The marauder is resting his wounded body against the main rock the bounty hunter and his goons had used as cover just before Logen and his group slaughtered them. As the others head into the cave he picks himself up with a grunt.

As you advance along the tunnel, you see the cavern is stuffed with rocks, most of which have been piled into a great mound to the right hand wall.

Curiosity gets the better of Illander and he decides to investigate the rock pile to see if anything is hidden among them.

Illander shrugs, and turns to rejoin the group's expedition deeper, adjusting a dial on his goggles to adjust for the additional light in the cave.

Canix continues pressing forward into the cave-like canyon. "Careful with that light Hawk. You'll ruin my eyes you shine that at me."

Suddenly, there is a massive roaring snarl and a small avalanche as rocks tumble down from the top of the pile. A great beast appears, pushing through the stones like pebbles.

It scuttles forward on six tall limbs tipped with claws like spears. Two long thrashing tentacles are arranged about its champing foam-flecked mandibles.

The pistol fire strikes true. Yet just like the boulders bouncing harmless off its hide, the fire has no effect, save for agitating the beast.

The beast charges at Canix, swiping HK-52b out of the way with a powerful sweep of its claws. The droid ragdolls limp on the floor, its systems overwhelmed.

B'ura B'an shouts, stepping back. "No, leave it be! The lylek won't trouble us while it has fresh meat to eat, but if you continue to harass it, it'll kill us all!"

"Hook!" Logen yells out as he sees the droid get slammed by the the insectoid beast. He desperately runs over to the prone droid and picks him up, heaving him up by an arm and running after and a little past Canix.

Logen runs, as fast as his droid-burdened body can. Behind him however he hears and feels the sudden onrush of the Lylek as it comes upon him. Thankfully it is dark enough that he doesn't see his doom as he slams into him, but he sure does feel and hear it. "Blast you-" is all he can yell out before he's silenced.

Realising the layout of the cave, Illander loops around towards where the downed companions are.

The lylek presses on, chasing after B'ura, momentarily losing him around a corner.

Hawk chucks his only smoke grenade and move towards B'ura.

Varek seeing Hawk thrown the smoke, he yells at the creature "HEY YOU, FOODS HERE." he then runs back into the cave through the smoke and down the narrow section and catches up with Hawk and Vars.

B'ura moves in to assist with Logen, taking the weight from Illander's shoulders, and taking the incapacitated mercenary to the speeder outside.

B'ura relieving Illander gives him time to get the speeder ready to leave.

Just as B'ura described, about a mile of travel sees the tall rock formations recede, giving you your first glimpse of New Meen. In truth, the settlement looks set to redefine the word "hardscrabble." It is little more than a shanty town nestled into the base of the cliffs that tower above it. A great pile of soil and rock has been raised up by machines and piled around the south side of the settlement. A few of the buildings look to be permanent (if ramshackle) structures, though most of the residents seem to make their home in tents as you close in on the settlement.

You guide the speeder through its dirt track streets, weaving to avoid piles of detritus and vapor condensers. This place wouldn't even support a cantina. No one seems eager to greet you on arrival, though the frightened faces of Twi'leks peer out from behind the canvas flaps of their crude dwellings.
"Supplies may be short, but the knowledge is there."
The residents of New Meen are cautious and suspicious of you at first. However, once B'ura is spotted, the atmosphere changes quickly. "B'ura B'an! B'ura B'an is back!" and similar cries are raised throughout the town.
Soon the residents of New Meen, twenty adult Twi'leks and a handful of their children, gather about the speeder. They gleefully hail the return of their leader, though some of them regard his maimed lekku with looks of pain and despair.

Illander turns off the engine and searches for the HK unit's medical supplies. "Can one of you use this to treat our companion?" addressing the crowd.

Canix dismounts from the speeder and looks back the way they came, keeping an eye out for the aforementioned speeder bike.

B'ura B'an explains to the residents about the help you've given him, and the townsfolk are quick to hail you as heroes. You are invited to shelter within one of the larger dwellings and are offered some basic rations and care.

"I might be able to fix up our droid." he says as he gets out of the speeder.

HK-52b is the first to be repaired.
Though operational once more, the tools available to the townsfolk are limited, and he remains in poor shape.

HK is barely functioning and tries to heal the unconscious Logen. His efforts were not effective.

After the initial commotion dies down, B'ura asks, "So, how does the situation with the development stand?" The atmosphere in the room turns immediately more somber. The answer details that a few months ago a human contractor named Angu Drombb purchased a tract of land from one of Ryloth's Feudal Oligarchs claiming that he was going to build a desert oasis leisure complex there. It soon became something of an open secret among the Rylothean underworld that Drombb planned to do nothing of the sort and was merely attempting to muscle in on the ryll trade.
No one seems to know who Drombb is; he seems to have no past. Despite this, he is throwing credits around. People suspect that he may be a front man for a wealthy individual who wishes to remain anonymous. Whatever their origin, the credits have been able to get even members of the Bounty Hunters' Guild to work of late.
They admit that at first his presence was regarded as a blessing, as his arrival coincided with the disappearance of the Aqualish thugs who had been extorting the townsfolk. But soon after his men began to make life difficult for the residents. The pile of dirt surrounding the town was placed there by the developers and a number of power supplies have been "accidentally" damaged in the process of erecting the mound. Several minor acts of arson and larceny are also laid at the feel of the developers.
B'ura takes it all in, asking questions to refine his understanding of the developments. The mention of the Bounty Hunter's Guild gives him pause, though he pushes his concerns aside, continuing instead to ask about the well-being of individuals in the town.
"Before we get to the bottom of this, we need to recover. Our arrival here was not without its challenges," he says looking at Logen.

As if on cue, Logen let's out a groan of pain and twitches again.

"I am going to get the lay of the village before I turn in as well. With all of the arson and vandalism I am not trusting whoever is at it to just let the situation lie."

"Likely for different reasons but yeah, looks that way."

In the evening, further medical supplies are rounded up by the townsfolk of New Meen. They insist it be used to treat Logen.

Canix shrugs. "It's the life. Even before the...less than glamours jobs. Surprised you don't recognize me." Canix strikes a blaster duelist's pose and plasters a practiced cocky look across his face as if he was posing for a photo.
As quickly as he plays the fool he drops back to his serious demeanor and keeps walking.

HK uses the newly obtained medical supplies and uses a sim to heal Logen.

Illander laughs, "I aint dumb enough to not know I'm not as much of a big shot as you but you ain't the only name that's known around these parts of space."

Canix nods. "It was just a joke Illander, that part of my life is past. We are all just folk now."

"Luckily the universe rarely allows things to be that simple, would be boring if it did."

Logen's eyes open and he groans as he slowly regains consciousness. "Blast me..." he says, his throat dry and voice rough. "I'm alive? Holy mother of mercy." He laughs and then his body is racked by a series of coughs. He notices Hook and smiles. "This your work, bud?"

Canix finds a piece of furniture to stretch out on and removes his helmet. "Seems Logen is feeling better. Good work whoever got him concious."

"You're better," B'ura says, coming to Logen's side. "I am glad this is so."
He bring his own water canteen to Logen's mouth.

"Yes, though I feel like I was in the middle of a rancor wrestling match." He grins rakishly.
The marauder accepts the proffered water greedily, his throat as dry as the desert outside.

"Ha he pulled through, I'll join the lads for the first few hours, feeling surprisingly spirited and its good to learn the names of those watching your back"

"Water always tastes the best when you're parched, always." He lets out a satisfied sigh, the canteen practically empty. He nods at B'ura. "Your gift of water is accepted."

HK shutdowns for the night. In a different voice, he says "Goodbye." Windows XP ping then powers down.

Illander quietly slips back in early in the night to catch some sleep.

The night brings in a cool breeze. Despite the dryness of the air, you sleep a full, and deep sleep. That is, until you wake up in the middle of the night to a cacophony of mechanical roaring and crashing.
