartha would not harm another man that was in her reach. And she was going to uphold that vow. To the very end if she felt she had the need to.

Ashera would run in. She would block the boy from, harm and would drag him back from the rubble and flames, absolutely unharmed. The boy had a face of anger. But she payed no mind. He was alive to live another day, and that's all that mattered..

Ashera would slowly lower the barricade as she saw that the situation had slowly calmed itself. She would look at the occultist. As the boy would slowly recover from his madness. Ashera would sigh...

"May the light of Kraus bless both of your souls."

She would say. As she slowly walked back making sure that no Non-magi were harmed in this event.

Shen used his grip to pull Ethan up into a standing position. He was able to give a smile after all of this, albeit a tired and pained one. Hellfire embers still hung onto his coattails, and his previously perfect features were marked with burns. The city he swore to protect was damaged after their brawl.

Luckily; with the help of Shen, Emiri, Ashera, and many others, the nonmagi population was safe from the attack. It had gone from being a potential tragedy to an inconvenience. His grip was released from Ethan's wrist, only to reestablish itself around the boy's palm and shake his hand.

"Of course. We can get whatever you want, Ethan."

And Shen would walk off to the tavern. He trusted those around him to clean up after the mess that he had made, but this was a vital moment for Ethan. Had the vampiric curse finally been removed from the Hawke's body? He could only hope so, and hold faith that he had done the one thing he had intended to do whenever that boy entered their walls.
