I Accidentally Rainbow Dash

>"Now for our next event, I hope y'all aren't afraid to get muddy. Any volunteers for tug-o-war?" Applejack asks as she scans the crowd.
>You can hear groaning and mutters of 'no thanks' within the crowd. No one takes up her offer.
>"I know you'd all react that way so we've decided to bump up the prize a little bit. Hey Big Mac bring 'er up!" She says as she motions her brother. "One barrel full of cider for the winner!" She adds with a grin on her face.
>Now that got everyone's attention. One mug was nice enough. Now a barrel of that good stuff? Hot damn.
>"ANON DID YOU HEAR THAT?! A BARREL OF CIDER!" The cyan pegasus beside you says excitedly.
>Good 'ol Rainbow. If somepony asked you if you know somepony that really liked her cider a lot then it's her. You really think that she ought to slow down with that stuff though.
"I dunno Dash. I don't want to get my clothes muddy" you say as you feign disinterest.
>"Aw c'mon Anon! Can't you imagine? Just you and me with a barrel of that good stuff!" She says as she tries to convince you more.
"You and me? More like you'll just hog the cider yourself RD" you snort as you give her a wide grin.
>She just rolls her eyes and puts your face between her hooves. She then looks at your eyes intently.
>Uh oh.
>Not this again.
>"C'mon Anon just for your 'ol buddy Rainbow. Pleeeeease?" She begs as she gives you those puppy dog eyes.
>Dammit those pretty magenta eyes again. Rainbow Dash really knows how to push your buttons.
"Alright, alright you win. 50-50 on the cider okay?" You say as you hold out your hand.
>She takes it and gives it a shake "Deal!"

>Any volunteers? Oh hey you two!" Applejack says as she points a hoof towards two stallions. "Come down here if you wanna play."
>"Any more? They can't play on their own ya know?" She adds.
>"HEY AJ! OVER HERE!" Dash shouts as she waves a hoof at AJ.
>AJ just chuckles and waves the two of you over "Ah know you can't resist Rainbow." AJ then looks at you and grins. "You sure you can handle this,partner?"
You just shrug and give her a wink "Cider is cider AJ." You then look at your opponents and taunt them "Ey yo! It's not too late to back out you know" you add with a coy smile.
>One of the stallions just snorts and gives out a laugh. "Don't expect us to go easy on you, monkey man."
>Oh the infinite imagination of ponies with their name calling.
>Applejack then puts you and the others in position. She then hands you a fairly thick rope with a small flag attached in the middle.
>"NO WINGS." AJ says as she eyes RD
>"Alright, alright sheeesh." RD mutters as she rolls her eyes.
>"Winner takes the prize, loser gets a mud bath. You guys ready?" AJ asks as she holds the rope
>You just grunt and tighten your grip on the rope. True, ponies are a lot stronger than you but you got an ace up your sleeve.
>Hands. You got lots and lots of grip.
>"Ready..GO!" AJ screams as she lets go of the rope.
>Shit these ponies really know how to pull. Four hooves versus your two legs for traction? No fair!
"Alright RD, at the count of three, I want you to slacken up a little bit on the rope" you whisper at her ear.
>"Hhr! Wha?" Is the only thing she can say while concentrating.
"Trust me pal. Ready?" You say as you unravel the rope a bit. "One..two..three!"
>The two of you let go of the rope for a few inches. The other team didn't expect that and the lead stallion loses his balance.
"RD. NOW! GO!" You say as you turn around for one hard pull.
>The other stallion never stood a chance. Looks like its mud bath time for him. Oops.


>"And we have a winner! Congratulations Anon and Rainbow!" Applejack says over the clapping and cheers.
>"Anon we did it!" RD gleefully says as she flies around a bit. She then makes a beeline for you for a tackle
"Hey wait, chill out Das--OOF!" You lose your footing as RD hits you squarely in the chest.
>You stumble backwards and you fall on the mud pit butt first. So much for a clean victory.
>"I'm sorry Anon!Are you okay?" The blue pegasus asks worryingly.
"I'm okay. Help me up,will you?" You say as you hold out an arm.
>She takes it and you drag her also to the mud pit. You gotta get even, you know.
>"Anon what the.." She says as she looks annoyingly at you. Her eyes soften afterwards though and she gives out a chuckle.
>The two of you just sit for a bit looking at each other. Those magenta eyes still has its luster even if she was covered in mud.
"Don't squirm a bit. You got mud on your face RD" you say as you bring her closer to scrape off some of the mud off her.
>She flinches a bit but keeps quiet. You can feel her eyes bore holes at the back of your head.
>You scoot closer without breaking eye contact. Your other arm goes behind her back and you hug her closer. You can feel her heart beat now.
>There you are, covered in mud and your face only a few inches away from hers.
>Is this really happening?
>You're not sure who closed the gap first. Her soft lips lock to yours.
>Yep. You're kissing your friend. Well, everypony was a friend to you but RD was special. The two of you really hit it off the first time you met. Plus she was the only one really interested about your past life and the world you came from. Twilight did show interest but it was purely out of scientific research. Rainbow Dash however, was different.
>You kinda like her, huh?
>The question is, does she like you too?

>What felt like an eternity ended when you broke the kiss. You notice that Rainbow Dash is still not moving.
>Awkward silence. If somepony dropped a pin, it would be heard miles around.
>Then it hits others what happened. You can hear gasps from the crowd.
>"Ooooh, looks like Rainbow Dash has a coltfriend now!" Somepony from the crowd shouts out followed by giggles.
>Rainbow dash continues to lock eyes with you. But something sparks in her. She shoves you away and flies on top of you.
>"Anon..wha?..what the buck was that?" She says as she looks at you with accusing eyes.
>You want to say you're sorry but you were still under a trance. Is this really happening? Shit.
>"Anon..how could you?" She looks teary eyed now.
"Rainbow, I.." You manage to stutter out.
>"You..you JERK!" She finally spats out and flies away.
>Awkward silence again. If not for the mud on your face, others would see how red you are.
"Uh..I'm gonna head out to wash off" you say to nopony in particular.
>Fuck you blew it Anon. You broke your heart AND you lost a friend.

>It has been a week after the incident and you still haven't seen Rainbow Dash yet. Well, You rarely go out now since you were embarrassed yourself.
>But you got bills to pay so you gotta do the unavoidable. You sure hope that RD would come around after a few more days.
>You sigh in defeat as you lift up your toolbox. You got a fairly busy day today since three day's worth of work stacked up.
>First off, Rarity's boutique. She said yesterday that there was a minor leak on the roof and she wants to have it checked.
>You stop by at her door and knock softly. No need to get loud since it was fairly early in the morning yet.
>"Ah, good morning Anon. Here for the roof or just to visit me?" Rarity asks as she opens the door for you.
"Morning too Rarity. A little bit of both I suppose" you say as you give her a warm smile.
>"Breakfast done?" She asks as she leads you to the kitchen.
"Offer really sounds heavenly but I gotta pass. Pretty much swamped with job orders today" you say apologetically.
>"Mhm. Ah, here we are. I suppose the rainstorm a few days ago did a bit of damage on the roof." Rarity says as she points at a dark spot on the ceiling.
"I think I can fix that in a jiffy. Mind if I borrow a ladder?" You ask while you eye the damage.
>"I have one out back. Be careful if you're gonna climb the roof,alright?" She says with a worried look on her face.
"Don't worry Rarity. Safety is my middle name" You say with a chuckle.
>Actually, no. You can't even remember what your name was back at Earth let alone your middle name.
>You grunt and force those thoughts away as you position the ladder. you notice that some of the nails holding the roof together are rusting out a bit.
"Nothing a little roof sealant wouldn't fix" You mutter under your breath.
>It took you only a few minutes to patch the roof up. Nothing much to do about it but to hope it holds up.
>"You sure you don't want to stay for a bit? I can fix you up some breakfast if you like."
"Maybe next time,Rarity. Got my hands real full today. What about tomorrow morning?" You ask expectantly.
>She smiles and nods. "Alright. Tomorrow it is."
"..."
>"Hm? Something wrong, Anon?" She asks you
You hesitate at first but decide to give it a shot. "Have you by chance seen RD these past days?"
>She looks at you quizzically and gives you a sideways look. "Now that you mentioned that, I haven't seen her for a few days now." She then gives you a worried look. "Is there a problem between the two of you? I suppose whatever that is, the two of you would come to terms quickly. You and RD are practically inseparable."
You just let out a sigh and give her a weak smile. "I sure hope so."


>It was already five in the afternoon when you finished your house calls. The repair on Berry Punch's sink took you quite awhile since it was clogged up real bad for the third time this week.
>You were on your way home when you pass by a familiar looking cloud.
"I really need to talk to her next time" you say under your breath as you pass by her house.
>You stop after a few steps and think for a bit. Today or tomorrow? You're here already so you might as well just get it over with.
>you walk just below her cloud and rummage at the bushes for that ladder she kept there for you.
>It's not there. Dammit.
"..."
"Hey Dash..you there?" Nothing.
"I can't drink all that cider on my own you know."
"..."
"Rainbow..look, I'm sorry, okay? You there? I really want to talk to you." Still nothing.
"..."
"Come on Rainbow..buddy..please..I'm sorry.." You stutter out as you try to look up.
"I don't want to lose you.."
>C'mon Anon. Man up and no tears.
"Dash.."

>You were about to give up when you notice a cyan pegasus fluttering beside you. From the look on her face you can tell that she's still angry at you.
"Dash..I'm sorry" You stutter out.
>"Sorry? SORRY?! Anon I'm the talk of the town right now!" The pegasus blurts out as she shoots you an accusing look.
>You just stand there looking dejected as she points a hoof on you.
"I'm sorry.." You say as you can feel that you are now on the verge of breaking down.
"Dash.." You're trying really hard now to hold back your tears.
>"..."
"..."
>She softens her gaze at you and comes closer. "Jeez Anon,you're gonna cry like a little filly on me now? What will everypony think of me?"
"Dash..I'm sorry."
>She just rolls her eyes and gives you a pat on the back. "C'mon, Anon. Apology accepted. I can't let my buddy look like a sissy in front of everypony,right? Let's get you home."
